This was our first ever night in our new Pod! The site fitted us in at short notice and the wardens were really helpful. Toilets, showers and pot washing facilities were all immaculate. Pitches nice and level and easy to maneuver into. Good pub/restaurant (The Sparrowhawk) within walking distance - food and real ales were excellent. Would use this site again. Wish we had stayed longer.

Very impressed with the site in general, very helpful and friendly staff, exceptionally clean toilet and shower block, no rubbishy to be seen and the bins were emptied regular, .
The journey to Southport takes just 10 minutes, and is well worth while, good shopping Lord Street.
Excellent restaurants and coffee shops.

What a wonderful location for our holiday. It was so convenient for trips to Southport and Formby and Ainsdale was a handy walking distance away. We had a huge pitch which was close to excellent washing up and toilet facilities. Traffic noise was definitely present but did not marr the holiday. Just perfect.

Hi I would like to thank the staff for helping us on our arrival, I was a tad stressed as I had taken my two kids down for the 4 days break there both aged 3. 1/2. I was surprised how quickly I was seen to and within 5 minutes my caravan was on the pitch, the warden was so helpful as he could see I was travelling with two kids myself. I couldn't believe how clean the toilet facilities were, I think I was the first to require first aid as my daughter fell and cut her hand, but the staff were so helpful I couldn't thank them enough, the wardens would always ask if I was ok when ever they passed by and were great organising thee flow of traffic as not to upset any caravanners with unwanted parking outside there caravan by other campers, always a friendly wave as they passed by, this was a fantastic site for family's and the ground level was so flat this made our cycling rides a little easier. Again thank you to all staff credit to you all hopefully be back again soon Jim (Daddy), Joshua and Sophia

What an absolute gem!
Stayed for just two nights at the end of March 2016, just changed my tow car, so this short trip was really to test the new car and grab a short relaxing break at the same time. We picked this site because it's only about 1 hour from home and the reviews are very good. This site is a credit to the owners, from the moment you arrive at the site you are welcomed with a colourfully planted, attractive entrance sign and a spotless, well thought out reception area. Small and simple things appeal to me, the ample sized arrival bay which allows you to pull over, without blocking the entrance and without any difficult manoeuvring, whilst you check in. A friendly and warm welcome from the owner despite arriving later than planned, 10 mins after the reception should have closed for the evening (sorry guys). It is very clear to see that the owners have put a lot of hard work and thought into this beautiful and well maintained site.
Manicured lawns and gorgeous flowers blooming everywhere you look (and it was only march). Although this site is quite large regarding the number of touring pitches, there are also a number of static vans on the other side. The layout gives the impression of a much more intimate setting. The numerous pitches are set amongst different 'areas' a mixture of both grass and hard standings. We booked a hard standing due to all the wet weather we had in the previous week but due to the excellent maintenance at this site, even the 'bowling green like' grass areas were solid. I felt guilty parking on the grass because it was so beautifully manicured but the owner assured me that this was the norm and he even encouraged me to drive on the grass to make pitching easier!
Once set up you also find that the facilities are first class, in line with the surroundings. Showers and toilets are spotless, even the waste water/elsan points are spotless.
Our children are now grown up, so we tend to go for smaller, quiet sites but here they seem to cater for all and they do it very well. A small children's play area and dedicated ball games field, set away from the majority of the pitches but close enough to keep an eye on the little ones.
Mobile 4g signal very good (O2) and T. V. Signal perfect. The site does offer a pay for wi-fi service, via 3rd party but my 4g was very strong and ample for my needs, so I can't advise on cost or connection quality.
The park shares a perimeter with a small RAF base, there seemed to be some activity on the base but we didn't see or hear any planes take off/land. I was a bit disappointed really, not sure if the base becomes more active at other times of the year?
Out and about Ainsdale village with more than adequate pubs/take aways and convenience stores etc aporox 2 miles and Formby (same again) only a few minutes drive. Also large retail parks, 24hrTesco, and all the usual suspects within 15 mins drive. Formby beach is walking distance and Southport with all its delights, shopping/fun fair etc approx 20 mins drive.
As you can tell, I really do like this site, one of my all time favourites and we will definitely return in the near future.
Willowbank has got a lovely 'holiday' feel can't wait to return in the summer sunshine!
Well done to the owners, this site sets the bench mark for me.

Been to this site a few times now and have never been let down. Toilets and showers are always clean with plenty of hot water. They are the push button type, but I have never had a problem. There is a 2nd shower block in the other field, but this was not open. Nobody in the 2nd field to open it for.
We had a hard standing pitch which was level and close to a water tap. All the pitches on this site look level and well looked after. The whole site is clean and well kept.
The play park is a bit small, but for a weekend its OK. The park is close to the beach and the fun fair, (5 mins by car) if the needs arise.
The wardens are very friendly and helpful, they show you to your pitch and well lend a hand if needed.
There is a large supermarket 10 mins away on the bypass and the village of Ainsdale has a good selection of shops and pubs.
All in all a nice site and we will return.

Booked here for January for the weekend, really nice site very friendly and welcoming, shower blocks are immaculate although a bit on the small side, but nice and warm. Pitches set out nicely and level although there was only us and one other caravan there when we went, the grass pitches were flooded but with all the rain we have had I'm not surprised. However I do think they need to review there winter prices as for a family of four and a dog was £52. 60 for 2 nights and you need £10. 00 for a gate pass and toilet key (which you do get back when you leave)There is a very small play area with 3 swings and a climbing frame, and a small pond. There is also a dog walk which takes you to the static caravans and back round nice little walk. Ideal if you want to visit Southport or Liverpool as plenty to do and not far from the pine woods which is also a nice walk. There is a lovely little pub the Sparrowhawk out of the site turn right and right again then a left easy walking distance and they will allow dogs in the pub and have little treats for them on the bar. Over all a lovely site although a little pricy in the winter months.

Lovely site. Everything is spotlessly clean & the staff were very welcoming.
Bus stop 300 yds from site entrance. The Sparrowhawk club, within easy walking distance, is brilliant, although a little pricey.
An ideal site to visit Liverpool, Southport, and the surrounding district.
We would definitely go again. Top spot.

An immaculate site in every way only let down slightly by the size of the shower cubicles and sinks though they were clean at all times. The bus stop 200 yards down the road goes to Southport or Liverpool and run quite late. Yes there is some road noise but never bothered me. We walked through Ainsdale N. R. In hope of seeing some Red Squirrels but were unsuccessful so carried on to Freshfield station then to the award winning Camra pub of Freshfield which was serving over 12 real ales and had a nice menu also then caught the bus back from Formby.
