We visited here with a bit of trepidation after reading some of the reviews.
Our pitch was slightly water logged but we choose not to ask for a move as relatives had arrived earlier and had everything in place.
Great shower block and facilities on the site were all ok.
We went into the club (personally I wasn't looking forward to this with the previous reviews) but everyone was very well behaved, the smaller children were up dancing and there was a cabaret singer on who was very good. We had a different guy the next night who was even better. The children aged 13, 11 and 8 enjoyed the small games room. The pub area didn't allow children in which was good. The drinks were reasonably priced so a good night was had by all.
The wind did get up but what do you expect perched on top of a cliff.
We had a walk into Whitby which took about 15 minutes - 20 on the way back due to walking back up the whitby steps. Better off wearing a sensible shoe instead of a sandal as it was a bit water logged in places.
We did get stuck on the pitch but once people around saw we were in a bit of a pickle they came and helped push us off. Very friendly bunch.
Overall the site was clean and tidy and the chap who met us and gave us our keys seemed cheerful enough. The price was reasonable. I would certainly go back again.

This was our first visit on this site and our newly invested motorhome. We have never done this before, had trouble putting the awning up but a nice gentleman couldn't stop laughing at us and kindly came along and gave us a lift (thankyou very much to you sir). The showers and toilets lovely and clean and warm cant fault it at all, the club is great for families with kids. Good lay out and if you don't want to join in there is a nice quite area in the bar with little rooms off. The cafe had a good choice of food and reasonable prices to piping hot. will be definitely be returning .

We booked this site and paid in full and we really wished we had not. The road up to our pitch was in a bad state of repair it was also tight and had stupid bollards at the side you have to be really careful. The pitches are unlevel and will be very boggy in bad weather. The water and toilet emptying points could not be further away! We paid well over the top and we will never know how these campsites can charge £2 a night for a dog and £2 a night for an awning. Only positive points about this site is it has fantastic views and a decent toilet and shower block. Overall view it is far too expensive for what it is ! Please note they do not have service pitches and there is no hard standing

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this camp.
Our party included 2 adults and 3 children aged 9, 11 ,13.
We decided to use this site because you don't have to use your car to get about and we enjoyed our first stay. However I don't think we will be going back. This is because of the bullying and bad language some of the children there were doing.
When our children went to play on the park they were told to go away (although using extremely bad language) That it was their park because they are there most weekends. It soon became apparent that these children were left to their own devises while their parents were in the clubhouse getting drunk!
The clubhouse is very dated and extremely noisy you can't hear yourself think. It reminded me of a working men's social club. They do have a smaller bar , but families were not allowed in, although it appeared empty!
It is a shame that certain types of family spoil it for every one else.

What a excellent site :)
Only a steady 20 minute walk to whitby abbey along the cleveland way coast path!
Site is lovely and clean, showers and toilets, pot wash (beware in the pot wash, the water is very very hot!) But these were excellent and very very clean 10/10! Clubhouse was cheap to say it was a site pub! There's a cafe on-site which offer meals to eat in- special foods are currys for £5.99 or a Sunday roast for £5.99 or there a takeaway option to chill out in your caravan or to take in to the clubhouse this includes-pizza's, burgers etc.! Also for the kids is an amusements! For the ladies or gentlemen lol, there's a laundrette which do iron and iron board hire and there's also washers and dryers- top tip in laundrette there's a drinks machine if you like to avoid cues in the shop! As previously said yes there's a on site shop which is also cheap to say it is a on-site- they offer news papers, kitchenware, bread, milk etc. Like your local shop!
Also there's a steep, unsteady coastal path down to a sandy beach- near the bin area!
The site offers caravan hire and touring caravan pitches and motorhome pitches! But no tents- which i love!
Will be returning next year! Especially for the whitby regatta!

We like to stop at this site at least once a year and have always enjoyed the location and facilities it has to offer. It really does have a bit of everything, including friendly staff. A new refurbished toilet and shower block only adding to an excellent holiday destination. The only gripe the wife had (and she does excel at these) was the lack of cloths hangers in the new showers.

A lovely site with lovely views. Pitches are not vey level & we needed to borrow wood from the site to level us out. A previous review mentions the seasonal residents making us feel like we were on their patch, I agree with this totally & that was just the kids! my 2 kids felt a bit like they shouldn't have been there! however, please don't let this put you off.

We had a 3 night break on touring pitch no 109, what fantastic views, pitches are quite small but we didn't put up the awning so it was ok. The toilet and showers are all brand new and were lovely and clean all the time with free hot water. There is a nice club/pub on site which we used once and a well stocked shop. The reception was excellent and the girls helpful.
If you love great views and walks this is the site for you, its just about 20 mins into Whitby and if you like longer walks its 5 miles in the other direction to Robin Hoods Bay, takes about 3 hours but there is an hourly bus service that brings you back to Whitby. Saltwick bay is a small cove with a lovely beach and shallow water which is safe for children, its a little steep to get down onto the beach but there are steps. Cant wait to go back in the summer.

Our first venture in our new motor home and we stumbled across this lovely site. Situated at the top of the cliffs, with stunning views across the sea and to the Abbey, a steady 20 minute coastal walk to the Abbey and down in to Whitby. We arrived at reception (noticed there was a security barrier at the entrance, very reassuring) and parked up, there is a camp shop, club/pub, cafe open until late at the weekend, play area for children, plenty of showers and toilets, overall a clean and tidy site. It felt as though we had arrived in a small town and it felt welcoming. We went in to reception and enquired about a pitch, we were met with a smile and excellent customer service from the 3 ladies in the office. We were shown a map of the pitches and was asked which pitch we would like - new to camping, I did not know the meaning of some of the abbreviations, too embarrassed to ask, therefore we chose a cliff top position for the views and we thought we would worry about the distance to toilets and showers etc later. However there was no problem, everything was compact and well laid out. Well, maybe I am a novice, I can hear some of you say, but excellent customer service and friendly people will ensure I go back to this site again, and again and again. Well done Whitby Holiday Park 5*****

Spent a very pleasant couple of days on this site, staff very friendly and helpful, facilities clean and efficient. Plenty of water points , waste areas. Decent pint of Theakstons in the club-house, and at £2.10 a pint, didn't take your eyes out. The only fly in the ointment was the £2 per night for each of our 2 Jack Russels, which is a bit steep.
