Very nice site,on working farm, owners are very friendly and eggs on sale are very good, toilets clean and tidy, good solid ground and was not muddy anywhere after overnight heavy rain. We enjoyed our stay on this site (were quite fussy)and would return. Recommend Victoria hotel in Robin Hood Bay for Sunday carvery as food is excellent and not expensive around £7 well worth the trip.
A previous review mentioned the path to the showers being covered in cows muck, this is no longer the case as the cattle are now using different route

I chose this campsite due to all the positive reviews and we weren't disappointed! Great value for money and the owners couldn't be more helpful or friendly.
The pitches are huge - a 3 person tent and car barely took up half the room! Toilets, showers etc very clean and never ran out of soap or toilet roll and even included hand towels. Friendly hens - Henrietta isnt shy to have a wander round the site. Picked up some free range eggs to take home with us - so fresh they came out of the hen house.
Even though the campsite was full over the weekend we never had to queue for the facilities. I can now see why it is so booked up. A good choice for our 1st proper camping experience (excluding festivals).
Near Whitby, York, Malton and Pickering - so lots to do in the area.

What a fantastic site! The pitches are all clearly marked out and they seem huge. The toilets and showers are great, spotlessly clean with handwash and towels at the basins. Plenty of hot water for your dishes in the washing up area.
There is a small play park for the kids and loads of animals for them to watch. They only charge £10 per night for your caravan including hook up what fantastic value! we will be going back as soon as we can.

Stayed at this site for 2 nights. Owners couldn't have been more helpful and pitches were enormous and all had electric hook up. Toilets were extremely clean and never had to queue.
With Pickering one way and Whitby the other it is a perfect location for visiting the area. Went to watch the cows being milked with the Farmer which wasn't a problem to him at all.
Highly recommended

Stayed on this site for 1 night only as it was our 1st camping trip with the kids (3 & 1) I must say I was extremely pleased with the site. The shower and toilet blocks are very clean and tidy and the owners were extremely helpful and kind.
Not much for the kids to do although you do have lots of space between the sites so they have room to play. What did worry me was the electric fence that separated you from the cow field, maybe not the best with children around. There is things to do around the area though with Pickering and Whitby only short drives away. Highly recommended site.

We stayed on whitsun bank holiday weekend,a little hard to find as the sign wasn't very big.
Very large well set out pitches, brand new toilet block with showers and washing up facilities. Information board with bus timetables + magazine exchange.
Owners were very helpful - even came round to check everybody was ok after very high winds.
Our daughter loved the freedom + being able to go look at the animals + watch the cows being milked.
Hardly heard the cows, main road a bit noisy, but not too bad.
Even took some farm eggs home with us.
very good prices -£11 p/n with ehu for 2 adults + 1 child
Will try and come back again

We have just had a lovely 4 nights at this campsite and will most definitely be visiting again. The pitches are a very good size. The shower blocks were absolutely brilliant, it didn't matter what time of day or night you went in they were clean.
The rates are very reasonable too. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We went to see the cows being milked one evening, and had a good chat with the farmer about how he looks after the cows. Nothing was too much trouble.
There was a paddock near the entrance with pygmy goats, chickens, ducks, a couple of pot bellied pigs and a donkey, which the children loved getting up close to. They sell fresh eggs from their ducks and chickens too. Anything like shops etc was a drive away really, but not too far.
There are quite a few places to eat out, a supermarket, and lots of great areas for walks nearby. We can't wait to go back there again.

We've just returned from a trip to Marfit Head Farm and have to say we found the site to be great.
We stayed on the larger of the two fields (the smaller one being for Caravan Club members). The pitches are enormous, with more than enough room for our tent (Sprayway Valley 8) which has a 7m by 6m footprint, our car, trailer and plenty of room for the kids to play. The field is gently sloping and there didn't seem to be any issue with drainage. The ground was fine for tent pegs, although we used hard ground pegs for added security.
There is easy access to water points, two chemical loo disposal points and all pitches have electrical hook ups available.
The toilet / shower / wash up facilities are first rate. Well maintained and exceptionally clean. Even when the site was quite busy over the weekend, there were never any queues to use the facilities.
One thing to bear in mind is that the farm is at a reasonable altitude and it can be a bit chilly & breezy compared to the lower levels. Not that this should be a problem with reasonable sleeping bags etc.
There is a small basic playpark for the kids, although it is worth bearing in mind that this is a working farm and your kids need to be supervised if their of a younger age.
The nearest town/supermarket etc is in Pickering which is about 6 miles away.
The farm owners are really friendly and approachable and made us very welcome.
If your looking for a site with shops, club, bars etc then this site isn't for you. But if you're looking for a good quality base for touring the North Yorks area (which has an abundance of tourist attractions!) then this site is ideal as well as offering superb value for money!
Looking forward to our next trip to Marfit Head Farm!

The first time that we have been camping, we saw all the good reviews for Marfit Head farm, so thought we would give it a go. This is a working dairy farm, loved seeing all the cows waiting to get milked, just stood there patiently.
Very surprised with the size of the pitches, excellent size, we had a four man tent, so looked a bit lost in it, but was great to have the extra space as we had our dog with us. We also had the electric hook up. In all it was £4 per person and £2 electric, so not bad at all for £10. They have more toilet and shower facilities now, never crowded, always clean and warm.Childrens play area, ducks, chickens, donkeys that they could go and see.
There is a pub a few mile down the road and I think dogs are allowed in, so we may go there next time as well, didn't go this time because the dog was wet.
Whitby is about 17mile away and Pickering about 4mile. The weather let us down, so we went home early but will go back in the summer, with a bigger tent. The hole of Horcum looked brilliant, so that is something to look forward to walking next time.

We have just spent a superb weekend on this site with the added bonus of superb weather, great facilities ( E.H.U. Showers, toilets, baby washing facilities, children's playground petting animals, watch the milking )on par with club run facilities, friendly owners & staff. We can see why you need to book well in advance as it is in a great area plus convenient for coast, Flamingoland, Eden Camp, North Yorks Moors Railway, I walked to The Hole of Horcum in 5 minutes from the site gate. Travel through Hutton le Hole to The Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge for a great meal.
