As the weather was so lovely, we decided to go away at the last minute. Wood Nook was recommended to us by a colleague. The site is in a delightful location and is impeccably maintained. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. The shop stocks essentials and is open 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening (although the hours are extended depending on demand). The toilets and showers were cleaned regularly. It's one of the first campsites I've stayed in where the water is at a constant comfortable temperature. There is a covered area where you can eat or have a barbecue in the rain or very hot weather (and believe it or not we did have to go there to get out of the heat). There is a laundry with a washing machine, a dryer, 2 irons and ironing boards and a clothes airer. There are lots of walks around the campsite and there is a shed with leaflets about what to do in the area. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back!

Just had a great 3 nights at this site while in the area for the Tour de France. Lovely quiet site in a great location with facilities kept immaculately clean, even though site was full. Pitch sizes are fine, all with good views.
There is a shop on site which sells most things you'd need and at decent prices too. You can order a daily paper and there's a facility to drop off freezer bag blocks for refreezing too - no charge - just a donation to local charity.
All the staff we met were very friendly and always available to help. Loads to do in this beautiful area - Skipton, Grassington, Bolton Abbey and picture postcard villages every few miles.
Will definitely be back!

Great little site with scenic surroundings. Michael is really welcoming and helpful. Site is kid friendly with separate ball games field. Pitches are well kept and large enough for any sized tent, car, table & chairs etc. Toilets/showers at site entrance very clean and require key to access though only one key given per party/pitch. Showers in between warm-hot with push button function. Reasonably priced on-site shop selling most amenities inc. Newspapers.
Good location for walking/hiking over the moors with spectacular views. All in all a nice little site for a peaceful weekend. Out of the site's control but only downside was being eaten alive by midges - repellent spray & incense sticks provided little help and people were taking cover in their tents by 9. 30pm. Annoying but wouldn't put me off returning in future to give it another try. Paid £44 for 2 adults 2 nights which is slightly more than average of other sites in the Dales.

Just spent a long weekend at Wood Nook with our two littl'uns (10 and12). Being Bank holiday weekend it was busy but not crowded. Our pitch had plenty of room for our large tent windbreaks and car.
The site offers a shop, toilets, free showers and washing up area, and there seems to be no limit to the amount of hot water at any time of day.
The facilities were spotlessly clean, and the small shop had almost everything you could need. You can even order a paper. Michael and all the staff are fantastically helpful and friendly.
Best thing about the site in my opinion is that it gave our kids what we had as kids - freedom to explore the woods, play in the stream and charge around doing kids stuff. What a great time they had! There is a small playground that kept them amused for an hour, but they had far more fun in the woods.
The walk around the nearby quarry was worth doing, but will be even more interesting in the coming years as nature reclaims it all. Wasn't impressed with the 'feel' of the Gamekeepers Inn, but found the Old Hall Inn amazing. Brilliant staff and great food. And just a short walk from the site.
The site is full of wildlife - rabbits everywhere, owls, pheasant and so many species of birds that we had to buy a new book!
Grassington is a quaint little village and has a good selection of shops.
Only slight negative - no campfires, which would have made it perfect for us, but SO close to perfection!
In short, can't wait to go back.

Just had a really relaxing weekend at Wood Nook. They could not do enough for us, we had not booked but they found room for us and went that extra mile to give us electric hook up too. Showers and toilets very clean. Nice walk into Grassington and not too far for the old dog we have. Would I recommend going here OH YES although reluctantly as I don't ever want to not be able to get in due it been so fantastic and full

Loved our stay here, we used it as a base to go cycling and the views from the campsite were lovely. Plenty of wildlife about we saw rabbits and heard owls hooting!
Service was great, they have a well stocked shop and will get you a morning paper in. When we got back from our cycle on day 1 to find we had not bought all the meat for the BBQ and I went to the shop and they had sold out of sausages so the campsite owner gave us some from her own fridge (saved the day!).
Toilets/showers were always clean and never any queues.
The only gripe is that access to showers/toilets was by a key you were given as you booked in, not always so handy if you have 1 key between two of you!
Had a great, reasonably priced meal at the gamekeepers inn and a great visit to Skipton Castle.
We would definitely stay again.

Visited this following a wedding nearby for 3 nights. It's a beautiful site and really well organised, spotless facilities, great little shop for all you could need or have forgotten!
Playground for the kids looked decent and dog area is always a handy extra.
Visited Grassington town on the way, very quaint and wouldn't like to see it on the weekend as it was busy enough for such a small place.
Walked down the road to the Old Inn I think it was called. The lack of atmosphere was the only negative. Had local dishes and good range of options to satisfy any hungry camper.
Lots of walks can be taken from the site, we didn't do much so can't comment further.
Very quiet site. Plots a little close together if vans have big cars alongside them and awning the other side, it could get cozy let's say, but we have neither so were fine.
Paid £66 for 3 nights from Saturday to Tuesday.

A great little family-run site tucked away with wonderful walks extending in all directions.
True the facilities are in need of updating but the gently-sloping site offers a level of tranquillity seldom matched by other locations.
The staff are friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble including a watchful eye as we reversed a 30ft Fifth Wheel into a pitch designed for a family caravan.
The electrical hookup had a mind of it's own and refused to allow the use of our microwave (the neighbouring van had the same problem so it wasn't just our overgrown unit)
A word to the wise - the approach road is described by the owner as a 600yd single track road - a euphemism for a goat track hemmed in by solid dry-stone walls and although they manage to get 10ft statics through it our fifth wheel (46ft from tip to toe with a bend in the middle) did not like it all, especially the right-angle turn halfway up.
If you have a large American motorhome or fifth wheel this is not for the faint-hearted. If you make it without tearing off any of the plastic sticky-out bits (we did) you get the Wood Nook seal of adventure.

My husband, 2 year old and I have just spent a weekend on this campsite. The lady I spoke to when making the booking was so lovely and friendly. Everyone we encountered were really helpful, chatty and friendly and I think this rubbed off on all the guests because they were all really happy too.
The facilities were all clean and always hot water. The little shop was extremely handy and had more or less anything you might need. Within reason of course! The playground very handy for our 2 year old.
The pitch sizes are big so there was plenty of room for our new mansion that we invested in.
Great base for the surrounding area ie grassington, malham cove etc.
All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending this site and we will definitely be returning in the future.

We stayed here for two nights over the bank holiday. Found the facilities to be very dated and the gents had a smell that wasn't very pleasant. There are three showers in a separate area which, like the toilet block needed some updating. 20p to use a hair dryer I thought was inconvenient and a bit stingey. Wifi is variable to say the very least and kept going off so we stopped trying to log on. I know they are booked up for months in advance so perhaps there is little incentive to update but compared to other sites we've used this year we found it to be very much in the past. There is a little shop which is useful and a handy dog walk. It's a very long walk to the local pub although the food made it worth the effort. Site staff were friendly and welcoming.
