My wife and I are touring caravan virgins so chose this site because of the good reviews it got and it was local to were we live. On arrival we were welcomed by a very nice couple, we were shown to our pitch and also assisted with getting our van on the pitch (which was appreciated ). Toilet and shower block are spotless, at night it was quiet despite being close to a major road, will most certainly be going back

Stayed here for 1 night whilst touring up the coast. Received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our pitch by a member of staff. Used the shower & toilet block as those in the van were being used by the teenagers! Spotless facilities and nice and warm. We did hear a little road noise in the evening but it wasn't intrusive and didn't disturb us. The location was perfect for walks into the village or train/bus to other spots on the coast. Will probably stay here again when touring the coast next time.

Booked site on the spur of the moment in August. 2 hour drive for Carlisle. Met at site with a smile. Staff welcoming. Toilet and showers block very clean and tidy. Camp site clean and close to plenty of golf courses. Other caravanners friendly. Hire a bike or take your own is a must. Plenty to see and there a plenty of watering holes in any direction. The only negative thing was one of the staff had a very bad rash on his leg in the form of a man city tattoo. If your a keen golfer take your clubs, and don't do what I did a look at the forecast for the week ahead and leave you clubs at home big mistake. Going back next year with clubs. Campsite 10 out of 10. Thank you

We had a lovely, quiet stay at Willowbank. It is a very well maintained site in a good location. Easy access to Liverpool. Just hope on a train, Southport. 15 minutes in the car and some lovely small towns/villages to see like Ainsdale and Formby. Recommend a visit to Ormskerk (Thursdays market day) Very friendly staff, will definitely be coming here again.

Stayed here for a weekend with my wife and 2 year old son. We arrived on Friday evening and was greeted by helpful and friendly staff who showed us to our pitch which was on grass hardstanding. The pitches are well separated and although we were close to the main road it never really bothered us. There isn't much for the kids although there is a ball field and a small play area. The shower / toilet blocks where spotless.
We went for a walk around southport and around the theme park which kept the little one entertained and wasn't overly priced compared to Blackpool. Park and ride was a bargain at £1. 50 per car.
Overall not the nicest site we've been to but we would definitely stay again for a short break

Having bought a new caravan after a 25 year break, this was only our second weekend away in it. We booked this site because it's not too far away from home and it had some good reviews.
We weren't disappointed, on arrival we were greeted in a nice friendly manner, we were then escorted to our pitch by a man riding a bicycle and on the way we were shown how to use the key fob which opened the park entrance barrier.
The park is immaculately maintained with lovely grass and nice roads, the ample sized pitch with electric hookup was ideal for us. The toilet/ shower block was small but very clean and tidy, access was by key only which made it feel safe while having a shower after dark.
There isn't much to do on the site but that was fine by us as we just wanted a nice place to stay while we figured out all the mod cons in our new caravan. I think children may find it a little boring as there is only a very small play area for them but there is bike hire so that would be an option to pass a few hours and Southport with its good attractions is only a short distance away.
All in all we had a very nice quiet two days there and I'm sure we will visit again.

This is our 2nd time here. Just spent one night, because going to sister in laws for party and thought taking the van would be better than taxi home. We were the only ones on the touring site, but this didn't matter. Everything was still run so Professionally. Shower block is very clean, site is very clean and staff are very helpful. The only thing I can say bad about this site, is the play area is small, if you have children, they will get bored, but for a short stay, I'll come here again and have already booked may day weekend. 5 stars to the staff.

Booked last minute by phone after deciding to take our two young granddaughters away for one night and a visit to Ainsdale beach. Accommodated us easily although the site was quite busy with people arriving all the time. We were shown personally to our hard standing pitch with electric and there was lots of room on the pitch. The wardens were so friendly and helpful and the campsite was spotless. The facilities were first class and our two girls made friends with other children on the site very quickly. The site is safe and secure and even though near the main road and RAF Woodvale was very quiet. We will definitely visit again under orders from our girls! Thank you for a lovely stay even though for only one night.

Highly recommend this site, extremely friendly staff that will help you and show you to your pitch. Little park for kids, very quiet at night which we love. Immaculate showers and loos and pot wash area etc. 5 mins to ainsdale village. Jade garden Chinese is lovely and busy bees for chips. Crosby beach is well worth the 20 min run in car :-) wardens on site patrol regularly. My child made friends with other kids easily. Very secure site. Dog walking area (dogs on leads) really can't wait to go back. It's near main road but didn't bother is, also near air field but wouldn't have known so. Lots of room on pitch sizes.

We chose Willowbank as a base for visiting Southport Flower Show. A beautifully laid out site, convenient for Ainsdale, Birkdale and of course Southport. Good bus services run throughout the day and would recommend as parking can be a pain!
The site itself is situated at the back of RAF Woodvale and right next to the Formby bypass, which can be noisy from early morning until late. Earplugs are essential in my humble opinion.
The facilities are spotlessly clean and well maintained although the shower cubicles are really quite tiny. It can also get quite blustery, so sheltered spots are at a bit of a premium.
On the whole, Willowbank is a nice park but only as a base for travel into Southport.
