This site is EXCELLENT.
Well laid out pitches over four fields we stayed on rose field.
Showers and toilets all very clean, takeaway good and value for money.Could do with being open longer though only open 6.00pm til 8.00pm
All the staff very friendly.
Our daughter loved the playing field and the animal park, we were up there most days.
Good locations only 1 mile from Perranporth.
We went to the New Inn at Goonhaven, food and drink at reasonable prices also the Green parrot in Perranporth, £4.00 to park all day but if you by food and or drink that costs over £5.00 they refund the parking fee, again reasonably priced.
Overall the site was excellent and we will definitely return.

We visited this site end of June/beginning of July this year and found it great! It's the little touches that made this campsite lovely; there's always a radio playing in the shower block so you're never lonely, there's an adorable little herb garden which you can help yourself to (which we did - often!) and there's lovely tubs of flowers everywhere making the site look really nice. The toilets were very clean, strange considering I didn't see the cleaners once! The walk down to the beach is a bit of a challenge, there's a path to follow, but we got lost the first time and ended wondering round the golf course for half an hour. We always got a taxi back at a cost of around £3.50- £3.80 (money well spent in my opinion as the buses are quite small and usually packed, and hard to get on with beach bag, windbreak and surfboards etc). The beach is amazing, and dogs are welcome. We would most definitely go back there!

We found this site on UK campsite but didn't book as we wanted to look at a few and decide on the day. We looked at 3 others and this was the fourth and definitely the best we saw. We arrived and although reception was closed, a very friendly lady came to meet us and gave us 4 different pitch options in 3 separate fields. We chose our pitch and began setting up, to discover our new tent had no pegs, so the lady re-opened the shop again so we could buy some (and was very happy to do this). I was initially worried that there may be too many kids for us, but I was wrong, it is a campsite for singles, couples or families.
Dogs owners, this is a great place to be as there is a massive moorland/dune area next to the site which is perfect for walking and cycling. There is also a fab beach for kids/dogs at porthcothan which is in between newquay and padstow, about 20 mins drive. There are numerous supermarkets locally, but the best we found was morrisons at newquay which is cheap and massive. The facilities were cleaned and checked regularly and we never had to wait for a shower or loo. There were also sinks with drainers which was helpful. A quiet site, ideally located for most of cornwalls sites, which is clean, well kept and relaxed.
A great stay, worth the money, and we would definitely go back alone, with the dog and or the kids. Would recommend.

Stayed several times. Always a friendly welcome and a beautiful and convenient location. There is space for kids to play and an area with some animals to see. In the mornings you can buy great value locally farmed bacon and sausages in baps if you want something warm without having to cook (in the rain?). The toilets have the local radio playing all the time so you can catch the local news and weather. Perranporth is walkable for a meal, pub or takeaway in the evening and for the beach in the day. Although Penhale sands is a closer beach but with no facilities actually near the sea and so is much quieter.

Friendly campsite with well laid out pitches and clean toilet and shower facilities.
Large grass area for the children to play on with a small playground.
Convenient location only one mile away from Perranporth. Bus stop right outside campsite.
Will definitely visit again

Firstly this was our first camping trip and I chose Tollgate Farm because I have 4 kids (12, 10, 8 and 20 months) and they love animals.
There are rabbits, guinea pigs, hens, turkeys, goats, pigs, horses lots of various birds and now a llama! Which you can help feed at 11 am every morning.
We stayed for a week and even though the weather was poor for 2 days we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in the Perran field which has its own toilet / shower block which were spotless. The view from our tent was rolling hills and the must see St Piran Cross and Oratory.
The owners were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable of the area, they couldn't do enough to help.
They also have a large field which has a tennis court, football goal and a large children's play area on it.
The site also has its own take away on it which compared to local restaurants prices, was amazing value for money (16' pizza £8.50)!
£1.40 for a large tray of chips.
They also do breakfast. Food was delicious and eco friendly all packaging etc.
Take Away was immaculate as was the rest of the site.
We will definitely be returning to this site.
As I said this was our first camping trip and this is a very high standard for our next site to compete with.
Without a doubt amazing value for money!, beautiful place to visit, excellent campsite with super super friendly owners, the hygiene factor was a worry for my OCD obsessed partner, but honestly you couldn't fault this place, Not once did we find any part of this site littered or messy!.
Site has a launderette with washers and dryers £3.00 a wash 20p for 5 mins drying time,
50p for 30mins ironing time.
Site has hairdryers too but unsure of price as never used these.
On site shop sells or your daily needs.
Just a short drive away is a local public house/hotel called The Whitehouse, Penhallow, this has the biggest children's play area I have ever seen, Outside: go karts, mini golf, kids play area, baby play area, pond (with fence around), Inside: Pool tables, arcade games and a climing area.
This pub also sells food and has entertainment on at the weekends till 1 or 2 with no time limit for children to leave.
We will be back for sure this place was fantastic!.

We emailed the campsite a couple of days before our holiday to see when we could be on site (its over a 7hr drive from where we live) as we didn't want to arrive and have to hang around. Email back very quickly with very helpful info.
On arrival the staff where very helpful and friendly, they showed us to our pitch which was in what they called perran site which has a toilet / shower block and a wash up room. Also on site there was the little shop that sold the basics and some camping bits (pegs, ropes etc) and a snack bar which we had bacon cobs and pizzas from (the pizza was great value for money). The kids play area and animal area were lovely. The campsite was only a few minuets rom perranporth and the beach by car or you could walk over the sand dunes to the beach which took around 10 mins. I would point out is that we took metal pegs for our tent and because of being on soft ground the pegs didn't stay in when windy so we bought the long plastic pegs from the site shop.
The site does allow dogs if on leads which we found most people did except 2 who didn't.
Perranporth beach is great but again the beach does allow dogs.

I can't believe I forgot to review this site a couple of years ago. We try to get there at least once a year.
Again, this is an owner run site and therefore you can expect a very friendly welcome and a high level of customer service.
This is an easy site to get to with great views across the sand dunes leading to the beach. There are plenty of hook-ups, a flat field and 22 terraced pitches in another field.
The toilet block is modern and well-equipped. It is always clean even in the height of the season.
It has a safe and large play area for the children.
But this site has something else. There is an animal petting area at the top of one of the fields where children and adults will find a number of interesting and friendly animals. This year I even spotted a llama called Hedley!
Better yet, for those of us who like bacon and eggs in the morning. There is a small take-away, run by the owners, that provides a breakfast in a bun among other things.
For a stress free break - extremely highly recommended.

We have stayed at this site 3 times now. You always get a friendly greeting, the site is kept clean with big pitches. Wildlife is abundant. We stayed in the perran area. The toilet block in this part is older than the other area, is kept spotless, but showers are slow to work, power doesn't seem to be enough to power them. The area around is beautiful, a 2 minute drive to perranporth and it's shops / cafes and beach. 8 miles to Newquay. We love the site and will be going again without a doubt. Our daughter loves the animal enclosure and small playground. The only bit of criticism I can give is that you may get a bit of noise from the haven site that is next to it

This is a fantastic site! We stayed here for 8 days in August and although the weather was horrid we had a great time.
The staff were very friendly, the shop was small but sold free range eggs which were very nice, the takeaway also sold good pizzas.
The toilets were always clean and only needed to queue once which was great.
The pitch that we had was a good size and close to the toilets.
The animals were also great, with guinea pigs, goats, rabbits and various birds.
There is also a large play area which a playground.
The only down side was the walk to the beach which was across sand dunes and was a bit of hike (would be very hard to do with young children and a buggy), but the bus stop is just outside the site and they did seem to run on a regular basis.
This site is great for families or couples.
