We have just returned from a bank holiday weekend visit to this site with friends.
The site was quite busy, but our pitches were very spacious, so it did not feel overcrowded. On site there is a small cafe, entertainment lounge, launderette, shop (good, but a bit pricey) and a small kiddies play park.
The toilets and showers were very clean and looked like they had been very recently refurbished. The only small gripe would be that none of the hand driers worked, and you are only given 1 toilet key (£10 deposit) per party, so a bit of a relay when you have males and females both wanting the key at the same time.
All in all, the staff were pleasant and helpful, lovely walk into the Whitby (which is a god send as very difficult to park in Whitby itself especially on a Bank Holiday!).
Site has been improved since our last visit in 2004, but the improvements are reflected in the price hikes. We got a bit of a shock when we realised the £27 night fee did not include the awning, which was an additional £ 2 per night.
Would we visit again - yes, but the attraction is the proximity to Whitby.

Just returned from a pleasant 4 night stay at this park, we stayed on a seaview pitch which was well worth the small extra charge. The location is fantastic with easy access to local tourist attractions.
Facilities on site were cleaned regularly with a plentiful supply of hot water (if any thing to hot!) Reception staff were very helpful, there is a cafe and small entertainment lounge but we did not use either of these facilities.
The park was quiet and well kept, we will definitely return for another visit.

Spent three enjoyable days here on a clifftop pitch overlooking the sea.
The Cleveland Way runs through the site and you can take it North to Whitby (20 mins), or South to Robin Hoods Bay (5 miles). The path to Whitby is easy, although slightly muddy in a couple of spots we found. The 199 steps down into Whitby can be a little sore on the knees, but there are benches at various points if you get out of puff.
Toilets were clean and well-maintained (though there is no natural light in them, so they seem very dingy till your eyes adjust).
There weren't too many water points round the site, though we were lucky in that the extreme right hand clifftop pitch had a water point immediately adjacent to it.
Site maintenance could have been better - we saw many seasonal pitches with grass round them nearly up to the doors - though to be fair, we did see someone strimming round during our time there.
Ground was a bit soft and rutted (recent rains?) and we were glad of 4wd on the way out (though by no means essential).
A little bit pricey I would say, and dogs and awnings are both extra.
Overall nice site and we'll definitely return.

Third visit to this great site. We start off our touring year here and tried out our new side awning
Very quiet time to come, we stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the views and walks. We didn't visit the club, but the shop and cafe are well run, stocked with plenty of food.
Showers/W.C's spotless as ever. Take your wheel ramps and storm straps with you, can get very windy by the cliffs. Site gets very busy at weekends and schools holidays.
The best sun raises I've seen for ages, great place to bird watch without moving too far,
Whitby is a great town to visit, plenty to see and do.

Just spent the weekend here for the first time what a great site,
Staff were friendly, toilet and shower blocks were very clean with plenty of hot water,
Great entertainment for all the family in the night club, and nice food from the cafe were you can eat in or take-away.
The shop sold the essentials, with a children's playground as well, pitches had a fantastic panoramic view, and you can walk along the cliff top into whitby, takes between 15-30 mins depending on how fast you walk
Overall this site is excellent for families or couples we will be going back again

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week staying this site the toilet and shower blocks are clean, friendly staff we found it quiet and peaceful with nice views.
But would like to have been able to have use of a restaurant or bar meals as we felt this is the only thing that let this site down. There is a cafe but only served food like pizza burgers etc. which shut at 5 in the week or 8 at the weekends, so we had to go into Whitby in the evenings,
The bar is well stocked as is the shop, taxis cost around £5.40 from site into whitby or you can walk along the cliff top path which takes about 15 mins

We stayed here for two nights and would have liked to have stopped longer. The weather was warm and it was lovely to sit out and look over the sea.
We paid extra for a pitch that overlooked the sea (on the edge of the cliff) and glad we did it was lovely to have your meals over looking the sea.
The staff were friendly and the toilets were clean and the shop was well stocked. The walk into Whitby was lovely - along the cliff face and then down the Abbey steps, and would recommend the walk from the site along the coast the opposite way to Robinhood's Bay - it is 5 miles and it does go up and down with some steep steps but the views were breath taking and once you got to the Bay you don't feel so guilty having those fish and chips! Although we caught the bus back to Whitby (cheats I know!).
Would definitely recommend this site and will definitely be back again.

Booked this holiday park after finding it online, we have travelled the south west and all of Wales, also norfolk broads area but never the north east coast, despite I come from geordie land. Anyway we booked a midweek break and after seeing how haven etc are run, expected the same.
What a joy! This park actually kept kids under control, it was well maintained and the staff a joy to talk to, the club was enjoyable and people were friendly, the walk along the coastal route to the Abbey was exceptional and the steps down to the harbour side was an experience. Even though my legs have not yet recovered.
The park has a cafe where breakfasts etc are available and have all the facilities a tourer could want. We stayed in a static gold caravan and everything about it was enjoyable.
This park is a must for us again next year only for longer

What a cracking location. Best views of the sea we have had. Even though it was main holiday time the site never felt crowded at all. Staff very friendly, good size well marked out pitches. Wouldn't like to be here when its windy though.
Shop well stocked, entertainments bar was cheap enough but never stayed to watch entertainment. Toilet block was immaculate. Good little park for the kids and a lovely cliff side walk to whitby about 1/2 mile or to robin hoods bay 6 miles.
The path down to the beach has now been repaired which makes the walk down a lot safer. Nice size site that we will be visiting again.

Excellent site let down by patrons who don't care how much noise they make in the early hours and a non existent Warden. If you want peace and quiet go elsewhere.
If you don't mind incredible amount of noise from Club/Pub and those who congregate outside with all doors wide open, this should be good.
Staff are helpful, pity they don't do something about excessive noise.
