Just spent a lovely 3 days on site, brilliant location, only a 20 min walk into Whitby along coastal path, also a 5 mile coastal walk the other direction into Robin Hood's Bay. We caught the bus back which cost £7.20 for 2 adults.
Huge pitches, 10 toilets, 7 showers, heated area.
Negatives - showers, you had to keep pressing the button every 5 seconds for the water, I was told it was to stop kids leaving the taps on!
People had no respect for others pitches, walking from cliff top to the toilets across peoples pitches, we had to put a windbreak up to stop them doing it, if the pitches were segmented with a small fence or bushes it might help, we were getting a bit jarred off with it, our privacy was being intruded.
I even sat at our table on the far end of our pitch preparing food and people just walked through the centre between the camper and me, staring at what I was doing. There was no point telling them as everyone was doing it, perhaps some rules about using the road to get to the shop/toilets etc and not walking through pitches.
Apart from that, it was a clean and friendly site, would visit again but with 2 10 pole windbreaks to stop the intrusion.

A fantastic site, we arrived late at night and got a wonderful surprise in the morning great sea views with the sun shining.
Everything you need on a small site, bar, entertainment, cafe, shop, playground for the children, excellent showers and toilets, all within walking distance of Whitby - the Abbey is all lit up at night - a gem of a site.
Small enough to be friendly but with all the amenities of the large site. Going back this year for sure.

Cost £57.60 for two nights (fri sat 21st+22nd)
Grass was getting cut as we arrived and the machine that cuts the grass doesn't collect it up it just spits it out the side which tends to get everywhere in the caravan. However the views at this place are surreal, I opened my front window curtains to see the sea and boats and opened my side window curtains to see Whitby abbey just fantastic views!
The shower blocks were new and sparkling clean and I often seen them getting a good clean (even under toilet seats!)
The on site shop stocks the basics but beware its £3 for a packet of sausages, the on site club was great and has a small adults only bar and a small room with arcade games for the kids.
The walk along the Cleveland walkway into Whitby is just so scenic took us about half hour which is a gentle stroll with a 2 year old walking a bit and in buggy for a bit.
Well I have told you some of the pluses of the site now I will tell you the only negative:
We went to sleep around 11:30pm and were woken up at around 01:30 by drunken ageing group who were 40 years + singing at the top of their voices with a stereo on so loud am sure most of the site got no sleep. 3 times I complained not a thing done, knocked on wardens door and nothing!

Had a really nice couple of nights here, called in mid-week and was allocated a prime pitch next to the cliff top, very windy, but what views of the bay,sea and Abbey.
Spotlessly clean and well run site, with bar, shop and cafe, had a cooked breakfast on the second morning, very tasty and well priced.
The touring pitches are well laid out and marked so you don't stay over into another pitch, handy if your next to a large caravan with a hanger size awning and wind breakers.
You will need ramps to level you off, this site is local to us so we will go back as soon as possible.

We really enjoyed our weekend here with our children and other friends, fantastic views of Whitby Abbey and coastline although can be quite open to the elements as it is set right on the cliff top. I was concerned before we arrived as to how close to the cliff edge some pitches are but it is well fenced off by two separate wire fences.
Toilet and shower facilities are of a very high standard, you do need to pay a £10 deposit for a key to the block so be careful not to lose it- as we did!
Nice bar but can be quite noisy and is a little dated.
Quite a hike down to Whitby, be prepared or go by car. Overall very nice site and will return.

We have stayed at this site several times now because of its great location. Views through the front windscreen as you have your breakfast are breathtaking looking out to sea over the cliffs edge.
The site itself is clean and friendly and fairly priced. Lovely clifftop walk into Whitby but make sure you order a taxi for the return journey, especially if you go for a night out! Will come back.

Just spent 3 nights at this site whilst touring the Yorkshire Coast and Moors, the fabulous views encouraged us to linger for 3 nights rather then moving on.
We paid an extra £2 for a sea view and were rewarded with views over the waves from the front of the van and Whitby Abbey out the side window, unbeatable.
The facilities were clean, shiny spotless and new looking (admittedly there were only 3-4 vans on site at the time but there looked like there would be plenty of showers etc for busier times)
It was a 20 min walk along the coast path to Whitby (beware of 200 steps down from Abbey in to town if you are in firm)
The staff were friendly and helpful, our dogs were made welcome too.
We'll definitely be aiming to return.

First time on our own with out mam or dad. Most highly recommended. Quiet and lovely views, great walk to the abbey, only problem going down and up the steps! Especially after a few drinks but once get to top (or bottom) lovely views
Went to the club on site, nothing to shout about but could have been the time of year (hardly no one there) good price though and I like that no kids at the bar! And a quiet room if you don't want to be shouting over music. I have a young child but went without her for partners birthday good price for plot for the time or year (stayed for 2 nights)
Shop not the best stocked (could be due to time of year again) and expensive but walk into Whitby and took a shopping list :-)
Shower blocks and toilets excellent no problems at all and never close during the night or when cleaning they do have male attendants but they are very friendly and are fast at there job!
We did get wet walking over the cliffs to get back (after a few drinks) not recommended as not lit at all but very safe all the same. Used the wash facilities for clothes the next day, no one was there to help you but it was early on the morning but after carefully reading the instructions around the walls it was easy to use
All in all with or without kids recommend it and for a little break and relaxation would highly recommend it! I know my mam and dad have been as well and they love it and me and my partner will be going back! 9/10
Also EVERYONE is very friendly get ready to smile and say good morning excellent!

Just spent half term week at this site,we travel in a group and on this holiday there were three vans with four adults and four 11 year old boys. We were very lucky with the weather and although we had one windy night it wasn't as bad as some we've stayed at, so don't be put off by the clifftop location. Which would have been stunning, as we paid for a partial sea view. Only to find the two vans in front of us had parked side way on so the only view we had was of two large vans. Which was a shame but didn't spoil our holiday at all.
Although it wasn't very clear where to pitch there was plenty of room between vans, until we returned from a day out to find someone parked at an angle 2 feet away from my friends caravan door. We didn't see any signs of Wardens so this kind of ignorant behaviour is obviously acceptable at this site.
The toilet blocks were very clean with plenty of free hot water and didn't close for cleaning. As long as you don't mind a bloke cleaning up around you this is a good idea as they went in more than once a day.
The boys loved playing pool in the club at night although us adults found it not to our taste. The 'fusty' smell put me off, so we sent the only dad with them and the girls stayed in the van playing rummikub and drinking wine( it's a tough life)
Whitby is really pretty with the added bonus of it being victorian goth weekend so loads of people were dressed up, it really was fantastic.
The visit to 'The Magpie' restaurant was gorgeous, probably as good as our local Steels. Well worth queuing for.
The boys chose a speed boat ride rather than the more sedate trip around the bay but I have to say it was good.
I would definitely return to this site as the location for whitby is great (even though the 199 steps are a killer) and the site is kept very clean.

Just returned from a 2 night break, site clean and tidy with bar, cafe, laundry etc, as earlier posts have stated quite pricey if you don't use any of the above but for a couple of nights just perfect, showers hot and clean and a well stocked shop, also little playground for kids
25min walk to Whitby over cliffs and was even enjoyed by a 5 year old who walked to Whitby both days, fantastic views from the site toward the Abbey (£14 to look round for a family ticket) its a pile of rocks at the end of the day although probably the most beautiful I have seen, but better views from afar on your route in to whitby,
Take binoculars as seals are evident swimming toward the harbour,
Other way is robin hoods bay for the more energetic, 5 miles on Cleveland way but stunning views,
All told a great place to stay awnings not advised as very windy this late in season, expensive to stop for a week but well worth a couple of night break
