The site is fairly sloping in many places so probably not great if you cannot manage that. But there is an upside to that which was that there were lots of open spaces for kids to play. Also great to see all the families just having a good time, toasting marshmallows on the brazier etc.
May sound like hell to some folks but its all grass so no noise from bikes etc on roads, just good family fun.
With it being a peak weekend we were sceptical about the facilities coping but there was always a toilet or shower vacant and always clean.

Lovely welcome and a very clean well organised campsite in beautiful surroundings.
The pizza order was brilliant and the kids loved them!
Highly recommend.

Stayed here for a weekend. It's in a lovely location, easy to find and the site is clean, well serviced and well organised without feeling regimented.
You can choose your own pitch on a designated field and there's plenty of space- although I don't know how much busier the site would be without covid restrictions.
Showers and toilets were spotless- 20p for a 2min shower and the water was always hot. The takeaway pizza service was great. You can walk up the hill to a nice pub, about 40mins, and there are lovely walks straight from the site. Dog was v happy.
Would definitely return.

Had a great weekend. Check in was easy. There are three camping fields. It looked like two for families and one for adults. The adults field is on a slope with some flat bits.
Toilets and washing facilities all clean. Masks required for both. Felt very safe. Nice pub with large beer garden (again felt safe) 15 minutes walk away in Monyash.
The surrounding area is very nice with good options for walking. Other campers were polite and no issues with noise.
All in all a very enjoyable weekend.

Great campsite, lovely location. Showers, toilets and pot washing facilities excellent. Would stay again but we would request the Hazel
Site or field on the right as the one we stayed in was a very long walk to the facilities and the majority of plots on a slope

It was the first time that we have stayed here but definitely won't be the last. The campsite have stopped taking DofE groups and so we knew that we get a peaceful break!
We pitched our tent on a relatively horizontal part of one of the fields and the views were fabulous. There were very few people camping (still the school term) and we had the field to ourselves which was great. Unfortunately, our airbed pump had blown a fuse and would not work, but the owners were very helpful and lent us theirs.
Loos/ showers and pot washing area were always clean and tidy and the grass was cut regularly. The limestone way crosses the campsite, so we could walk from the tent and we also watched people trying to work out where they should be walking.
Showers are 20p for 2 minutes, ample time for a decent shower and good value too.

We have had a lovely holiday on this really great campsite. We found it to be clean and to have excellent facilities. The site was busy as it was Bank Holiday yet the toilets, showers and (indoor) wash-up were not overwhelmed. Water was hot and the showers good value for money (2mins for 20p). The kids loved the little vending machine which did have sweets but also milk for those emergency moments. Additionally, we tried out the breakfast which was delicious. Staff were super kind and helpful and all in all you can't fault the welcoming service.
We stayed on the Chestnut site which was sunny but not level. Loved that you just turned up and chose your own spot, also that fires were allowed (fire baskets for hire).
The children were a little disappointed that there was no playground or designated play area initially. However, in time it seemed that the kids gravitate towards the small pond by the toilet block where they spent a lot of time 'rescuing' tadpoles from certain death.
The little village of Flagg is a short walk away but we didn't find anything to do there. However, in the opposite direction, all via footpath, is Moneyash which claims an excellent pub. The food looked delicious, we can vouch for the brownies and the really fabulous children's playground.

Just returned from this lovely tranquil site which is perfectly located for tissington and monsal bike trails. It is on a working farm and we enjoyed watching the sheep and cows in the next field. There is a small wildlife pond so young children need supervision. No dedicated play facilities but plenty of space to ride bikes play with a ball etc
Electric hook up shares a field with 4 yurts but these were only occupied at the weekend, there are several other mostly sloping fields without hookup so a very spacious feel.
Several overnight Duke of Edinburgh school parties while we were there meant early morning and evening congestion in the showers at times (4 in the ladies and 4 in the gents). Cubicles were rather snug, they have hooks on back of doors and a curtain to stop clothes getting splashed with cute hanging basket for toiletries but no seat or shelf. You need a supply of 20p coins. There is also a family room with toilet, basin and large shower which would accommodate a wheelchair. All were cleaned regularly but the drains were sometimes slightly smelly.
In the same building are 4 washing up sinks with plenty of hot water, a freezer for ice blocks and a drinks machine for hot drinks and cold cans 80p. Maps of local area and tourist leaflets. There is a small bike rack outside also useful for waiting dogs. It is quite a walk from most of the site so a torch is useful.
You can hire fire baskets and order breakfast baps and pizzas from the friendly and helpful reception which has a tiny shop. Several pubs that serve food are nearby. Supermarket is in Bakewell.
Given the number of cyclists visiting the area I am sure a larger covered bike rack would be a welcome addition. Somewhere that allowed bikes to be stored for the night.

The location of this site is spot on, it is so peaceful and has excellent views over the fields.
The site is made up of 3 camping fields, they are quite sloping and a bit of care does need to be taken when choosing your pitch, however it is possible to pitch relatively on the level so to speak.
There are toilets and showers for both the men and women and also a family room and pot washing facilities- all located together in one building, it is a fair walk if you are pitched at the far end of the first field. We visited over the bank holiday and the site was fully booked, however we didn't have to wait for toilets/showers at all but we did have to wait for pot washing on one occasion. The facilities were ok. Not the best and not the worst, the showers didn't seem particularly clean if I'm honest but they were ok.
The ability to buy breakfast rolls and freshly made pizza's is a great little extra to the site as is having the chip van visit on the Friday evening after our late arrival it was great to be able to get some food without having to cook.
On the whole, we really enjoyed our stay- our first camping trip after a couple of years break and we would visit Knotlow farm again but probably not on Bank Holiday as we hope the showers etc. Would probably be cleaner out of peak times.
