This is a lovely farm campsite. Very reasonably priced for what you get - nice spacious, well kept pitches. The toilet/shower/washing up facilities are all excellent. It was a bit of a walk from our pitch at the top of the site to get to them but we didn't mind this as its a lovely stroll past the various farm animals (pigs, goats, donkeys etc).
The owners are very friendly and helpful. Although the site is quite high up it is well sheltered by trees to one side of the site.
Great location just on the doorstep of Dalby forest, with great cycling/walks/Go Ape etc and not far from the coast. Pickering is a short drive away for good shops and provisions.
We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back again!

What a really lovely site.
We booked it on the strength of reviews from others. At one point before we left I thought I'd made a mistake but as soon as we arrived I knew I hadn't.
It's not far to Whitby and Sandsend, past RAF Finingdales and through some truly beautiful countryside. Pickering is just a few minutes down the road too and Malton is not too far away either.
It was really cool to see the cows being milked. Angela was a well of knowledge and happy to answer our questions.
The toilets and showers were always clean with plenty of hot water. The building was warm too.
We pitched our tent on a sheltered spot, pitch 7. Very generous pitches as well. There is a slight slope but it wasn't enough to bother us.
It was a really lovely holiday which my kids loved.

This is a great campsite, the pitches are level and huge and have EHU. The toilets and showers were kept amazingly clean and we did not have to queue for either facility. The owners and staff we met were all friendly and welcoming. The play area is fine and there is plenty of space for playing. There is a lovely dog walk through a little wood which is very dark on a night, nice & spooky.
Pickering isn't far by car for shops and fish & chips.
There are no negatives to this lovely place and at £13 per night EHU, it is amazing value too.

Just spent 7 days at this site. I can only echo what other people have already said. Superb site with excellent facilities. Would definitely return for another stay.
Local area is great for walking. Goathland is a few miles up the road for all you Heartbeat fans. Thornton Le Dale is about 7 miles away and worth a visit especially the motor museum, (£2 each entry).
We ate twice at the Black Bull Pub, just south of Pickering on the A169. Fantastic food, in fact the best Rib Eye Steak I have ever had (all steaks are £11 on a Monday and Tuesday. Huge Yorkshire puddings. Worth a visit.

Came home last night after 5 days at Marfit Head farm and I have to say what a hidden gem. Brilliant facilities - sooo much hot water, exceptionally clean toilets n showers, play area and you even get to see the cows been milked (although don't stand too close to the wall or u'll end up with green poo in ur hair hehe)
Large pitches so we had a 4 man tent and a 2 man tent which we just used as a bedroom.
Angela and Abi are lovely and made us feel very welcome.
Close to loads to see - Loved Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and National trust Nunnington Hall.
Can't wait to go back next year but for longer this time. X

We spent 6 nights at Marfit Head last week. Although the weather was awful, the welcome was warm.
The owners and their family are lovely and are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. They even gave my family a tour of the milking parlour which was really interesting.
The pitches slope a little, and some can be exposed in windy weather, but they are massive, and will fit the bigger tents.
My children liked the pig, goats, chickens and donkeys that you can feed / pet.
The facilities are outstanding! The 2 blocks of unisex showers / toilets are clean and modern and the best I have seen on a campsite!
There is a decent playground for children.
Marfit head is ideally located on the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors with Whitby, Pickering, Staithes and Scarborough all within easy driving distance.
The exceptional Dalby forest is a few miles down the road.
We have been to numerous sites around the UK and this is without doubt the first one I will return to. We will be booking for next year shortly.
Thanks Angela and Trevor!

Just got home from 4 night stay at Marfit Head Farm. The pitches are more than adequate for any unit. This is a busy working Dairy Farm but the owners go out of their way to make you welcome on site, 450 head of cattle in the herd to milk twice a day. And you are always welcome to have a look in the milking parlour. Angela very informative and welcoming despite having her own family and house to run.
Toilet/Shower/ Washing up block is more than adequate and kept clean at all times. Lovely to see the cows, goats, donkeys, hens and pig. And to feed them. There is a kids play area which is much appreciated. I don't have a bad thing to say about this site.
Ideally placed between Pickering and Whitby on the beautiful North Yorks Moors. Highly recommended and cant wait to go back.
ALSO. Many thanks to the Caravanners who handed in my daughters lost DSi. Very honest and decent of you xxx

Another visit to Marfit Head Farm, this time in a tent, our other visits have been with a caravan. Once more, we had a great time. This is a great site, no club, pool, shop, but what you do get are facilities that are second to none, very large pitches with ehu, and the pleasure of staying on a very well kept site. The owners are superb, and the whole site is a credit to them.
Situated on the North Yorks Moors between Pickering and Whitby, it is ideal for exploring the moors and the great coastal locations. Well done all at Marfit Head Farm.

Well what can I say. By far the best site we've stayed on. Huge and I mean huge pitches. Clean fields. The facilities are spotless with quirky loo seats and shower curtains. Towels, plug in freshers and cleaning liquid and mop for people to clean after themselves so to keep the place lovely. Plenty of showers and loos no ques when I was there, hot good showers with no charge or door code. Freezer for iceblocks. Small dog walk wooded area. Info stand in loo areas. Pizza delivery to site (*!) Play area; kept toddlers entertained and gave teens somewhere to meet and have a chat. Hundreds an hundreds of cows to look at, also donkeys and goats. And a pig! At the farm house they sell fresh eggs 6 for a quid although we never tried them. The staff. Although very busy running the farm. We're always very very friendly, approachable and genuinely looked pleased to see you. Cost wise, this is by far the best value camp we have ever stayed at. Overall 10 out of 10 and definitely a site we will stay at again.

Stayed here July with husband and our boys aged 11 and 9. The pitches are very wide and more than enough room for our huge tent. Without a doubt the cleanest shower/toilet facilities we've ever come across. Whatever time of day or night they were spotless, soap and towels provided. Never had to queue to use (free) shower. It is a working diary farm, didn't really need to speak to the owner other than when we booked and when arrived but she was very helpful and all the other staff we came across who were working with the cows were friendly and polite. There are other animals there too and a small playpark for the children. A fish and chip van visits on Fridays through the Summer too!
Fab base for exploring the local area, Whitby and Scarborough are 30 mins in either direction, also visited Falling Foss waterfall, Hemsley Castle and Rievaulx Abbey. Pickering is 6 miles down the road and there is a Lidl Supermarket. We paid £14 per night for EHU, well worth this and we will return at some point.
