We visited Wood Nook for 3 nights with our two 9 year old children. We loved this site, the camping field is allocated with decent sized pitches all with hook up if you need it. The kids liked the playground and making friends with the other kids on the site. The showers are warm and clean and the toilet block is well equipped with private sinks in the ladies. The owners are friendly and happy to give information, directions etc. We walked into Grassington which is about 2 miles away and paddled in the stream on the way, the Old Hall Inn pub in Thresfield is excellent, we had Sunday roast which is the best I've had. The location of the site is lovely, surrounded by fields and trees with lovely views and the local villages are within walking distance, if driving then there are lots of places to visit in the area.
We will definitely return to this site, its our new favourite!

One night stay for £23 inc electric. Toilets and shower block are clean and well maintained for this reasonably sized site. Access to the site is via a very narrow tarmaced road which runs for about 800mts from the main road. There is an on site shop that stocks snacks and drinks amongst other forgotten items, I thought the prices were quite high actually.
The site is geared up mainly for caravans or touring vans rather than tents.
Our tent pitch was in what I would describe as one of 2 possible pitches available. Our pitch was amongst some small recently planted trees therefore in a few years time there will be no room for either tent or van.
The pitch is right next to the public bridle way, so be prepared for lots of 'hello's This a very dog friendly site so again be prepared for plenty of dogs being walked and all the doing's that go with that.
The pitch is also very close the what is presently a dry river or brook bed, consequently there are million's of midges and small flying insects.
The local village is about 1 mile away and boasts 2 nice pubs. Food available in both but again prices are high, £3. 50 for a pint of beer, £11. 90 for fish and chips!
A nice site for van's rather than tents and we won't be returning as there are more tent friendly sites around for the same or less money. However, if you have a van and you want to walk for your vista's this is definitely a place to stay, the view of the local countryside is stunning.

A fantastic site in a beautiful location. We stayed for 3 nights and as we booked in the owner told us we were in for some pretty windy weather that night and showed us a selection of pitches that would be the most sheltered in respect of the strong SW wind.
After pitching up we walked down to the local pub. Lovely log fire which was welcome considering the terrible weather. We didn't eat there as the meals were rather expensive but as there is no competition I suppose they can charge what they like.
Shower and toilet facilities superb. Very warm and clean.
Only used the shop once or twice because we drove into Grassington for most of our groceries but it seemed very well stocked. Only niggle was that it didn't stock any alcohol or wine.
The owners are extremely friendly and don't mind stopping for a chat. We fancied a ride out to Stump cross caverns to escape the rain and as the little information hut didn't have a leaflet the owner offered to download some info off the net and print it out.
If you stay for long enough take a walk up to the quarry. An unbelievably tranquil spot with loads of wildlife and opportunities for birdwatching.
There is also a play area to keep children amused.
The site does have WiFi but it didn't seem to work too well on my phone so I used my own connection.
This is our second visit to Yorkshire, the first being a quick stop over at Skipton the previous week which prompted us to want to come back and after staying at Wood Nook we will definitely be visiting Yorkshire again.
I would definitely recommend this site and cannot think of one negative thing to comment on.

Welcoming staff at reception, we were left to find and pitch ourselves up at the top circle of the site away from the kids park, my kids enjoyed the park and made friends every day.
On the pitch I had to use blocks under a wheel and use the caravan legs to get the caravan level as the jockey wheel was off the ground by 3 feet, I even took pictures of how high it was to show friends.
Toilets were clean and showers were warm.
The site shop is only small, we only bought eggs and then stocked up on food at the supermarket in Skipton.
Location is great, we had a bike ride into Grassington and we choose to visit Bolton Abbey and Lightwater Valley and the family had a great time at both.
Access to the site is a single track, drive slow and carefully as it has no view of on coming traffic and at least one sharp corner.
Site has WiFi included at no extra charge and was always available and useful for steaming music and browse the internet and the kids connected there phones on a night to play games.
We didn't want to leave and all the friends the kids had made were waving us off when it came to leaving.
We like trying different site but this one is well good!

We stayed at Wood Nook for 5 nights with our campervan and we were so pleased with our stay and with the site. The owners are so friendly and helpful and the site is really well appointed. It lies up a lane in Threshfield, off the Skipton - Kettlewell road. The site has lovely woodland scenery surrounding it, and views to crags behind. Despite inclement weather, we hardly used the car during our stay as there is so much to do nearby and there are good rural bus services from Threshfield and from Grassington. There are nice walks from the site, too, and my husband was doing the Etape du Dales cycle race and it was perfectly situated for the start of the race in Threshfield. The facilities of the site are lovely; very warm and clean shower and toilet blocks, a launderette (which we did not need to use) and a well-appointed shop. The layout of the site is great, too, with a dog walking area, a children's play area and outside washing lines. In addition, there has been a lot of thought about things like recycling and encouraging birds and nature to the site; it was lovely to hear the owls at night. All in all a lovely stay, and we hope to be back before too long.

I've stayed at this site several times. Brilliant location if you're walking or biking, with wonderful countryside that you can get into right outside the door of your tent or van. The pitches are well spaced out and the site is well maintained.
Facilities are in an old stable block that was part of the original minor stately (ish) home. Can be a little chill in early spring but they're clean and there are plenty of them.
There's a very handy small shop on site and all the staff that Iv'e dealt with over my visits have been very friendly and helpful.
You're going to have a 10 or so minutes walk if you want to go to the pub--but the air will do you good!

First time on this site. Very pleasant site tucked away behind Theshfield. Good facilities and helpful owners, children's playground, shop and information. Free Wifi and EHU. Really enjoyed our one night stay and will certainly go again. Great site for local walks. Good pub within reasonable walking distance.

We stayed here for the August bank holiday and although the site was full, the site was extremely quiet apart from the owl at night! The toilets are housed in a separate building from the showers, toilets were clean but the showers always seem to have grass in them. The owners are pleasant and helpful. The drive up to the site is narrow which is not great for my passenger, so would I return? I might try another one.

Wot a fantastic weekend. Stayed Saturday Sunday Monday and although weather a bit off really enjoyed it. Owners really friendly clean blocks well kept site. Owners were fantastic. Our hook up cable was too short but they lent us one of there's hard standing with fresh water not far away from vans. Only our second time caravanning will go back again.

This is lovely, quiet site with friendly staff and a great place to take the dogs, with a separate dog walking area. It is equipped with everything you need, including clean showers and toilets, children's play area and a small shop. We only visited for 1 night but will definitely be going again. Great size pitches with hardstanding.
