Stayed here last August and the facilities are fantastic. Lots of clean toilets / showers with plenty of hot water. The pitches were clearly marked and lots of space between. All kinds of things to do on site including a visit to the magnificent Blair Castle right next door. Easy access to local amenities. Nice and peaceful with the most spectacular views - cant recommend enough

Fortunately, my kids didnt have to go back to school until the 18th April so I thought we'd travel down to Perthshire and camp. Found a few sites that sounded good and always call ahead to ensure Im not required to book (I also think you get an idea of friendliness of staff etc) and I spoke to a very pleasant man who assured me there would be spaces. This was an understatement! We literally had a choice of ALL pitches. There are some static caravans and obviously a number of touring caravans there (it appears there are a lot of tourers who are there permanently). However, we had an enormous bit of grass in front of us which meant the kids could play quite freely without my usual worry of them disturbing the other campers. There is a great playpark and though we didnt use them, a very clean laundrette, a games room, a small shop and theres even internet access. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.I asked about meals out and I was given about 3 or 4 recommendations. The toilets were very warm and clean. There are only 2 showers in the ladies but are both huge cubicles with wc, sink & shower which is ideal when you have younger kids. My son said there was even a bath in the gents. I suppose when its busier the lack of showers could be a problem though. Considering everything, the price for 2 nights of £32 was excellent! (I had been £63 for 2 nights at Glenmore) and will definitely return as price also includes entry to the whole of the Blair Castle Estate (& reduction on entry to the castle) which we just didnt have time to explore. The surrounding area is glorious and Pitlochry is only 6 miles away. The only negative was that it lacked any sort of atmosphere but we were the only tent, Im sure it would be wonderful in the summer.

Just got back from a fantastic weekend on this site, this is the 3rd time we have been here and is fast becoming one of our favourite places for the weekend. The very high standards have continued from previous years which is apparent by the number of campervans, caravans and tent pitches occupied. Spotlessly clean throughout, with site personnel very busy keeping the place in shape. Although the site was almost full to capacity it was still very quite in the evening and during the night.

Been here many times, site is great. I'm a bit of a "wilderness snob", and the park is perhaps a bit large for me, but it's in the middle of some great fishing/walking/cycling, and within a few minutes you are out in the wilds. The Atholl Arms nearby has great beer and food. Toilets are usually pretty much imaculate, check in is very friendly

What a fantastic site, wonderful views, many walks from the camp site, gentle & difficult depending on your ability, pick up the guide from reception. Really hot during our visit & we were able to swim in the river. Internet access in the modern reception block really useful. Toilets/showers cleaned everyday, they did get busy, but nothing to worry about, as there were plenty of blocks to choose from. Recommend Highland Evening at the Castle & a Castle Visit if you want to soak up the atmosphere. Visit the House of Buera just up the road, Country shopping & gifts with local food produce. Very large Grass area in the centre of the campsite, fantastic for all types of ball games: football, tennis, rounders etc (adults included!) plenty of room for all! Very busy when we were there for two weeks, but room for all types of set ups & never felt over crowded. International bi annual Scout jamboree on while we were there which nearly put us off going to this site, but the camp site was so large & the scouts where in a completely different area not to disturb the main site & all was quiet after 11.00pm. Recommend the hotel in the Village for a good meal - child friendly too.

Brilliant site, check in/out is efficient and friendly. I used a fully serviced pitch with no problems. The toilet blocks were clean and warm. Despite nearly 400 pitches the site did not seem busy. It has a 9 acre field in the middle which is open space, with just the kids play park in the middle, and you can hardly see the caravans on the other side. It is worth a look at the site on google earth as it is very high resolution. Blair castle next door to the site is well worth visiting. Using the caravan park gets you into the gardens free (normally £5.40 for a family ticket) and you only pay the upgrade (£13) to get into the castle. Just take your pitch receipt with you. The only criticism was a lack of basic stock in the shop bread, papers etc. but it is the end of the season, and they must be running down for the winter.

Picked Blair Atholl site initially because Rough Guide to Scotland mentioned it. Thought it was beautiful, clean and well maintained. Was more than we usually fork out for a campsite at £14 a night (we had a tent) but was well worth it. Regretted moving around to try other campsites as this was far and away the best. The tent area had decent flat pitches and a wonderful view of the hills. You could hear the occasional train and also the A9 but these were not too intrusive. Some crows in the trees were noisy at times though! Site is huge (32 acres) and being part of the Blair grounds it has been well landscaped with attractive traditional stone built loo and shower blocks placed at intervals around the site. The loo and shower blocks were warm and very clean. There were 2 showers per block and these were in their own cubicle with a loo and basin. The showers were hot and were the push button type, but this were fine as unlike some other sites, you didn't have to push every other second! My only very small gripe would be there wasn’t a seat to sit on to dry your toes and I personally didn’t fancy sitting on the lavvy! I think also its rather a waste of space to have a shower with a loo and they could have used it to have more showers. I didn’t have to queue at all for the showers - there were only a10 tents or so but still alot of caravans. Perhaps I was lucky. There was a helpful reception with a small shop and games room and large green spaces for kids to play in as well as a dedicated children's play area, and a mini golf course. The site is a few minutes walk from the village and Atholl Arms hotel (which serves ok food) and also Roundhouse bar. Would definitely go to this campsite again.

As with the comments above, faultless site, must be the best we have stayed on as well, wonderful scenery, large pitches, 16amp hook up, well stocked shop, large playfield for kids, close to castle which was marvellous, we were there when they had their Celtic night, brilliant display. Toilets impeccable, clean site throughout, well done, will definitely go back and would give it 10/10 on everything.

We returned to what is now our 'old faithful' camp site and regretted not having decided to stay here for the 2 weeks of our holiday. I can't fault this campsite in any way except that it is not open all year round. The scenery is beautiful, staff welcoming and helpful, toilets clean and grass well maintained. I would highly recommend hiring bikes from the village and spending a day exploring some of the area this way - it's great fun. There is so much to do in the surrounding area whether it be walking, cycling, taking the car to see things or even if you don't want to go anywhere you will not be bored.

We stayed at Blair castle for a week in July. I have posted a review on this site before as lancs rover. The place was as pleasant as I remembered it, however, it was extremely busy!. No sooner was a pitch vacated than it was filled again!. We were right in the middle at the back of the site and felt a bit "hemmed in". I would still recommend anyone to go to this site but perhaps not in high season (July & August) We had a great week all the same, the weather was hot and sunny and the locals were very friendly i would suggest that you try the struan inn for a meal or relaxing drink: Turn right just after the house of Bruar and left at calvine. Highly recommended.
