We have just come back from a wonderful 6 nights at Knotlow farm. The site is lovely and very well kept, everywhere is clean and tidy (much cleaner than many others we passed on our travels around the area!).

A very peaceful site, no road noise and loads of space to choose from spread over 3 or 4 fields, we were there for the first week of the summer holidays and had practically a whole field to ourselves, it got busier at the weekend but still plenty of space between tents and only 5 min queues for the shower even at the busiest time!

The new toilet block is brilliant, spotlessly clean, loads of hot water and free showers - (you get a token when you check in to use for the showers which gives you one shower for each night you stay, showers last for 5 minutes on a timer which is great as it means people don't spend hours in there!).

The washing up area was a great plus too!

There are loads of walks from the site, a couple to local pubs which is always handy!

All in all a great location in the peak district and a beautiful site! thank you, we will be returning next time we come to the area!

We stayed at Knotlow Farm for 2 nights (Fri-Sun) in order to try out all our new camping gear. What a lovely campsite. Stayed on one of the 5 hook-ups. Site was very quiet on arrival due to poor weather with a few more tents arriving over the weekend. Site is really laid back and has an away-from-it-all atmosphere. Beautiful countryside.

New toilet block was fantastic. Loads of hot water and very clean.

Highly recommend a walk over to the Bull's Head pub in Monyash. Excellent pub.

All in all a great weekend and would definitely come back again. Thanks Margaret.

A 3 night break away from the children.

Lovely Friendly well kept campsite. We were very impressed with the great new wash block. Clean and eco friendly toilets and Warm showers.

Open fires allowed (but would like to mention the £5 per night charge to hire a compulsory fire basket).

Walked along Limestone Way to find the Bulls Head, Monyash, a friendly welcoming pub with great facilities.

Would benefit, from our point of view, with having an adult only field for those without children.

All in all a great place to escape, with good clean facilities.

My friend, 11 year old daughter and myself stayed on the very pleasant campsite here a few days ago. We also took my friends dog. They are happy to accept dogs as long as you are responsible and ensure it is well behaved and clean up after it.

The owner was friendly and hospitable from arrival onwards. We were able to purchase a fire bucket and kindling and logs from the farm. Being able to have a camp fire was a real boon as my daughter, who had not been properly camping before, absolutely loved toasting marshmallows at it.

The space for camping is plentiful and we were certainly not too crowded, although I am aware this would vary depending on holidays, time of year etc. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous, the location is very peaceful as it is quite a distance from the nearest road and we woke up to birdsong every morning. There are lots of things to do in the nearby towns of Matlock, Buxton and Bakewell, and there are short walks that you can do from the campsite itself.

The toilet and shower block was kept very clean and there was always toilet paper! There might be a problem with the number of toilets and showers at busy times, but it was not a problem for us at all.

We had a lovely time at Knotlow Farm and would highly recommend it.

We stayed at Knotlow Farm on spring bank holiday weekend, the weather wasn't brilliant, however we had a lovely time.

The new toilet block had just been opened credit to the owners and tradesmen who were working through the night to get them finished for bank holiday!

There is now 4 indoor pot-wash sinks, 4 showers and 5 toilets in ladies and 4 showers, 3 toilets and 3 urinals in gents, and also a family room with baby changing facilities. There is plenty of hot water and the showers are amazing!

The site was fairly busy but didn't feel over crowded. We found a lovely pitch by a drystone wall which reflected the glow from our fire basket at night!

One afternoon we walked along the limestone way footpath to The Bull's Head pub at Monyash,(20 min walk) lovely village and fantastic local pub.

Overall the site is clean and well run with good facilities. Only downside is its fairly spread out so would advise cycling to toilets, there is bike parking provided outside!

Recommend this camp site if you're visiting the Peak District.

We've just got back from a weekend camping at Knotlow farm and we were very impressed by the site. We stated on the Chestnut site, which was fine. The new toilet block opened on Saturday and the facilities in there were modern and clean. A shame the family room wasn't open yet, but a good addition when it is.

The site was clean, the grass kept short and it was signposted from the main road. Only thing that would have improved this site for us is maybe a swing/slide to keep the children entertained, but as we were only there 2 nights, it wasn't a problem for us.

The owners were friendly and helpful.

We would recommend this site.

I stayed in the new Yurts which are owned by Long Valley Yurts (you book with them not the farm) and it was my first time in any kind of camping capacity!

We loved it, spotlessly clean showers and loos, yurt was really nice, thick duvets, comfy bedding, easy to drive up to. Really safe for kids to run about, very very quiet site, if you want facilities or life don't come here!

The whole point of this site if get away from it all. The showers and loos, and washing up area was much nicer than I expected, but then as a first timer I think I was expecting horrors!

I would definitely go again and would recommend to friends. One thing to note in particular, this Company is flexible with dates and arrivals, so do ask if the package doesn't suit.

My dad stayed in the farm B&B which was perfect as he could join us and the kids but had somewhere to retreat to.

My kids are already asking to go back.

Huge site with plenty of space, great views and very friendly helpful owner. Good value. Very limited toilets and showers until new block completed. If you don't want to queue for toilet then use the right-hand portableloo opposite which is clean, works and doesn't smell. Left hand one has broken flush.

Would definitely stay again. This site is likely to get busier once the new toilet block is complete but there is so much space I doubt it will ever feel full. One mile from High Peak trail so bring bikes, also useful for cycling to toilets if camping in one of the further fields.

I have just returned from my third weekend visit to the site (which must say something). I have always enjoyed staying there, albeit I haven’t stayed during a busy summer weekend.

The reason why I return is that the sky is fantastic over the site. On a clear night there are a million stars in the sky and it is fantastic to sit by the rented brazier and just take it all in. I certainly didn’t find the air traffic a problem. The few planes are at high altitude when they pass over (I never heard any noise) and the vapour trails lit by the setting sun are stunning.

The location is really good for walking. I would recommend circular walks along the Limestone way in both directions. It is also possible to find many other nice walks in the area including the Lathkill Dale and High Peak Trail.

Very relaxing stay despite the weather but the ground did not become boggy around the site and a good access road leads right through to the farm.

The facilities are probably not of the highest standard housed in mobile cabins but they were always kept clean and well stocked although small queues did occasionally develop.

Strangely this site quotes only 30 pitches even though there seems to be a lot more space available in the three fields surrounding the farmhouse which had all been mowed short so wellies were not essential as with other sites.

We opted to have a fire for the two nights we were there which I think was £5 per night and £2.50 for a bag of wood I doubt they would mid if you took your own though as long as it didn't damage the field which is very well kept.

The pubs are quite a walk the nearest one I clocked was 1.5 miles away on the A515 the menu looked good but we opted to cook our own food. I would definitely stay at the site again but I would gladly pay a bit more if a modern brick washing block could be built.
