This was a great little site to visit. We booked into a pod as we were advised beforehand that the field was a bit boggy for camping. The pods are spacious and warm and we ended up booking an extra night and filling it up with family and friends for the same price.
Site was clean and well maintained and the staff were really helpful. Could see how the toilets would get a bit crowded if the site was full.
The rope swings made it for the kids.
Would visit again.

Dont listern to old reviews. What a gem of a site! Excellent location, friendly owners and staff. Shop stocks the basics, but Llangollen centre is only a mile away ! There is plenty for the kids to do, a big field in the middle of the statics and tourers, and our kids love to play on the rope swings near the stream.
The site is very peaceful and relaxing and the sound of the stream and the steam trains in the distance add to the ambience. There are 2 pubs close by within easy walking distance. The abbey grange serves lovely food and staff are really friendly and they have a lovely seating area outside near the brilliant children's play area. The Tea Rooms on site are a bonus, only sampled the breakfast menu and that was lovely - serving their own produce !
Toilet/ shower blocks nearest to the tourers was a little dated but always clean and well stocked of toilet paper- and we never queued. All in all a fantastic site, and we will definitely be going again can't wait to return- also although we haven't used them they have camping pods for hire which look a fantastic alternative to a tent !

Having read the reviews we had mixed feelings about the site BUT as usual with some reviews they were unfounded in their opinions!
The site is beautiful and over looked by the Abbey dating back to 1201. All the staff were friendly and helpful as well as being very well organised. The tent pitches are a little hilly but you can easily find flat areas to camp and are free to pitch up where you like.
BBQ's were allowed so long as they are of the floor and only charcoal is used and many were doing exactly that.
There is a little cafe serving lovely food from snacks to Sunday lunch as well as an on site shop covering the basics but sell produce from the local farm, the bacon was fabulous! There is a stream running the bottom of the site where kids played like he good old days as well as swings etc.
The site is central for what we needed and about a 5 minute drive to the White Water Tubing centre which we were there for, highly recommended!
The toilets were typical depending on who had been there before but kept clean and tidy. Narrow showers but adequate.
Definitely will be returning!

Park has fantastic views of Abbey and surrounding hills etc And is easy to get to. Onsite shop had didn't have very stock. The Onsite butchers we thought we will go and get some burgers for a bbq and all they had were Frozen one's and at £7. 00 for 5 flat burgers was expensive.
Staff were very rude and it was like being on big brother with the security camera's zooming in on everyone's awning etc. There was no recycling facilities at all. Only provision for rubbish was a metal skip right by children's swing area with disposable bbq's at the side of it.
The tyre swing kept our young one happy but could have done with a few more when there is a lot of kids at site. There were also two other swings by the stream with random ropes hanging from tree branches which we thought was very dangerous.
Toilets were very poor only two in the mens and three showers are no where near enough on a site this size the showers had a push button that you had to press nearly every two seconds should have took my cable ties. !The Toilet sewerage tanks were full twice in a four night stay and it had used toilet paper and waste seeping out the drain covers.
Another thing was that the chemical disposal point was right by those drain covers that were leaking and worse than that was the fresh water supply tap only two feet away from the disposal point and when going to fill my fresh water tub in my flip flops really discouraged me from doing so.
The washing up point again about four feet away from disposal point and right by the sewerage leakage separated only by a wooden wall that had only two basins at it was again not enough for a site of this size.
Have got camping pods but in my opinion should have spent that money on improving the sewerage and shower blocks to make the site a lot lot better, Wish I had read these reviews before staying as there are a few stating the same thing about sewerage and toilet / shower blocks.

Booked for two nights but left after one, due to health & hygiene concerns. Wish I'd taken more notice of previous campers reviews before I booked. The skip had overflowed onto the ground around it, the smaller rubbish bins were also full and waste not in bags looked like they had been there for some time. One of my children said they'd seen a big mouse!
My husband went for a shower, tried two of the three showers but due to poor water pressure, not enough water to shower came out. I had a shower in the ladies but was soon fed up of having to press the button every two seconds - no exaggeration.
We were kept awake until 2:45am by noisy neighbours, but when we complained the following morning we were called liars and told we were trying it on. We decided to loose the £20 and move to another site
The site is too far away from Llangollen to walk and although it's nice to be next to the Abbey (you have to pay to go in), we will definitely not be returning.

Beautiful scenery at this site and the stream/rope swings made it quite fun. On our first night the site was extremely busy and 3 ladies loos (2 mens I believe) and 3 showers in each really weren't sufficient. If you managed to get a shower then they were just about adequate but when it's so busy we did feel they should have got checked over more regularly.
We had to report that the drains in the mens loos were backing up and we were told later (when nothing had been done to stop it) that they were aware and it was 'clean water'. The loo paper on the gravel however made us suspicious.
Over flowing rubbish skip could have done with being emptied more frequently too (Didn't see anywhere for recycling).
Quite a walk from Llangollen town centre and the road down didn't always have a foot-path but if you have a car for driving into town then it was no problem.
We took the aquaduct boat cruise. Great fruit & veg shop in the village too on the high street. All in all apart from the issues with the loo blocks we would return, perhaps a little out of season though.

Lovely Site, although bad weather, we all have a fantastic time, this was our first time out in our tent.
Facilities were good, showers were basic but very clean and being right next to a stream, with rope swing there is plenty for the Kids to entertain themselves.
Friendly staff and very helpful. Highly recommended. The field is vast and very picturesque. There is a Pub nearby, well within walking distance and this has a welcoming atmosphere.
Site is also within walking distance to Llangollen itself which is a very nice little town.

Great campsite, this is the second time I have stayed here now and I am always impressed. Have seen various complaints about shower blocks etc, but there is nothing wrong at all.
All is clean, tidy, they are attended to at least twice/three times a day and the showers are warm, which is good! Booking was easy, it wasn't too packed, the scenery is excellent,
Llangollen is a short walk down the road and there's lots to do and see. It's perfect really, cant see why anyone wouldn't want to stay here. I'll be back.

Where do we begin?? Ok, have visited this site a few times but with each stay, it got worse!
Here are the positives. Beautiful, idyllic location in the Welsh valley. Quite a spacious campsite. Facilities quite good. Great for kids with the streams and rope swings running through the site which keeps the kids entertained for hours. 3 miles from Llangolen village, again idyllic. No fuss as to where you pitch. A small shop on site for necessities.
Now for the negatives. Very noisy, especially at night when young groups run around the abbey screaming and chasing each other, until they are removed by security staff. There doesn't seem to be a no noise policy, as there has been many times we have witnessed what could be classed as parties happening around the site. Attitude of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. On a couple of occasions now, when we have been sat around the tent we have been approached by a member of staff and a so called security man, who tends to think talking down to you and waving torches in your face is the way to treat clients. When questioned on their methods, rather than debate or listen to reason, you are told to pack down and leave in the morning. On one occasion we witnessed him be so abrupt to another camper, he was assaulted which resulted in the camper being arrested. All a bit unnecessary.
I know this site has had to put up with a lot over the years but for me and my family, that does not excuse their general management of the campers. I find this very sad as I would have put this site in my top 3 overall. Personally, I would never go to Abbey Farm again, which is a shame as my kids loved it.

I visit this site regularly as its in a perfect location in a valley close to the the picturesque village of Llangollen which has pubs and restaurants and a steam railway and also the river Dee which you can paddle in.
The site itself is on a working farm so there is a farm shop which sells its own produce (the lamb is out of this world) there is also a cafe that does amazing breakfasts, there are 3 main fields, a tent field that does have a few electric hook ups and a caravan and static caravan field and also a another tent and tourer field right next to the Abbey (this is where I pitched).
There is a small brook behind the site with rope swings across it which is perfect for the children and you feel they are always safe as the site is set quite a way back from the road.
I paid £12 per night for my pitch and it was £3 extra for hook up.
The noise level has reduced considerably from my first visit four years ago and there is now a warden who checks everyone is OK without being to intrusive.
Highly recommended.
