Just finished unpacking after a wonderful 10 day stay a Lytton Lawn.
To start this was our first stay at this site and after chatting with my wife and our 2 children (7 & 5) we will definitely be visiting again next year.
The site is leafy, level, compact but in no way small or cramped with large well spaced out pitches all being electrified, the staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities clean and plentiful and the shop well stocked, it carries all the essentials and they are reasonably priced.
If I had to be critical the shower cubicles could be a little bigger (but they're free and warm and if that's all I can think of, they must be doing something right).
The use of the main Shorefield site 2 miles away at no extra cost came in handy on our 2 non sunny days, we used and the kids loved, the pool. We finished the visit both days with a meal in the restaurant, again well worth the money.
Out and About? we spent 4 days on Avon Beach at Mudeford (the nearest decent sandy beach), 2 days at Shorefields main site, 2 days exploring the New Forest and a visit to Beaulieu and Lulworth Castle. All in all a great summer holiday made all the more special by a great site and some beautiful British weather.

Just adding an up-to-date review of this lovely campsite. We originally booked for 5 nights but extended to 12 and would have stayed longer but the site was fully booked!
We stayed on a premier pitch which, although we would have preferred to not be on the hardstanding (tarmac for caravan and gravel under awning), was roomy and well set out with its own drainage, water and electricity. The price at £38 per night is what you would expect for this location and during the summer holidays. This also takes into account the facilities and entertainment included at the sister park a couple of miles away.
The toilet and wash facilities were lovely and clean and the launderette came in handy. The shop was well stocked and easily accessible, so the children could nip and get the extras! The play park was basic but well used and it felt very safe letting the children roam and have their bit of freedom.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Great location with plenty to do in the area and we would definitely recommend.

Just returned from a 10 night stay at this camp site. The camp site and facilities were very clean and well maintained, and the staff very friendly. Despite the site being very busy we only had to wait a couple of times for the wash-up area and never in the toilet / shower facilities. Our boys made good use of the field, games room and table tennis. There was some noise from the nearby road but we quickly stopped noticing it. The swimming pool at the sister site was a real treat especially after a day walking or cycling in the New Forest.
The local town has a good range of small shops plus coffee shops and restaurants. Lymington was very good for shops including Waitrose and M&S Food. A short drive from the site at New Milton there is a Tesco. A short walk (10-15 mins) is the Royal Oak where we had an excellent but expensive meal.
The site is a good base for the New Forest and day trips to the Isle of Wight(ferry from Lymington) but not a base for travelling west we found the roads towards Bournemouth tedious and heavy with traffic.

Having stayed for a weekend at this site I was amazed at how clean and tidy it was and how friendly the staff were. Although on a slope the pitch was a nice size and not so hard that you cant get pegs in. Well stocked shop, kids playground and immaculate toilets/showers made our stay great. Be aware sat-nav users. You will end up in a little old ladies garden 800 yards away.Ha ha
Shorefield is only 2 miles away and while their facilities are fantastic, the food in their bar was a joke (half hour wait for nachos then get yesterdays cold ones only to send them back and get the same ones back microwaved. Also never received salsa or sour cream) I would NEVER eat there again. Also be aware that to get a cab from Lytton Lawn to Shorefields,so you can drink, will cost you £6.50 rising to £9.00 after 11pm.For 2 miles ! I live in London and a black cab would be cheaper.
None of my moans are down to this site which I give 11/10 as it is excellent and we will definitely be back.

Visited this site for 2 nights in July 2009. The site is lovely. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It was one of the quickest and easiest check-in's I have had. Very well laid out site. Pitches are plenty big enough. The site is set in lovely surroundings with a small but very good play park and a field for walking the dog and a field for the kids to play. The facilities were excellent. They looked as if the staff really took pride in them. Spotless toilets and showers. Drying room was pretty much brand new. There was forever a member of staff walking round cleaning. Even down to brushing cobwebs off facias/ windows and lampposts! A good little shop (Spar) even if it was a bit pricey, but that is to be expected I suppose. Best thing of all though was the quiet. Even the slightly 'Noiser' campers were in bed and quiet by 11. Lovely!
Nice and close to the New Forest, Poole and Bournemouth
All in all an excellent site an we will be returning one day.

Have just returned from a weeks stay at Lytton Lawn.
Have stayed in the area for a number of years however, this was the first time at this site.
First impression of the site was that it was kept clean (although our pitch on arrival had bits of rubbish we had to remove - 10 mins later someone was walking round picking up rubbish).
The toilet block was kept clean, however, only used the one block and unlike other sites I've attended there are only showers and sinks to wash in, no cubicals with sinks in which some people prefer to use.
The main problem we encountered was the road noise. We were pitched along the row 209 - 217 and to us the road noise was really bad. It started from about 7am and went onto 11pm. Not only did this make getting to sleep difficult but also when sitting outside and talking, you had to try and speak in between the cars and lorries going past. Also, after about 4pm you are sitting in shade due to the hedge behind you.
If you can avoid this row for the shade and the next couple of rows for the traffic noise, you will have a good time.
Went to Shorefield and used their indoor swimming pool daily which was lovely, however, the changing rooms are mixed (bit of a shock to a couple of people we saw).
For the surrounding area, Lymington is great as is Christchurch and would recommend the New Forest Tour Bus which runs hourly, but you can get on and off at various locations including, Lymington, Brockenhurst, Beulieu Motor Museum (which gives a discount). Would recommend the White Hart on the way to Lymington who do great food and is reasonably priced at 2 meals for £10 (and not small portions!)

What a find! we stayed Friday - Monday for a football tournament we had 6 pitches together (not a problem with us all booking) Very clean toilets / showers, very very helpful staff very welcoming after our drive, offered our morning papers fresh bread etc. What more can you say will definitely book again. We all had a whale of a time. Children loved the play area / games room playing field & stream. You also get use of the sister site a few miles away with swimming pool, sauna jacuzzi etc etc perfect used it every day

We had actually pre - booked online for 4 days on a sister site, but Shorefields rang us and explained that although they had taken the booking there were no pitches available for our size of tent and offered us an alternative pitch at Lytton Lawns.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the site was very well maintained; very clean, nicely cut grass and well maintained hedge rows. We have a seven meter tent and they had a lovely large pitch that we fitted onto, although we did use the entire pitch (boundary line to boundary line).
All pitches on the site were service pitches (electric) but we did find that our hook up lead was only just long enough to reach our allocated socket. There was a closer supply but it was allocated to another pitch.
Lytton Lawns facilities were basic but were kept very clean at all times. There sister site down the road had extensive facilities including 2 pools, sauna, bars, amusement arcade and entertainment, all available for Lytton Lawn campers. We used there indoor swimming pool during a wet day and it was great, couldn't have been easier, we also had a quick drink and the bar prices were very reasonable.
In conclusion , we would definitely come here again and would have no problem spending a whole week here. Lytton Lawn offered all we needed during the wet weather and the surrounding area supplied all we wanted during the good weather.

We went over half term with our 2 boys aged 8 and 12 - the site was great, clean facilities, good shop, good laundry facilities, friendy staff.
Good all service pitch. Small playground, but big field for ball games - the games room isnt open till March but ours did use the outside table tennis table.
Ths other site with the swimming pool and facilities were v good and ideal in the cold months for free indoor pool. We didn't use the bar but it looked good and there were activities for kids in the day. We visited Southampton and Bournemouth - good for shops - we went bowling in Poole, The Moorlands Park is a good visit for cycling/walks -play park- Go Ape is there, but also not open till March.
The small villages pretty - New Forest visitors centre good for local info. Ideal place to go for Feb break.

Site was immaculate, wardens very helpful & friendly. We stayed 3 days and the cost wasn't too expensive for a premier pitch would not consider staying during peak season due to the cost of the pitch. Although it was very quiet for 2 days be aware that they do shooting on 1 Sunday a month can't remember if it's the first or last Sunday of the month but can be a bit annoying when you are wakened on Sunday morning to a shoot. May be worth checking.
