We spent two nights at this campsite and were very excited due to all the great reviews we read. We were allocated pitch number 199 which looked right over to the playpark. There are plenty open areas for kids to play football etc.
There were quite a few toilet blocks dotted around which were all kept clean and were checked regularly.
The weather was a bit mixed during our stay but there is a games room for older kids to use with a pool table and a nintendo wii that can be used but at 5 pounds an hour I did think this was a little steep! There is an on site shop with all the usual bits n bobs but did not use this so cant comment on prices.
The caravan park is kept well maintained and although there are over 200 pitches it does not seem overcrowded.
We did not have enough time to visit the castle as we would liked to have. There is plenty to do in the area. We had a visit into Pitlochry which is a nice town to visit.
I would definitely return to this site and recommend it to anyone.

We have stayed here on numerous occasions but have to say we were disappointed this time.
Let's get why we were disappointed out of the way 1st, stayed 3 nights and on the 6 occasions I visited the toilet block (block 5) 5 out of these found it ranging from not very clean to unpleasant with a blocked toilet and vomit in one of the sinks, given this was nearly lunch time and had obviously been there from the night before.
I appreciate on a site as large as this it can be difficult keeping on top of these things but this is the first time we have seen anything like this here and we've been when it's been far busier.
Anyway, play park has been updated since our last visit and is very good,
Large number of hard standing pitches which are generally easily accessed and mostly level.
Access to the site from the main road is excellent, lots of space in front of reception, good roads around the site.
Shop well stocked, decent range of breakfast cereals etc, can you guess what I forgot?
Site overall still well maintained but dare I say not as well as before, hopefully just a blip from what we consider the usual good site.
As for the local area, hotel across the way sells a range of beers from the local brewery and for this reason alone is worth a visit but the food is good and the staff friendly also.
Lot's of walks/mountain bike trials, great location without having to go to far north.

This is a great and spacious site to visit. We have been several times, and will continue to go there. We normally prefer to choose one of the many fully serviced pitches, which has a great view onto the large grassy play area. There are also a large amount of standard pitches.
The toilet and shower facilities are all clean, spacious and well-maintained. There are laundry facilities within the main reception block.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
The site is ideally located at the southern edge of the Cairngorms just a few miles north of Pitlochry, so is within easy reach of The Highlands and other attractive locations around Perthshire. However, the A9 is a notoriously dangerous road with many road traffic accidents, so take care when travelling to and from the site.

Just back from first camp of the year. Had amazing weather for time of year.
We booked the family pitches with EHU. They are based on the edge of the site along a fence by the river tilt. There is maybe 10 pitches in this area for tents the rest of the area is for touring caravans. The pitches will fit any large tent. Ground very level(once you remove all the pine cones).
Toilet facilities- there are at least 5 blocks around the site. The one we used which was close to our pitches had around a dozen toilets with sinks in the unit. Two large showers with very hot water.
The pot wash area is around the back of the toilet block, with two sinks. Toilets were spotless when we were there with no waiting, but early in the season I suppose.
Plenty of drinking water taps dotted around the park.
Play park area- the play park facilities are excellent for children from toddlers up to teens with swings, slides, climbing frames ect. Also a huge grassy area for ball games with picnic tables around the park area,a few are covered.
Shop- we didn't use the shop so cant comment much, although it looked well stocked?
Laundry- there are about 6 washers and dryers that cost around £2.50 per wash, you get tokens from the shop. There is also a fantastic drying room that you can hire a locker for £2 for 24hrs(we used it to dry of towels).
Other facilities- there is also a games room with pool tables, table football and tv,s.
I think this is a fantastic park for camping or touring, the park is large but very well laid out and spotless
There is no cafe,or bar on site but just across the road there is a cafe/chipshop (very tasty) they do sit in or take away, and they have a lovely picnic area as well. There is a well stocked store just around the corner,or a coop in pitlochry 5 miles away(very expensive).Heard there is a couple of nice pubs in the area as well which we didn't get around to visiting.
Blair castle is next door.Cant comment on it as we didn't have time to visit.Looks worth visiting(next trip)
So all in all we had great weekend for our first shot in new outwell Tennessee tent(which I also love). We also met a lot of friendly people on site who have seasonal pitches for there tourers. This is a very family friendly site and we cant wait to return, if we can get booked as it is very popular.

This was a great caravan site- we were there almost 2 years ago but would certainly return. It is slightly hilly but location menas that's not a problem and pitches well spaced enough to allow drive on anyway.
Lots to see nearby and lovely walks in Blair Castle estate lands with great paths and well marked.
Plenty nice eateries around too
Another which we will return to sometime.
Some good deals exist at certain times of the year.

Stayed just one night (as planned) on our way back from the wilds of northern Scotland. Quite a change from the informal sites we'd been using, here we were parked up all facing the same way in long neat lines. It might look tidy but it doesn't work terribly well if you don't know your neighbour and you're expected to share the small patch of ground between the two 'vans - particularly if your neighbour has two small white yapping dogs.
Having said that though, the site was quiet overnight even though it's by far the largest we've ever stayed on and it was busy that night. The loo block near us was well heated and clean when we used it. The castle gardens are free to look around when you stay at the campsite. It all just seemed a little soulless.

After having the first few days of our much needed summer holiday, not go to plan, we headed home and began searching for sites to go and spend the remaining holiday time on.
We came across this site and liked the sound of it.
When we arrived there, the friendly staff gave a detailed route to our spot, and a map to follow.
The site is large, and can be quite cramped, but the saving grace is the large area of grass in the centre of the park, the heart of it, where families play footie and kids spend time at the play area there.
This is a well appointed area, giving the kids plenty of room to run around in without bothering others or playing too close to other units.
There are five toilets blocks on the site, and although clean, I was disappointed in them, as I have been on less impressive sites with better toilets.
The showers were one temperature, something my husband was horrified at, he showers in almost cold water, and there was only two shower cubicles per block, so the wait was long.
The walks around the site were amazing and we loved going out and walking down beside the river tilt.
This is also a great area for Sam, our westie, and the site was full of pet lovers alike, but no mess was found on the site, the walk has dog mess bins, which helped.
You can walk from the site, down beside the river and under the bridge, taking you to a lovely fish and chip shop and pizza place, where there are areas outside where you can eat al fresco!
This was a fantastic site that was the saviour of our summer holiday, it has now set a bench mark for all other sites we look at.
I felt relaxed and very at home on the site.
Only a couple of things that are negative.
One, I have said already was the toilet/shower blocks.
Two, the site works on a one way system, and where this is good for road saftey for kids, it leave you stuck if you struggle to park up, this is due to my last criticism, some of the spaces are tight and awkward to get into, we tried our best, but ended up getting stuck and having to drive right round the site again, after asking two people to move their cars, we finally got set up.
All in all a great site, that I will most definitely be making regular trips to, but asking for an easy space to get into next time.
Put a smile on your face and holiday here.

We visited this site for a quick weekend at the beginning of the summer holidays and what a treat! The site was very well kept, the toilets were very clean and well maintained, the wardens were on the ball with all quiet on the site by 11pm.
Our children had a great time with lots of freedom to play football or use the fantastic play park! The reception centre has tv facilities and even stayed open a little late to allow the big kids to watch the end of the world cup football games.
The take away directly across from the site was pretty good. The Atholl Arms is also worth a visit. Plenty of walks/ cycles to do in the area. All in all a great place to visit.

We spent 5 nights here recently- 2 adults and 2 kids.
Booking process over the phone was quick and easy, as was check in on arrival.
The site is large and very busy. They are particular about the direction you pitch your caravan in, which can make it quite tricky as some pitches have others directly in front or behind. We ended up having to push our caravan out of pitch to hitch up to leave.
There are a few pitch areas, and we had one of a few hardstanding pitches in a mainly tent area.
This wasn't ideal as it was cramped and noisy.
The toilet block was nearly always filthy. We soon learnt to watch out for the cleaner and go for a shower after they had been. The water was far too hot and our youngest daughter couldn't go under the shower.
The kids loved the play park and big space in the middle of the site to run and play.
The area around the site is lovely. Blair Atholl village has usual amenities and is friendly. Try the Mill museum cafe, the food is lovely.
Blair Castle is also worth a visit, even if just the gardens- they are stunning.

Lovely site in grounds of castle
Toilets and facilities clean.
All staff were very friendly and help us with information on walks and general enquiries.
We went to a cafe just across road as forgot gas cooker and the food was lovely and staff friendly.
Pub also in walking distance with friendly locals and fellow campers.
Views from site amazing and plenty of marked walks all over.
Shop within walking distance to when turning left out of camp.
Just outside camp gate they had some kind of highland long haired bulls.
Tour of castle well worth a visit, bag pipe playing when we were there.
Would return again
