This was the first site myself and my 9 year old son went on a father and son camping trip. The weather was hurrendous, it rained hard for 3 days - however the camp site and staff were fantastic. The facilities are excellent, showers clean and hot water, the wifi was good, the camp shop is very good and full of all the basics, the owner even allowed me to charge my mobile phone which was a lovley touch. Washing facilities are good and they are covered. The site is lovley, the information hut is a cute touch. Took the boy fishing at the trout farm about 2 miles down the road, it was a great day catching the fish, a bit of a suprise to have to kill them too, but all part of the experience. The pitches are marked out by rope and are of a good size. All in all I would highly recommend this camp site for location, standards, facilities and most of all the staff are so accommodating, friendly and helpful.

Just come back from this site. Couldn't have had a nicer stay in such wonderful surroundings. The owners couldn't do enough for us as a few things went a little pete tonge with our van.
All in all a wonderful site with excellent showers and toilets and a little shop on site. Set in a peaceful location with easy reach of Grassington, Boulton Abbey and Skipton, and Leeds,
If you want a nice peaceful relaxing getaway then I would go no further than to recommend Wood Nook. We shall be returning. Highly recommended.

Lovely Little Site this stayed here in September beautiful scenery lots of places for walks literally out of the back gate.
There is a small park on the site which our two girls enjoyed.
We stopped on the electric area which mainly has caravans on it which was not a problem my only gripe was it was not too flat so we had to be careful where we positioned the tent.
There is another area which is for tents which require not hook up which looks very spacious and flat.
We will be returning here in the future.

Ideally situated camp site in the heart of the Dales - great base from which to sight-see, walk or mountain bike. Staff were extremely helpful and flexible when we had to move our booking last minute due to a poorly dog!
Tent pitches were generous in size and appeared to be well drained - although it wasn't particularly rainy when we visited. Showers were free, clean and warm although 25 second push button system a little annoying!
Dog walk area was useful although not particularly near the tent area. Good wash-up facility and the children's play area looked good from what we saw of it (nine month old a bit young!. Nice to be able to strike camp at noon - makes for a relaxing morning on your final day.
Threshfield village about a 30 min walk away - Old Hall Arms is a good pub which welcomes dogs, children and serves great food.
Take some midge repellent if there's not much in the way of a breeze and enjoy the lovely night-time chorus of the owls!

Have just come back from a fortnights camping at Wood Nook. Unfortunately the weather was terrible which made parts of the tent field a mud bath. I mention this only to emphasise how helpful the owner Michael, and his family were. They went out of the way to try and improve conditions that were beyond their control, to the point of driving up to our tent with a tractor scoop full of gravel to lay at the main door of our tent and our fiends tent.
Despite the weather the site was great and really peaceful and given a hot summer (remember those anyone?) it would have been lovely to sit out at night more often. I had no problems with the facilities. The toilets and showers were very clean and, if you followed the instructions that were clearly posted regarding the showers, the water came through nice and hot.
For a small donation to their chosen charity the owners would happily charge mobile phones, laptops and kids computer games and you could hook up to the free wi-fi.
The site is well placed for lots of day trips e:g Grassington, Skipton, Harrogate, Malham. During the last 2 weeks of August a lot of the local villages have their summer fairs and shows. We managed to get to the Burnsall Feast and Sports day and watched the fell running up Devonshire Fell (suddenly realised how unfit I am). The Old Hall Inn in Threshfield and The Devonshire Arms in Grassington both serve excellent food but can get very busy at weekend. Excellent site and we will definitely return.

Had 3 nights at Wood Nook, and will definitely be back. Showers and toilets were spotless and a bit old fashioned which added character to the place. Owners are very nice and helpful.
This is a lovely area for walking, climbing and touring, some good places to see within three-quarters of a hours drive. Skipton, Hawes, Malham Cove (Spectacular).
When driving further on, the roads can be very narrow so care is needed. Quiet peaceful and relaxing site and area.

Very nice site with very clean showers and toilets.
The tent field is well laid out with pitches around the perimeter, which left plenty of space in the middle.
Our first night was a very wet one with thunder stormes but the field drained well and there was no problem with water.
The ball game field has a slope part way down but caused no problem for the kids.
Even though it was busy we never had to wait for the use of any facilities.
Will return again.

Just been here for the weekend - first time in our new caravan. Lovely quiet site and the people were lovely. Did feel a bit squashed in though compared to other sites we have visited.
Toilet and shower facilities are spotlessly clean and tidy and always plenty of tissue and soap. The only down side was the temperature of the showers.
By the time the hot water came through (which was after I'd had a cold shower - about 15-20 pushes of the button) the automatic light turned off and left me in the dark. Not very safe really.
Overall lovely site with shop just a shame about the showers

I stayed at this camp site, while travelling around competing in Dry stone walling Competitions.
The owners were very friendly, even offered me the opportunity, to rebuild some of his walls, whilst getting to grips with local styles, (Ah farmers same the country over, salt of the earth)May take them up on the offer for next year. The camp was well run, and every thing was spotless. The small shop had a very good selection of real ales in bottles, As much as I tried, I couldn't make my mind up which was the best brew. So for 2013 I will try again (both walling and Real ales)

We have just returned from a lovely week at Wood Nook. Generally a positive review with the only niggle being the rubbish showers in the ladies. Hubby tells me the gents aren't so bad but the ladies really are pants. There are 5 showers, push button type. Generally you get 4 or 5 cold cycles, then the water begins to warm and you get maybe 2 or 3 warm cycles then back to cold. That and the fact that the pressure is pretty poor leads to a fairy bad shower experience where you come out cold and cross - not what you need after a hard days walking.
On the plus side, the showers were always clean and available and were free. We paid £26 a night for caravan, awning, dogs etc so really, for that kind of price, you would expect to be able to have a decent shower.
Anyway. That's the bad bit over, now for the good. Wood Nook is a beautifully clean and well kept medium sized site. The toilets were always spotless, there was never a queue for toilets/showers/sinks/wash basins. There was always plenty of toilet roll and hand wash. Paper towels for hand drying ran out occasionally but that was no real issue as there is an electric dryer in the block too. Hair dryers available for 20p a go. Didn't use these as we had our own in the van.
Small children's play park with swings, slide and a little climbing frame. Our caravan was pitched next to the park so that was handy as we have children. Noise was minimal and there was never any trouble. Everything was quiet after dark and we slept extremely well with no disturbance.
A public footpath runs through the site, leading off up a big hill. Make the effort to walk up there, the view is amazing.
Check in/out was quick and simple, friendly staff, no problems.
Small shop open on a morning and again on an evening. Managed to get milk and eggs there but they had no bread which was a shame. Nearest shops we found were in Grassington but they were very expensive. Stock up before you go and just have to buy the very basics locally and you'll be fine. You can order a morning paper fromt he shop too.
All in all, a very nice site only let down by the ladies showers. We would return as there is so much to do in the area and a week was not long enough. A note of caution. The road leading up to the site is narrow and twisty, be very careful!
