Our first visit to this site in our tourer, absolutely loved it! Beautiful & well run, there are quite a few do's & don't notices about the place but I can understand why, the owners have put a lot of time, effort & money into this place & the rules are there only to enhance this fantastic site. The only minor criticism I have is to do with the showers, they were spotless but have the owners ever tried using them, they were so impractical! In my opinion the cubicles are not big enough & there is only two or three hooks to hang your clothes on & a very unstable holder for shower gel etc, a small stool in each cubicle would at least give you more off the floor storage to put things but there would not be enough space for anything like that. Please don't let this put you off, the rest of the site more than makes up for the showers. The staff are lovely & there's a few essentials for sale in reception

We chose this site for our first night in our new caravan - close to home, and allowed us to do a bit of motorway/a road/B road driving. As first time tourers, this was ideal. The staff were friendly and ever so helpful. The facilities were immaculate, and I like the idea of needing a key for the loos/showers. Lovely level pitch, and ideal location for a quick trip into southport or Liverpool. Spend some time exploring the coastal path and dunes - bracing! We'll be back - suited us as a short break to try out our new toy!
Some road noise from A565 and next door to an airfield, so planes too. Didn't overly bother us.

We stayed here for 4 nights and I can't fault the campsite at all!
We have booked again for the Southport flower show later on this month.
I am registered blind and was given the disabled washroom key on arrival. Very nice staff and a well run camp.
We used the bus service into Southport on two of the days.

Just returned from Willowbank after a 3 night long weekend stay. Apart from the weather it was a nice stay. Onsite facilities limited for kids 3 swings a climbing frame and small football field luckily the weather wasn't too bad. Shower block immaculate and cleaned on a regular basis. We did find that if the site was full there could be issues getting off the site as pitches I found to be a bit too close for comfort it was busy on our visit and found had to do quite a bit of manoeuvring to get out. Pitches fairly level and dry.
Great place to use as a base for Southport and Liverpool we found a bit of a bonus on the one wet day and found that it was £18. 00 for 6 of us to visit Pontins (quite a bit run down)for the kids to go swimming and use of all the entertainment facilities until 11pm. Only down fall we found was that it is close to the Formby Bypass which can be slightly noisy but you soon get use to it.
Staff at Willowbank fantastic from checking in escorted to our pitch and checking out always polite friendly and willing to help.
Visiting again soon.

We just had 3 night's stay at WillowBank and had a great time! The owners were really helpful and friendly, and we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The site is spotlessly clean and the grass and plants were very well maintained. The toilets and showers were really clean, and it was obvious why they had been awarded a Superloo award! We had a really relaxing break and cannot wait to return. The only down side was the noise of motor bikes racing on the main road, which at times sounded like the Isle of Man T. T! A minor irritation, however, and no reflection on the site.

Just had a nice stay at this site. Easy to find and friendly staff. Nice and flat, pretty site, good shower block. Couldn't adjust temperature of showers which were lovely and hot for adults but perhaps a bit too hot for children. The Sparrowhawk pub is within easy walking distance and does lovely food. Some minor road noise from site but not a problem. Easy run into Southport along coastal road. Would return.

A very nice site large pitches and friendly staff. Ideal site for walkers and cyclist. Shops closeby only ten minute drive from pontins and southport.
Only negative is they close the toilets on the top field when caravans on field start leaving when they get down to about ten caravans left. Very annoying when you have asked for a pitch near toilets because I have bad knees and difficulty walking to next toilet block

Needed a break not too far from home and couldn't have chosen a better site. We were less than an hour from home but could have been miles away from the noise of the city. The site is absolutely spotless and very well laid out. The facilities were first class too. We had 2 dogs with us and the dog walk was perfect. It runs along the side of the site and would appear to be a now disused lane. Perfect for the dogs to run safely. Just a short 10 minute walk from the site takes you to the amazing nature reserve with many clearly marked walks through the trees, over the sand dunes and down to the beach. There is also a regular bus outside the camp site which takes you into Southport, which is a lovely town to visit.

Stayed at this site with my wife and dog in our caravan over the bank holiday period together with my daughter and her family in their caravan and we had a lovely stay although the weather was a little inclement at times. We suffered with the mist over the liverpool bay which grounded some flights from the Isle of Man but that was not anything that could be foreseen.
The site is well maintained and clean and tidy and a good location for getting into Southport, being on the coast road. The kids enjoyed the visit to the beach although the weather was not great. Dogs loved it too but we had to keep an eye on them or would have lost them in the mist.
The site staff were friendly and helpful and the pitches were fine.
Went on recommendation of a fellow caravanner and would recommend it to anyone wanting a short break over a weekend. As we may well go back again as it is conveniently located for us.
Thanks for a good stay.

Very we'll run site, clearly marked pitches, good quality although small showers, Mrs complaint re showers was that the heating wasn't working. In November! Park set within trees although close to by-pass. Not cheap but you can see where your money goes, security barriers and the like. Must visit Sparrowhawk pub whilst there, we ate frogs legs there and saw Alan Hansen!
