Really don't want to make this review too good, Hummm Because we don't want it to get too busy, lol. Just spent a lovely 4 days which we extended to 6 because we didn't want to leave. This site has won the hygiene of the year award, & we are not surprised! Toilets spotless, Hot showers, always kept clean. Top marks for all the staff, & might I add Very friendly People, nothing is too much trouble for them. Anyway I digress, sorry but they all made us so welcome, Always smiling & very friendly. Play area for the children could be a little more updated, but the children on site were enjoying it. Most of the children brought their bikes with them so fun was had by all & very safe on site. Dont be put off by it being near a road, very quiet, & you didn't really notice the traffic. Next to an air field, But once again it wasn't noticed. Pontin's just down the road, £1 per person for all day, 9am - 5pm indoor swimming pool & great play area for the little ones, Well worth it, so much fun. Not many places to park in Southport town ! But free parking @ Sainsburys just shop there & your ok to park. Don't for get your ticket when you go in, & don't forget to have it validated by the cashier. Where ever you go, Please enjoy yourselves

Just returned from a weekend at this site. It was our first trip out in our van so can't compare with any other sites. The staff where very helpful and showed us to a pitch we could just drive on to. Explained about the site and said if we needed any help to let them know. We paid a £10 deposit for toilet and shower block key, which was returned at end of visit. Toilets and showers where very clean and free to use. Play area for the kids was small but for the weekend had no complaints from our two. The site was very clean and well run. Would return.

We have just returned from this site. All I can say is how good it is we are new to caravanning and on arrival the wardens were very helpful checked us in at gone 7pm told us about the area. Showed us to our pitch and helped us set up and told us what to do with everything also came back later to see if we were ok. Lovely clean free shower block and toilets. Within 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive to the beach and village lovely area. Will be making this a regular site. Kids play area and football area and dog walking area ok. My little boy loved watching quiet planes on airfield next to site very quiet never bothered us at all.

Spent six days here over the Bank Holiday on the touring pitches which are quite near the road, can't say it bothered us. Friendly reception on arrival and helped onto pitch by efficient staff. Generous pitches well cared for. Toilet block was excellent with choice to use main block if required. Charming dog walk which obviously was the main route into the camp-site in a previous time.
The site is next to an Airfield (RAF) but heard not a peep from it. Weather could have been better. Beatles Matthew Street Festival cancelled on Bank Holiday Monday. However many other things to do.
Formby Beach is a must and Antony Gormley's Another Place is worth seeing at Crosby Beach. Southport for seaside fun and frolics and for shopping too. For National Trust fans don't miss Rufford Old Hall. For eating Toby's Carvery and in Southport there is an excellent Wetherspoons much frequented by the local population I can recommend it. Some great beach walks all along Sefton beaches. So would go again.

We have just returned from willowbank and enjoyed it I will try to be as honest as I can to help others with this review.
The drive in is easy enough turn off Liverpool rd onto coastal rd then into site easy,
the check in was fast and was showed to our pitch through electric barrier (£10 deposit) and was helped to back onto pitch which was tight as we was on hard standing, the little road you have to swing van and car round is tight but we managed it would be easy if pitch opposite was empty.
Shown where toilets, showers and water and elsan was. When we started to put our awning up we noticed loads of ants and we asked reception and a young man came and sprayed some powder on them which did the trick, the awning was not on the grass anyway so not too much of an issue apart my Mrs panicking over nothing, so when we went to Tesco which is nearby we got some ant powder and covered the area, my Mrs was happier but we wasn't the only one to have ant problems.
So here are the good points: nice and clean site and cut grass nice owners good for Tesco's and a few takeaways I would recommend busy bee's in Ainsdale village they do Chinese and fish and chips and the fish are big and nice we tried both.
A nice Toby carvery pub which was value for money just up the road, you need to ask at willowbank reception and they will give you a map of area with shops and pubs marked on it.
The bad points well not bad but would improve the site needs more of a playarea the 3 swings didn't keep my two occupied for more than 5 mins, so would benefit from more to do for kids my lad made friends and rode his bike around he would of been lost without his bike.
The shower was small there was 3 showers in men's block and about 7 sinks I only ever sore one other guy use a sink could take 2 sinks out and make shower cubicles bigger because when you in shower the curtain keeps sticking to your bum but I do have a big bum ha ha
Also if I was to go again I wouldn't book onto hard standing the grass pitches looked bigger and just as close to shower block as we was. That's about it over all a nice site which could be an excellent site with just a few improvements.
Would I book again yes if I was in the area I would.

Spent Jubilee weekend at this site. Like many of the previous reviews we found all amenities to be very clean and well looked after.
The staff were extremely helpful especially when enquiring about our trip to Liverpool for the day, we took the option of getting a taxi to the station in Ainsdale and going by train.
A great day out and everywhere easily accessible from Lime Street. We were pitched in the large open field which we preferred as pitches closer to the reception appeared quite shaded in some areas.
We had plenty of room for car and porch awning. Will return if ever in this area again.

Dropped lucky on one of the most glorious weeks of weather we've seen for along time. This site also very much met our expectations. It is beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant. Our pitch was in a small enclosed area with hardstanding, bit tight for getting large units onto as commented on before but, fortunately for us, the pitch opposite wasn't occupied and so we had room to get on without faffing. A staff member stayed and offered every assistance until we were on the pitch.
The site is in a good position for visiting the surrounding tourist areas and is served locally by buses and trains.
Toilets and showers are beautifully kept and regularly cleaned, even so, I always like to have a mop and disinfectant to use when I shower after someone else and there wasn't one here, which I thought was unusual. Ground maintenance is excellent, signage is clear and looks very smart.
There is a very small playpark for children with a couple of swings and an enclosed 'ball games' field.
There is a dedicated 'dog walk'.
There is an ornamental fish pond which has a picnic table alongside.
I have no real complaint to make about the site itself at all. Outside of their control there is some road noise (particularly from speeding motorbikes)which is a shame because the ambience of the site is so tranquil.
Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We've just spent a weekend at this site to use it as a base to visit Liverpool (only a 40 minute easy drive from the site) and family.
It was great, from the moment we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff, even after 7pm, shown to our pitch and offered help to park up.
Everything was beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean.
The showers were really good and the shower curtains went all the way down the the floor! One bug bear of mine is shower curtains that are too short so the changing area ends up wet. No problems here.
I cannot fault this site and we will definitely stay again.

Just spent the weekend at the site. Great access from the road and a very well maintained site. The staff are very welcoming and very helpful.
We were shown to the pitch quickly but I must point out at this points the pitches near the woods are VERY tight indeed. The pitches are very level and the gravel is freshly raked. You need to be very good at backing in to your space or have a mover.
On the second day we were awoken by the planes from Woodvale. Now I know the site is close to Woodvale one pilot drove his plane round in a circle for hours on end and it does get on your nerves after a bit.
The washrooms are immaculate but three showers and three wc’s meant there were queues at times. There is only one sink too for washing pots so again it meant queues.
Well placed site though for Formby and Ainsdale. Sadly Southport town centre looks tired these days and has been invaded by Charity Shops.
Would I go again………probably but it would either be at the start or end of the season and I would definitely not want a pitch near the woods for reasons I previously stated.

We arrived in the dark and the wardens were super helpful, we were guided to our pitch and helped to get the caravan onto the pitch. It was a bit tight to reverse onto the pitch; so a helping hand pushing did the job quickly.
The hardstandings are absolutely level but a little on the small side. The facilities are in 1 block: rubbish down one side, waste water, fresh water and toilet disposal down the other. Toilets/showers, washing up area and laundry inside the building. The facilities were immaculate. The whole site is very well kept.
We were off site for most of the time in Southport which is about a 5-10 min drive away so I can't comment on other areas of the site as we didn't have chance to look around.
The site does suffer some road noise but it didn't bother us, it certainly shouldn't put you off.
I wouldn't hesitate to use this site again.
