We stayed one night at this campsite and it seems a very well organised, well run campsite. In order to ensure it runs well we were given exact instructions down to the orientation and location of parking our vehicle on the pitch. (This made things a little tricky in terms of the pitching of our awning as we were informed that we could pitch the awning onto the grass, but given the parking instructions, it wasn't exactly possible to accomplish this.)
The big bonus of this campsite is the surrounding Blair Castle estate which you get free access to. The Castle grounds are pretty and varied. It's well kept without being artificial. The campsite is also close to the falls of Bruar and Pitlochry.
If you're looking for a quintessential campsite, then I think this is more than adequate. I'm not exactly sure what motor home and caravan facilities are, but for close to 300 pitches, there were only 3 showerblocks, and our showerblock had 2 showers and about 6 loos for the women. It didn't feel like a whole lot, but we were only here for a night, so I'm not exactly sure if it was enough or not.

Great campsite, will definitely return. Well marked pitches that you are shown to on arrival. Very nice toilet / shower blocks, the block nearest the reception had a bath and free hairdryer, always clean, never busy while we were there for 3 nights. Loads to do in the surrounding area, nice takeaway accross the road and a shop on site with a good selection. You get a good discount off the castle entry price and free access to the castle grounds. Lovely family quiet but friendly the birds made more noise than anything else!

Great site been here 10 times over the past few years, always found the staff to be very friendly, and helpful, apart from April past when I was told off for having 2 cars near the pitch even though the site was half empty. However good to know they do check what is happening on site.(charged £9 for having 2nd car on site)
Good reception/shop/games room, lots of open space on site. Great walks around area.
Toilets are normally kept clean however a refit in April 2008 to one block is very badly designed as its impossible to keep clothes and towel dry in the shower cubical. Whole Toilet block has been turned into one big wet room.

I came here with my wife on the 15th of april for 2 nights. The reception is very large and you are greeted with a very warm welcome. The showers and toilets are fantastic, you even have a radiator in each toilet and shower cubicle. There are loads of spots to choose from and a big childrens area. Next time I go I'll go for a seviced area as its only 50p extra a night and although there was loads of rabits and red squirrels I wouldnt go near the trees again as the crows wake you early in the morning. Blair athol is very scenic, has a hotel, a couple of shops and a cash machine. The campsite is right next to the castle road and campsite users get to view the grounds for free. Pitlochry is only 7 miles away. It is a great site and will be going back soon.

We went here because of the great reviews, and in the main were very happy with the site. Great playground; area for ball games; walks around the site (shop sells red squirrel nut mix - we saw a couple just on the way to the castle & back); lots of toilet blocks with lovely hot showers; good shop. The staff were very friendly, though the lad dealing with us was slightly clueless - he 'pressed a button' taking our booking and now couldn't find us in the system! Eventually found us in the 'emergency' pitch after a slight panic about whether the previous occupant had left. This was in the overflow part of the camp (North Park) - right at the back of the site, next to the path to the castle, which was lovely. On the downside, the ground was very rocky (the lower pitches all seemed fine) and on the Friday night, the tents were very close to each other - certainly not the 3 metres our rules®s said there should be! Couldn't find any baby changing (we have a toddler in tow). Information about the local area at reception is limited, but I guess you could do a websearch upstairs. Because of the ground and the crowding, I'm only rating this site as 'good', though I think it could rate an 'excellent' down in the main sections. Local pub (turn right out of the main entrance) the Atholl Arms does local beers and great food - very child friendly as well. We will be returning, but at a slightly less busy time and booking well in advance so that we're not up in North Park.

Situated on the estate of Blair Castle, in the village of Blair Atholl this large site is fantastic. Although very busy the pitches were uncrowded and the hard standings very level. The enormous open playing field in the centre of the site added to the feeling of space. The numerous toilet blocks were spotless, being cleaned on a regular basis, and showers were readily available when needed. All staff were pleasant and eager to help. On site there is a small shop, large airy games room, laundry, internet access & children's play area. The estate also offers many activities such as deer watching and trips around the children's farm. There is a reduced entry to the castle for those staying on the campsite. There are also numerous marked walks around the forests of the estate ranging from 1 mile to 10 miles. The village is only a couple of minutes walk away and has a couple of pubs , post office and a few shops. Only stayed for two nights but could have stayed a week. P.S. If sign on entrance says site full - ignore and ask anyway.

Could not fault this site on anything. Reception staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly allowing us to choose our pitch at time of booking. The wardens were also very helpful; we had a problem with our mains connection which the warden tried to fix for us then let us borrow a new connection cable for the remainder of our stay free of charge!
Toilet blocks very clean and warm. Good dishwashing facilities too. The grounds are immaculate and the site is very dog friendly with many walks in the area immediately surrounding the park too. I liked the fact that tents and caravan pitches are mixed together and not kept separate. Lots of open spaces too. My favourite thing had to be the ice-cream van visiting the park in the evenings - ah bliss!
Lots to do in this part of the country. We were only there a couple of days and visited Queens View, Pitlochry, Glenshee and enjoyed countless varied walks in the estate (Glen Tilt Car Park is a good starting point for these - booklet available in reception). We will definitely return to this park again & again.

Just back from a great weekend, this site has it all. The pitches were clearly marked and spacious. All staff were very helpful in whatever you asked them. The toilet blocks are the best yet that we have come across. Nice and clean with plenty of good sized showers. The children had a ball, there is a big open grassy area in the centre of the park away from cars. It has a play area and ample space for games of rounders etc without annoying anyone. Will be going back there for sure in the near future.

Just got back from a wonderful weekend at this site. As stated here before, the site is well looked after, toilets were heated and cleaned regularly. The only downside was there are only two showers for each gender in each block (think there is about 5/6 blocks) Was quite busy when we were there but it felt like we had lots of space and were not hemmed in at all. There is a huge green area with space for football, pitch and putt and a kids adventure area. There is also some covered benches so you can eat out of the rain if you need too. We had electric hook up, the area set aside is near the caravans, all seem to be flat and all have good views. Not sure how many pitches are reserved for tents but there were at least 10 of us on there at the weekend. They are also close to a toilet block and dish washing area. Close to the campsite is a great takeaway open until about 9pm and a few hotels which serve food. A couple of pubs and two shops, there is also a post office and a cash machine. Would really recommend this site and can't wait to visit again.
