This is the first campsite that we've stayed since started camping last year and it was very nice. Perthshire is absolutely beautiful and a lovely part of Scotland. There are some excellent walks around the campsite and also up to Bruar Falls which is not far away. We had our dogs with us so they loved it.
The campsite itself is very well kept. The grass was lovely and they were constantly maintaining it and the facilities were clean and more than adequate.
The reception has a wee shop which stocks the main essentials. They also freeze freezer blocks for a charge, have a small games room and I think they have internet access too.
There's a putting green which you can use and there's a play park for children.
In Blair Atholl itself there are two small food/drink shops (at opposite ends from each other), there's also a chippy and pizza place not far from the campsite. The village pub is really good, has a beer garden and does great food, plus you get to take dogs in. When we were in for a meal one night I think there were six other tables of people eating all with dogs lying under the tables.
We only planned to stay for two nights but ended up staying for five. I also got sunburnt on the first day (though I can't guarantee it will be like that when you're there). We've since been back to Blair Castle again and will no doubt be back many more time though we do plan to see as many other sites as possible too.

This site is enormous and the reception is the biggest I have ever been in - you'd think you were in a static place. Internet access is available and there's a games room with pool and table footie. The laundry is fab - #4.40 for a wash and tumble but you get lovely warm clothes afterwards! There is a post office, small shop, ranger station, water mill with tea room and a fish and chip shop bar which also sells pizza and curry - all walkable easily from the site. The river walks are great - we were only there for a couple of nights - there is also an atm on the street. I think it may be too big a site if you want your kids to go to the play area without you.

Very professional set-up here, run like a resort with efficient check-in and estate activities to take part in. There's not much in the village outside the site, but plenty going on in the estate itself, and it's great for cycling and walking. Big site, open, long lines of units undivided by hedges or drystone walls and with few trees to separate the zones, so we found it a bit regimented. We also felt hemmed in - sitting outside the motorhome on the sunny side meant we felt too close to the folk in the awning next door. Pleasant views out from higher up the site, but not from the low ground pitches. We were put by the dog walk access on request, and the walks off site are excellent. (Take a tick hook - our dog got a tick on our walk up Glen Tilt.) The toilet block was cleaned twice a day, which is commendable. But it was a pity folk didn't use them like they'd use their own bathrooms - the loos and sinks are together in nice wee cubicles, but there are no paper towels, so folk use the toilet paper to dry their hands and then drop this on the floor not down the pan and although it was nice to have a huge shower room that included a loo and sink like your bathroom back home, it did mean a queue for the two showers in the morning. Showers were scalding hot, free. Free socket for your own hair dryer. Central recycling facilities - I wish these were standard on campsites. And the biggest drying green I've ever seen! Don't miss House of Bruar at the north end of the site - the Sale building is great for high quality clothes at half price or less.

We stayed 3 nights in August, got nice pitches up at the top of the park. This is a site for getting away from it all, make your own entertainment, plenty of space for children, with football pitches, putting and playpark. decent shop on site, good drying green for washing, nice toilets too, sometimes you have to walk to the next block due to cleaning. Great site for country walks and swimming in the River Tilt next to the park, and also good base for mountain biking. If you get good weather you would be hard pushed to find a better site.

Blair Castle is a great site if you want to be in bed by 11pm as there is no noise whatsoever after this time. We were also woken about 7am by children running about. It has a great seven a/side football pitch for kids ,toilets are ok and is the shop. Not a lot to do in Blair Atholl but if you have car you can travel, train station is five minutes from site.

Fantastic site and very well thought out. It's great that the units are round the perimeter and there is a big grassy area in the middle for kids to play on. Very family friendly because this set up makes it easy for parents to relax. And at the same time they can keep an eye on the kids without having to leave the pitch. Also a great mix or pitches so that no matter what your unit is your not segregated into different areas. The hotel across the road is good and a bonus is it's dog friendly. As is the site and the Castle grounds. A 10 minute walk takes you to the 'local's' pub where you can watch the footie and have a game of pool. I can't comment on the facilities we didn't use them as we we on a fully serviced pitch.
I think Blair Castles web site lets the caravan site down. It's much much better than the impression the web site gives.
We will certainly return.

Our 2nd visit here. Nice campsite. Very busy but clean. Friendly staff at reception. Clear instructions where to pitch. Toilets clean and push button showers. Other people camping also very friendly. Good walks in area and free access to Blair Castle gardens which are lovely, though peacocks very noisy and up early! We took our son and his friend who spent the whole time playing football in the massive grassy area or cycling on the road which goes round the whole campsite. 10mph speed limit so very safe for kids playing. Good chippy just outside and Blair Atholl hotel served yummy food with dogs allowed in too. Shop also just outside site was very handy.

The setting of the campsite at Blair Atholl is beautiful. The walks from the site were stunning, some of the best in Scotland and the castle grounds are lovely to walk around and for the kids to explore.
The campsite itself is well set out and great for keeping an eye on the kids, with the central open space.
The only thing that marred our holiday was the toilet and shower facilities, which were supposed to be five star. The toilets were a nightmare at peak times simply because although there was plenty of water pressure, some took at least seven minutes for the cisten to fill. This was unpleasant as most people assumed they wouldn't flush and left them. It was difficult to shower in the 'improved shower block' without soaking all of your clothes and shoes and the sinks were too small to shave and wash in. There were toilets in the shower cubicles which meant that there were queues for the showers which weren't even being used for showering.
The site was really busy, which is good for the management and income, but the ground didn't have any time to recuperate between campers.
It is a lovely spot to be and if the toilet/washing facilities were rectified, it would be a lovely campsite and we'd be back again.

Excellent site. Toilet blocks also excellent have been modernised to a very high standard. Staff very friendly and helpful. If you have children plenty of space for them to run around. Blair Atholl Arms just a few minutes walk and they do lovely meals and snacks. The site itself has quite a few good walks around the estate. Will definitelt be going back

This site is very well run and maintained, you are given specific instructions as to set up on your pitch.
We paid for a serviced pitch but looking at the site we would have more choice and been able to go to the back of the site if we had just gone for electric hook up.
The toilet block near to us was very clean but very dated, we used the one near to the entrance wich looks nothing from the outside but inside the toilets and showers are superb, I think they plan to update the other blocks for next year.
Dog walking is either along the castle drive, keep your eyes peeled for red squirrels or along the river which is just great, I would compare it to aysgarth falls.
We took advantage of free access to the castle grounds which was really good, dogs allowed.
Across the road is a small but very friendly take away, fish and chips, pizzas and burgers etc.
There is also a very nice beer garden at the side of the atholl hotel.
All in all a great place to spend some time.
