Stayed here when visiting BBC Good Food Show at NEC. This is a beautiful site well cared for with ultra clean and warm facilities which were very welcome (we stayed during a very cold spell). Bird tables regularly stocked with well needed food as it was freezing and water was made freshly available for wildlife. We had a take away delivered to the gate which was very good. One of the best sites I've ever visited. Would go back any time.

Spent a week here after a fantastic visit to the Lake District so this site was really up against it to meet expectations.
However the place is amazingly laid back providing a safe environment for children whilst also benefiting from being right on the public network for the Yorkshire Dales.
Toilet block / showers are basic conversions but very clean. The previously mentioned key system helps to ensure that the place is not used as a playroom and that passing walkers don't have access.
Only gripe I have is with the pitch (number 3) being under a tree thereby ensuring no tv signal and never any sun on my van!
However I would return - the area is excellent walking country with Grassington just 2 miles away giving you the chance to walk the DalesWay and Malham just 5 miles overland.
Treat yourself

I can only add my comments to what others have said, lovely well kept site with clean facilities and a nice little shop.
The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome The location of the site is handy for the Dales and a nice ride to York and Harrogate where we spent a fortune and had a very good couple of days out.
There was a small problem with midges so we made sure we stayed in the caravan one night when it was particularly bad but apart from this we had a very enjoyable stay. We plan to visit again and have recommended this site to friends.

Spent 2 nights here recently. We got a choice of pitch on arrival and the staff were very friendly.
Toilets and showers were kept in good clean order. In the Gents showers at least you do not have to pay 20p, I think they have had new plumbing installed.
The shop stocked a basic number of supply and a selection of cakes at excellent value.
The kids also loved the playground.

Just returned from a three night stay at this site.
Lovely location, about a mile and a bit walk from the local pub.
Nice friendly staff and small shop on the site which sold basics.
Toilets and Shower blocks clean and plenty of hot water.
Nice touch is the hot drinks machine. Very handy for us early risers and for 50p a cup not bad. Most mornings awake at dawn and met the milkman.
The tent pitches are all marked out and with loads of room for tent and car.
Good location for visiting local area, Bronte Country, Skipton, Harrogate etc.
Only one problem, a Tawny Owl which did not shut up all night, so loud I thought it was in the tent with me.
The tent pitch was £18 night which I thought a bit steep for non electric and no bar or entertainment facilities.

We stayed here back in July as a group with two other families.
The site was superb, very clean, tidy, great washing facilities, coffee machine is a really wlecome touch and good coffee too.
We were watched over by an owl each evening and had plenty of wildlife around us. Midges can be an issue, but they are everywhere.
If you want peaceful, stress free camping, this is the one for you. Don't expect a 600 seat club house, bar, pool and video machines - It's not here, thankfully.
If however you want a well spaced site, with great facilities, and no hassle - call them.

Spent one night here last week. Great campsite. Field is well kept as are the facilities. Didn't use the showers but the toilets are very clean with little individual cubicles which are a nice touch.
Loved the fact we didn't have to leave until 6pm on day of departure. £18 for one night for 2 of us was the most we've paid to date. Walk into Grassington was about 2 miles. Would recommend this campsite to anyone.

This was our second stay at Wood Nook and once again I can thoroughly recommend it. We took a couple of friends with us who hadn’t been camping for a long time and I think we might have converted them to it!
This was due in no small part to the fantastic site. The owners/staff are all really friendly and we got to pick our pitch. It has all the usual facilities; clean shower block with ample showers and hot water (push button control so you don’t waste water and you no longer have to pay for them!), clean toilet block with separate wash sink cubicles, covered washing up area (two sinks), small shop selling all the basics and some yummy homemade cakes (and a freezer for ice packs), children’s play area (we don’t have kids but the ones we saw on it seemed to be enjoying themselves) and a dog walk that my husband said was a nice walk without a dog too.
The pitch was good, as we were in the non-EHU field this meant all tents while we were there. This is a peaceful field away from the touring caravans and statics. Plenty of room to pitch a five man tent, I also wouldn’t think you’d have a problem with the bigger tents I’ve seen around either. The field appears to drain well but it hardly rained while we were there, the pitches are also grassy (kept short though, which is a bonus), level and stone free. You get fantastic views of the surrounding countryside from the site which is great to wake up to. Also as the field is in a slight hollow, you are also well protected from any wind.
A big bonus for us is that they allow barbecues/open fires as long as they are raised up on the concrete blocks they provide for the purpose. So we were able to collect some fallen fire wood on site and have a campfire in our small firebowl. A lot of sites don’t allow this so it was great to find this one does. Marshmallow and chocolate digestive sandwiches are always heaven when you’re camping!
Overall we love this site and haven’t found any negatives after two visits; we will be going back as soon as we have a hankering for seeing the Dales again.

We spent 4 nights at this site and enjoyed our time immensely. The facilities are always kept clean (despite while we were there not good weather conditions). Toilet block was excellent - individual cubicles in the ladies for a 'wash and brush up' and good showers situated in an adjacent building. The site shop had all the basic needs and the family / staff were always helpful. Very happy to refreeze your cool box ice packs etc. Good covered area for washing up and facilities for clothes washing.
The children's area was well planned and in use most of the time. We had an electric hook up pitch which was sited with the touring caravans / awnings and of course could keep nice and warm and dry despite at time appalling weather conditions! When it didn't rain (not often) the site drained very well. The hard paths around the site were very good. We did hear from campers without electric hook up that their field was just a mud bath and several set off home early. However, we couldn't blame the site for our English / Yorkshire weather!
We are a recently retired couple who decided to go camping again after many a year and these sort of facilities make it a real pleasure. We stayed in this area to also be near our offspring and my son was delighted to find that there was a baby changing area that 'Dad's' could use! He was most impressed.
Only criticism at all was that the lane leading to the site is extremely narrow with few, if any passing places. We were pleased we didn't meet a caravan or trailer going the other way! We will return and hopefully have better weather for our stay.

I totally agree with all the positive points referred to in previous reviews.
We had two long weekends in August, unfortunately it rained every night.
On our second visit the main camping field was very wet, especially at the bottom of the field, the owners let campers pitch on the adjacent playing field which was a lot better.
Despite the weather and mud we all had a great time, especially the kids who thought it was a great adventure.
Will be back next year.
