We stayed for a long weekend. We had a fab time - the facilities were always clean and tidy, there was always hot water, the showers are free to use and there is a wash up point indoors for you to use. There are also baby changing facilities and a children's play area, along with many animals to visit!
The pitches were clearly marked out and huge! We took a small tent but will be taking our big pod tent next time as there is ample room.
Angela and Trevor were only too happy to help and always wandering around site checking that things are ok. At £3 for adults and £1 for kids it is very reasonably priced.
A brilliant site - taking our neighbours there for their first camping trip next weekend and no doubt we will be back again after that.

We have just had 2 weeks at this excellent site both the farmer and his wife were very friendly, the farmer let my 3 grandsons and other children on the site watch a calf being born and they loved to feed the pygmy goats and liked the friendly black pigs they also liked the play area. The pitches are big and well kept, the toilets and showers are very well equiped spacious and clean, it was good to be able to buy sausages and burgers from the farm for the bbq. The site is in an ideal position for nearby Whitby, Dalby forest, Scarborough etc. An excellent friendly site great value for money. Thank you from the Hughes family hope to be back again next year.

We had booked for a group of 28 people (7 pitches, mostly families) to camp for the weekend and had a thoroughly good time. The scorching weather certainly helped (though watch for coastal mist / fog if visiting Whitby), but the location was also excellent.
Being fairly high up on the moors there is a slight risk of wind when putting up tents, but there is a good line of trees offering shelter depending on its direction. The farm is a working dairy one, and you can certainly see this from the campsite (packed silage mountains!), though not in any way that takes away from the camping field itself, which was slightly sloping but generally very good (grass and firmness). The site is clearly well maintained.
The toilets and showers (2 of each) are not extensive, but are very well laid out (you feel like you're at home in them) and very clean. There is also a small playground for kids and some fascinating pygmy animals to entertain the kids (pigs and goats).
But to save the best until last, the welcome and hospitality from Trevor and Angela was wonderful and made us all feel at home. Trevor is always good for a chat and information on the local area - milking is at 5:30am and 4:00pm if you want to catch it. A big thank you to them, we would certainly think of returning when next in the Moors.

This is a truly fantastic site.
The owner's are very friendly, and even though they have a farm to run too, they're never too busy for a chat.
The camping field is very big, with clearly marked pitches, which are the biggest grass pitches I've ever stayed on. The field has a slight slope, but nothing that causes a problem.
The toilets and showers were kept very clean, with plenty of hot water and loo rolls!
It's a good site for kids, plenty of space to play in. Plus they get to go and see the cows, pigs, and goats.
If staying in that area, I wouldn't now consider staying anywhere else.

We have just got back from our first camping trip with our 22 month old daughter. The staff were very friendly. Toilet block very clean, would like to see some shelves to put your toiletries on though, but apart from that brilliant.
The playground needs to be updated, with maybe a slide, sandpit etc.
Will definitely return.

We just came back from a really lovely weekend at Marfit Head Farm.
The site was wonderful, each pitch had plenty of space and didn't feel at all crowded.
The owners Trevor and Angela were friendly and helpful.
Showers and toilets were clean and much nicer than some campsites I've been to.
We were there for travelling around to local Abbeys and Castles so the site was ideally placed for us, and I think my favourite bit was definitely the pigs Pinky and Grace who were like little friendly dogs.
I would definitely go back for longer next time.

I’ve just returned from six days at Marfit Head Farm, this is a fantastic caravan site, it is well kept and pitches have lots of room.
The owners Angela and Trevor are very friendly and helpful, on my way to Marfit Head Farm my car developed a fault which made the engine run on emergency get you home power (not a lot when towing a caravan) having explained my problem to Trevor who was very busy at the time he stopped what he was doing and five minutes later produced a piece of plastic pipe that fixed my problem.
The toilets and showers are very clean and quite roomy compared to some others.
I was on a walking holiday and this site is ideal for walking and cycling.
The local shop in Lockton had everything I need and on some walks a visit could be planned as part of the end of the walk.
I was fascinated watching the cows being milked, if only the rest of the world could be as calm and peacefully as cows are whilst waiting their turn to be milked.
Great site, I have already booked another five day visit.

My wife and myself spent two nights on this site (Sunday and monday), upon arrival we were greated by the owner who took time out to welcome us (this is a working farm) and offered advice on places to visit, walks, cycle routes and essential information on directions to the nearest pub for bar meals and light refreshment.
The site itself consisted of two large fields both of which were very well maintained and the grass cut short on our visit, the pitches were of a very generous size in my opinion and even though there were only about five other units on our field at the time, I do not think it would feel crowded it it were full.
Although there are only Two toilets and showers which were spotlessly clean, we did not have to queue at any time, though perhaps this would not be the same on a busy weekend.
The only possible drawback to this site is the very busy main road it stands on. There was quite a bit of traffic noise, though this was dulled by the trees and became almost unnoticable after a very short while and was more than made up for by the surrounding views over open countryside.
Trevor and Angela are very friendly and welcoming, we shall definitely be back and I would have no hesitation in recommending this site to others.

We have just had a first camping break at Marfit Head Farm and we could not have chose a better site.
The owners are really friendly and helpful and make you feel so welcome.
This is a working diary farm and the farmer let you watch milking, they also have pygmy goats which our kids fell in love with they are really tame and love bread.
The pitches are really big, flat and well looked after.
The toilet and showers are spotless and cleaned often.
The surround area to the farm is stunning with the national park and is only about 25mins away from Whitby which is a lovely scenic drive.
We will definatley be coming back to this site soon.
Thanks for a great break.
