June 2005 Visited site on saturday 12 June, Great location, pricewise we paid £13.50. The toilets were not very clean and the noise level at 1.30am was very loud. We feel we were let down by the management as on entering the site there is a sign saying families and couples only.

May 2005 Location of this site is excellent, situated right next to the old abbey, a ten minute walk to the local pub (which also had entertainment)nice flat pitches, a stream running closeby, situated at the bottom of the horseshoe pass and only 1/2 hour stroll into the town, and cheap too!
However it did have one big down fall. The showers and toilet block, in the tent field although the toilets were basic, the showers were totally unusable (the "block" looked like an old disused porto cabin) there was no hot water what-so-ever to either toilet block, washing up sinks or showers(not sure if these had any water at all). Although the caravan field did have a separate block which had hot water, these were quite small with only three showers for the whole of the site, the one I used was little more than a dripping tap.
Fortunatly we had excellent weather the week-end we stayed which made things a little easier.
This is a shame as generally it is a good site in an excellent location and we would love to stop there again.

My first trip to the site. It was quite busy as it was a good weekend for weather. We found a pitch close to the river. It was very pleasant. New toilet block. Which needed to be cleaned more than once in the weekend due to amount of people on site, We had a very noisy lot near to us who kept us awake most of the first night. But they were soon moved off the site on Saturday morning. And we had a very pleasant weekend after that. I would certainly come back as It was a lovely site in a lovely location. Try the minted lamb burgers from the farm shop on site. Very nice !

This was our first time camping and our little boy was very nervous. This site has a fantastic location next to the Abbey and river, but the facilities were a bit basic and the toilet block could have done with cleaning a bit more often. The owner was very friendly and the shop and pub were convenient. Will definitely be back

Pitches were a bit on the small side. Toilets, not very clean and if you go towards the end of the day take your own loo roll. Showers are VERY hot in the morning FREEZING in the evening. It was an OK site, but that's it. Its close to Llangollen, which is good as Llangollen is a really nice place. The tent pitches were pretty water logged but they still had people on them.

Very picturesque location about 30' walk from Llangollen town centre. Very reasonably priced (£12 per night for 2 adults, a child and a car) but very basic. The toilet block is a little shabby but the showers are free. A stream runs close by and has a children play area next to it (swings, climbing frames etc). It is situated right next to the Valle Crucis Abbey which can provide some night time amusement (v.spooky). Of a day there are a few footpaths nearby with some basic walks to do. I would thoroughly recommend this site to anyone (though I only stayed for two nights).

September 2005 Myself, and 3 of my friends went to this campsite. The staff were very helpful, and the owner was very polite. Is located next to abbey crucis. This is a quiet place, with a stream which runs along side the camp. Although the facilities were basic, we had a really good time.

July 2005 Came on the Friday and went on the Sunday, although they were a bit hesitant at first to let us stay with it being just 2 girls they let us and we had a really pleasent stay.
We will be definitely coming back as soon as and as often as we can.
The site is situated in a gorgeous location with lovely views and a nice pub only 2 minutes walk that serves fresh food.
The facilities on site are basic but do the job there intended to do although we thought there would be electric in the toilet block so we brought our straightners only to find that we could not use them.

May 2005 Stopped here mid-week in May and was the only tent in the field. Camped against the hedge in the shadow of the Abbey which was very nice in the daylight, but a bit spooky after dark, especially as I was camping solo!
I was shocked when getting up for a call of nature to find the tent covered in frost. Facilities were basic, but functional, the showers being replaced while I was there, so the only working showers were on the caravan field. Planning to bring the family here, as the setting is very pleasant, and the prices are reasonable (£3 pppn)

August 2004 I love this site, it has to be my favourite yet.
For a number of reasons. First its location. Situated at the bottom of the famous Horseshoe Pass, about a mile outside the beautiful town of Llangollen, on the site of an ancient Abbey.
The site is cheap, the tenting area nearest the Abbey and next to a stream is has the best views.
The toilet/shower facilities are by no means luxury but do the job.
There is a shop onsite, and several beautiful walks begin from the site. I think leaflets of which can be picked up in Llangollen.
