An excellent site. It lived upto all the Hype and reviews we had read. I can understand why we had to book in January to ensure our pitch which were the largest pitch we have stayed on,
Plenty of room for a 4 bedroom tent, car and gazebo The best site we have stayed on in with out doubt.
Ideally located for touring Cornwall, facilities and staff first class and everybody obeyed the no noise rule after 1030. Will be revisiting this site on our next visit to Cornwall.
The on-site cafe/takeaway served excellent food both on a morning and evening which was a bonus after a long day sight seeing and the toilet and showers were always spotless.
If you have children there is acres of free space for them to play in even outside the tents/caravans.

We visited Tollgate Farm for the first time and we were very impressed. The site was very clean, well maintained, good play area for the kids and the staff were very friendly.
The piches were a good size and we seemed to have a slightly larger pitch as we had a pitch near the gate in Rose.
Cannot fault the site at all will book again for sure.
Perranporth is a nice little town, smaller than I was expecting and wasn't too busy. I would say though if your going to the beach you need to get there early if you want to park on the carpark at the beach as its small and gets full quick. There are other carparks but are a few minutes walk from the beach. The beach was very clean and was busy but not over crowded.
Crantock beach is a very nice beach too, seems to be out of the way, again small carparks that get busy.
Lands End is good for a visit with the visitors centre.
All in all a nice site and nice area.

Another year of returning to tollgate farm but the 1st time in summer.
Still the best campsite in cornwall that we have been to.
Friendly owners who do a lot around the site (feeding the animals, grass cutting, running the shop/reception, cleaning the loo's and showers)
they have a leaflet about the local walks to the beaches and to perranporth (we walked to the beach every day).
The site shop sold everything you might run out off. Also they have a food hut which does breakfast and evening meals which we thought where at a good price.
The main campsite has a large shower/toilet block and washing machine tumble drying room (£3 for a wash and the dryer was 20p for 5 mins)
The other shower block was a lot smaller 2 showers, 2 sinks and around 8 loos in the ladies (at a push it could do with a couple of extra sinks but I don't think there's any room) several times we couldn't was our hands due to people brushing teeth or doing there makeup.
All areas where cleaned often and the site was well kept.
This site is great for couples and families who like a quite site which we do.
We will be back next year

This is a fab site.
Showers and toilets always clean, owners very helpful, area is great for all ages, beach is lovely.
Have been as a couple and had a great time despite bad weather, and returned with our little girl who is 16 months and she loved it too. The play area and the animals are brilliant.
We took our bikes to the beach through another holiday park, which was easy to find, although it is steep and we should of left our bikes at the top, but we forgot the lock! Bit of a treck back up the hill.
Book early as they do get really full up. Well worth a visit.

Well what can I say beautiful site and very clean. Stayed for two weeks and wish we could have stayed more the staff very friendly and very helpful.
The site is split by a road, on one side you have two large fields tents and tourers including the play area the size of a football field this is away from the camping area and a large toilet block which includes washing machines and dryers. On the other side of the road you have one large field with toilet block and showers.
Showers and toilets were cleaned twice a day, and they were spotless also showers were very hot they also did catering on site which we did not use but people we spoke to said it was good.
Its about 2min drive into perranporth down a steep hill so if walking it would be hard work coming back, up bus stops just two minute walk outside the front gate. Fantastic site would definitely go back again.

We stayed at Tollgate with our 15 month old - her first camping trip, and we were very impressed with the site and plan to stay again in the future.
The playground is good, catering for children of all ages and was a very short walk (we were in Willow field). The animal's were all friendly and came over to say hello when we walked around the animal farm. There is a cafe/takeaway - which we didn't use, but saw lots of people taking advantage of the breakfasts on offer.
The facilities are all lovely and clean, and the family shower rooms were really useful. The floor was a bit slippery, but there were plenty of rubber mats around so I just slid one of those under the shower. Pitches are good size (our tent is 6m x 3m) we had plenty of room for tent, car and running around space! The on site shop is really reasonably priced.
Location wise the site is only a mile out of Perranporth. You can walk to the beach if you don't mind the hill on the way back. Newquay is only 6 miles away. Despite being next to the road it was quiet and late night/early mornings were very quiet across the site. There is a supermarket in Perranporth, small but adequate, and plenty of pubs serving food. The White House Inn, Penhallow has an indoor and outdoor children's play area and served really lovely meals.

Wish we'd found this site years ago!
Excellent site in great location.
We've been to Perranporth many times before so knew the general area but this site is great.
The owners are really helpful and friendly.
Takeaway food bar is available at certain times for breakfast and evening meals. Well stocked shop with all the basics you may need. Fresh eggs from their own chickens!
The toilet blocks are spotless and we never had to queue for the showers (free showers).
Plenty of sinks for washing the dishes. Washing machines and dryers available.
The site will also charge phones or laptops and freeze your ice packs for a donation to charity.
Pitches are very spacious and sectioned off so you feel you are in a cosy site.
Plenty for the kids to do, very large play area with swings etc and they have their own little animal area, where the kids can help feed the animals.
Good digital TV reception. Orange mobile signal good. Vodafone mobile broadband signal not too good but if you are missing the internet you can buy a pass to use the sites wifi (£3 for 1 hour/ £20 for 12 hours. You don't have to use it in one go. Just remember to log off!)
We took 2 dogs which were very welcome but you have to keep them on a lead on site (understandable) but there is a huge dog walking field next to the campsite, so my 2 were in heaven.
Also the reception have details of a few walks to the beach of various distances.
Dogs are welcome on Perranporth beach but there will be restrictions coming into force in july and August, where dogs will be allowed on the beach but need to be on their leads in certain areas. Not a problem as the beach goes on for miles.
All in all lovely site, great location. Happy campers!

Just got back from this fantastic site. The facilities were very clean, the site never got muddy. We had some rain and didn't see much sun but still loved it. The beach is a fair walk away, but their is a walk down across the heath and dunes which our dogs loved, you need to be fit to walk their and back, although the road way back was quicker through haven. The beach was outstanding and perrenporth a nice little town. At night we walked just across from the site to the heathland to walk the dogs, their is hundreds of pathways through, it was a lovely place to walk, although if we had terrier type dogs we would worry about them getting stuck or lost in the many rabbit warrens

We visited this site in June, our decision to visit was based entirely on the reviews we had read on this website. I can honestly say we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the owners who showed us to our pitch which was huge!
The facilities here are excellent, the large toilets and showers are spotlessly clean and the family bathrooms are a really nice touch when you have young children. The play area is huge and well looked after and the animal section is a lovely way to spend an hour. The overall site is very clean and well maintained, a small shop and cafe offer everything you need, all served with a smile and a thank you.
This is a lovely site from which to explore the local town of Perranporth and the wider areas of Newquay and Padstow, I can honestly say we will be returning next year and can understand why this site gets booked up a year in advance.

Never camped before. But must say a great site.
They helped me put my tent up as I had a bad back. Will definitely be going back next year.
Within easy reach of all cornwall. In fact so good I didn't get to do half the things I wanted to.
I have 2 girls, 5 and 7 and they want to go there instead of a caravan. They liked the play area and the animals. I found that my girls stayed at the play area until 10 every night.
Very quiet after 10 pm.
Washing facilities were fine. Generally a great place to go for a holiday. Most recommended.
Cant wait actually!
