Just spent four nights at this site. It is a lovely site, very clean with great views and good coastal walks. About 20 mins walk to Whitby. The club on the site was very nice. We didn't use the toilet/shower block but where told that they where very clean, cleaned four times a day. The staff where very helpful. There is plenty to do in Whitby, loads of good pubs and eating places. Heartbeat country just a short drive away. The steam train and boat rides are a must. We would use this site again.

We booked this site for the Whitby Regatta which takes place in August. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The shop supplies all your basic needs, milk bread etc, also some caravan stuff. A cafe is on site where you can get home cooked meals or sandwiches etc. And it doesn't cost the earth, even did a Gluten free meal for us. The toilet block is lovely and clean and gets cleaned on a regular basis, you have your own key for which you pay a deposit. There is a nice bar with a friendly atmosphere. You can play bingo most nights and this is usually followed by live entertainment. A playpark is situated on site and this is well used. We have 2 dogs and there are some good walks in the area. Whitby Abbey, which is visible from the site, is about a 10 minute walk. There are some beautiful sunsets to see over the Abbey. Fish and chips are a must when you visit the town and I would recommend The Silver Street Fisheries, Silver street on the west side, the fish are huge. There are many pubs to choose from and restaurants too. A visit to Goathland (Heartbeat) is a must. Also Eden Camp, Malton is worth a visit, this was a POW camp during WW2. There are many other attractions to suit all tastes in the surrounding area. Needless to say we have booked up for August 2014. I recommend this site.

Just returned from a 7 night stay here and have to agree with previous reviewer about the site going slowly downhill, the showers, whilst clean, are well used and very small [some have no hooks to hang clothes], and no plugs in any of the basins [its small things like this that make a difference]. The pitches can be very uneven although we had pre-booked a cliff top pitch [106] and this was ok and the views were stunning the only problem we had with our pitch was people constantly walking around our caravan[one chap seemed to think he was on a dealers forecourt as he appeared to be viewing everyones vans!] clubhouse was ok [good pint for £3] and the kids seemed to be enjoying themselves. 30 min walk into whitby but not for the elderly or infirm and £6-£7 for a taxi back. This is our 3rd stay here and we love whitby but I think we'll try a different site next time as £221 for 7 nights is a bit steep for a basic electric pitch when you can get a serviced pitch cheaper on other sites

Returned again to this site as its location is just about perfect. Club house prices were reasonable and cafe shop ok too. Kids park is better than most and the views are stunning (pitch 108 is a gud un). It is a good site however a few issues need to be addressed. The access to its local beach is spoilt by the dog owners. There is shxx everywhere. This is also the case on the site itself with owners allowing dogs to run freely around the caravans and not cleaning mess up. The warden does not seem to do a great deal at all. The site is not cheap due to its location but seems to attract some strange campers! the toilet block is cleaned regular but has that smell from the drains rising through the showers. I have sung the praises of this site in the past but cannot help but feel it is heading in the wrong direction. With long grass around the seasonal tourers and some great wildlife growing off the algae covered vans! its just starting to look messy and unclean. Come on owners/wardens mabey your rules need to be enforced a bit.

We have just got back from a lovely holiday at whitby caravan park. Had a lovely pitch overlooking the sea. Very clean toilets and showers. Staff very friendly and a special thanks to the owners for their local knowledge and recommending places of interest. There are some very good coastal walks and a very pleasant 20 minute walk in to whitby where fish and chips are a must and a very good pub at the bottom of the 199 steps called Duke of York. We plan to go back next year.

We have come back today after a weekend on this great site. I agree that it's windy and little unlevel in parts. However after saying that the site is fantastic. We found it well kept, very clean and with friendly staff. We had a nice pitch that looked towards the sea, can't get better than that.

We didn't have time to visit the club but we had a lovely breakfast in the cafe. We basically used the site to visit Whitby which is one of our favourite places - and you couldn't ask for a better site!

We will be back - and very soon!

We visited this site last august and booked quite last minute so were only able to get a pitch with a sea view which cost extra per night. We were a little concerned we were being fleeced, however it turned out to be the best pitch on the site in our opinion and it was well worth the extra money.

The pitch itself wasn't hard standing and was a little lumpy in places although this really wasn't much of a problem for us, especially when one of our neighbours kindly offered us a hand to push the caravan up and out of a dip! The shower facilities were clean and there were plenty of showers and wash basins available so we didn't have to queue at all. We consciously didn't visit the club but we were far enough away from it for the noise not to bother us at all. In fact the site was lovely and peaceful. There was a small park for kids and we have it on good authority from our son that it was great. In fact we struggled to get him out of it at times!

We were blessed with fantastic weather but I could imagine that if the weather wasn't so great it might get a bit windy as the site was quite exposed in places. However, this meant that there were great views of the sea and also the abbey, and we were lucky enough to see some fantastic sunsets.

Whitby itself was either a good walk or a short drive away and the site seemed ideally located for exploring the surrounding coast. All in all, this site was a definitely winner for us and our seven year old has requested we visit again this year!

Stayed here for the regatta weekend. Super location but can get a bit windy at times. I haven't been blown about as much since I was last in the Far East (no jokes please. ).

Nice to see the grass nicely trimmed across the whole site. Shop very fairly priced and the little cafe did a mean bacon roll - good, fun staff too.

Couple of downers: pitches are tighter than a nun's habit; and a good number of the caravans were absolutely manky. One turned up on the Saturday eve looking like it had been dragged out of the bottom of a greener than the Emerald City pond.I almost phoned David Bellamy to tip him off that a whole PhD in universal eco-systems had presented itself in a 10' square chance of a lifetime.

Anyway, not really a reflection on the site per se but does allude to a certain standards deficit on the part of the owners.

Ho hum - what a snob I have become as I slip insouciantly into my 50s.

Spent two weeks here at the end of june, very very nice location on top of a cliff with great views towards saltwick bay and over too whitby abbey as already stated the pitches do get water logged and yes some are sloping some more than others I agree for the sums charged more level pitches and may be a choice of hard standing would be nice on the subject of pitches we where offered a sea view pitch at time of booking some 6 mths in advance which we took up but on arriving found we where allocated a partial sea view pitch which also counts as we where told ! not what we where expecting. The modern clean toilet block was ok youre given a key for a £10 refundable deposit the showers are a bit of a lottery one time hot hot hot next time very luke warm not what you come to expect in todays modern toilet blocks. Small shop on site stocking the essentials, chidrens play area with a range of play things, club and bar also on site, this could be a excellent site with a little time and money spent on it to iron out the niggles

Pre-booked for the 2 night stay back in February so pitches was allocated. Arrived in very heavy rain to the allocated pitches to find they were located on a slope (pitches 11 & 12). the grass was sodden and combined with the slope had trouble trying to manoeuvre and un-hitch which resulted in the car wheels spinning and mud flying everywhere!

Would have thought for the fees paid that hard standings would have been available.

Cannot comment on the facilities as they were not used. Levelling blocks were a must

Didn't spoil our stay in Whitby but would we re-visit the site? probably not we would try one of the neighbouring sites which looked pretty level.
