After finally getting the tow bar fitted to the car we decided to have a weekend here. We have been visiting Milford on Sea for many years, and this year have done 'ice cream at the seaside a month', driving past the site on our way.
It was dark on arrival. Access road is easier than google street view gives credit for. We had a friendly welcome and were shown to our pitch by the warden, who also pointed out the facilities. The only downside is the lead into the the pitch is narrow as it was designed for narrower caravans, so one wheel was on the grass, it being sodden made a track. We use the mover to prevent damage to pitches by the car, so was disappointed to leave a mark.
The pitch was fully serviced, easy to hook up and attach water hose and drainage pipe into the pitch drain. Nicely sheltered by the hedge to 2 sides of the pitch.
Being winter, the games room was closed. But we were happy to walk round the site in the bracing wind.
We visited the sister facility and used the swimming pool for our daughter.
We had fish and chips for a late lunch, followed by an ice cream as we walked along the sea front at Milford on Sea on the Saturday.
Toilet blocks were warm and spotless. The chemical disposal point was easy to use.
We are deciding if Xmas is here or a sister site. We will use this site again, especially off season.

We have been coming to this site for many years and love the friendly staff and spotless shower facilities. The price is very reasonable and you could not fault the location, within easy reach of Christchurch, Bournemouth, Poole etc. And a lot of great places of interest, e. G. Hurst Castle. You can actually see the Isle of Wight from the site!
The village of Milford on Sea is just 20 mins walk away with a great Thai and Indian restaurant, plus at least 2 pubs. If staying at Lytton Lawn you still have the choice to visit the local Shorefield site with swimming bath etc. The shop is small but sells all the basics. We really cannot praise this site and location enough.

Over the past 5 years we have been quite picky when choosing a campsite. We were not disappointed with Lytton Lawn.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted with a warm welcome from the receptionist. The receptionist was very helpful and polite and answered all of our question concerning the camp site and the local area.
The pitch itself (248) was a stones throw away from the toilets and shower block. As the campsite is on a hill side the pitch was on a gentle incline. At first we thought as this being a problem but it was not, the view itself was looking out beyond the trees to see the Needles (Isle Of Wight), what more could we ask for?
Sunday as forecast the heavens opened (all day rain, YAY!) along with strong winds. The campsite is tree lined and as I mentioned the incline was a bonus as the rain did not leave any puddles or wet patches. There are supermarkets and branded shops within 4 miles of the campsite (Milford On Sea, Lymington & Everton).
So we have a dry site that is protected by trees when the coastal wind gets up and rolling. The facilities were good. We did use the sister site for use of the pool for free, there are other amenities at this site although we did not use them. Our youngest loved the pool although one day the chlorine levels were a little too high. The pool is opened to adults until 10pm and children are allowed to swim until about 9. 15. We opted to use the pool in the evening as it does get busy during peak times as numbers are limited for H&S reasons. The changing facilities were very good.
The shop holds quite a decent stock of the essentials including newspapers and magazines, the prices are very reasonable. The staff are very helpful and polite too.
As we are quite picky, the showers and toilets are always top of our agenda for being clean with plenty of hot water on tap. The block is a little dated but cleaned regulary (could do with new tiles), not sure of the ladies block but the men's block greeted you with the radio playing in the back ground.
We found lots to do within the immediate area and within a 90 minute drive, we found one of the UK's beauty spots : Lolworth Cove is a must, its about 38 miles from the site but well worth a visit, the area is just divine. If you love rolling hills and stunning scenery, you will not be disappointed. The sea at the time was quite cold but very clear, although you will need shoes to walk into the sea because it is not a sandy beach. Durdle Door is just a short walk away, or take a trip in the rib that operates from the cove. Bournemouth needs a day, highlight of the day was the Pier Zip wire, book online to save a few pounds. The beach here is very sandy, parking is very and not pricey. We parked along the cliff line and took the cable car down to the beach. If you can, try and visit the New Forest Country Show in July, it really is a day out for the family, as is viewing the New Forest for the country and the ponies.
Mr Pinks fish and chip shop (Milford On Sea) sell good fish and chips, but they close at 8. 30pm.
There is a small park for under 10s and a games room with wifi, I didn't use the wifi as 3G is easily available. This site is dog friendly but we chose to leave our two BTs in kennels for the week due to the travelling, there are lots of walks and a dog field too.
With Poole, Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle Of Wight close by we felt we should of taken a 14 day holiday instead of 7 days. There is much to do and see and will return to the area next year but will camp in Dorset but around Bridport, we would like to see more of Dorset.
In all we would return to the park and would recommend it to anyone.
The only downside that annoyed us was the repetitive noise of DnB playing a little too loud on two occasions, this was soon sorted by the on site park warden.
BTW I did read reviews of this site and noticed that one or two people both on UKcampsite and FB rated it one star, its clearly a 8 or 9 star campsite. To make the campsite a 10 star site, I think the price could be a bit cheaper and the toilet/showers refurbished.

We booked into this site for our sons first camping experience and were not disappointed. The site was easy to find and in a great location. The pitches were a lovely large size and were well maintained and perfect for pitching a tent. The toilet blocks were always clean and the showers hot and there was never a wait, even at busy times.
The shop was small but stocked the essentials and the games room was good fun with table football and a nice big TV showing the tennis. Just outside the games room was a big children's climbing frame.
Lots of good walks locally and a short drive to the small local town.
We were worried about getting a small child to sleep when in a tent but the site was always quiet by evening so we had no worries at all.
Loved it so much we are returning again in 2016.

We have just returned from 5 days at this site. We went with some trepidation as it was part of a larger company but I am completely bowled over. The site was attractively laid out, we had a fully serviced pitch that was cheaper than we were quoted locally for a straight grass pitch with electrics. The site shop is useful if a little limited but there is a Waitrose on the edge of Lymington for extra goodies. The facilities are excellent and clean. There is some noise from a road at the side of the site but it did not spoil the experience.
Staff were really friendly and there were few unnecessary rules although I feel sure they would have dealt with any issues where it needed. The 10. 00am leaving time could be an issue for families - we were away by 9. 00 having put away the awning the previous evening.
It makes a super centre for seeing the area which is a hidden gem. We had trips to Keyhaven, Lymington, Milford and along the coast to Mudeford as well as a lovely day at Bucklers Hard. Looking forward to our next trip. Assume it may be crowded in the school holidays. They offer free use of the swimming pool at their other site which we did not use but feel it is a generous extra.

This was our first stay at Lytton Lawn and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a fully serviced pitch (413) and were disappointed that we couldn't get the caravan level. The tarmac was just about wide enough but it sloped quite a bit from about half way along. We'd bought an aquaroll mains kit but it wasn't long enough. As we'd already set up the rest of the caravan we didn't bother trying to move closer and made do with having our own personal tap.
The site is nicely laid out with very clean facilities. We enjoyed the table tennis by the first shower block and the games room containing a grabber machine, air hockey, pool table and table football. This was also the free Wifi area which my daughter used several times a day. The play area was very popular. The dog field is a reasonable size with room to let your dog off the lead for a run. Next to this a field for children/adults to play ball games etc although I think most children were playing close to their units and as the site wasn't too full this didn't cause a problem.
There is road noise during the day but its not so loud that you can't enjoy birdsong and nighttime was very quiet. We occasionally took our dog for a walk along the lanes close by - my husband found a footpath which we will investigate next time we go. We were given passes to the other Shorefield sites but we didn't need to use these as we had plenty to keep us occupied on site and close by. All in all a very pleasant site.

This is the third time we have stayed at Lytton Lawn and we have already booked again for later in the year. It is very convenient for cliff top walks with views over to the Isle of Wight and trips into the New Forest. There is a small playground for younger children and a small games room for older ones. However you also get membership to use the facilities at Shorefield Main site which includes a bar, restaurant and indoor heated swimming pool. The site at Lytton Lawn is kept clean and tidy, and there is an area to exercise dogs. There are two shower/toilet blocks which are lovely and warm when camping out of season, and are very clean. They also provide a hairdryer. WIFI is available free of charge near to the games room. It is definitely a favourite of ours when visiting the area.

What a great site, reception staff where polite and helpful
Pitches large, on the whole level and well trimmed grass.
Showers clean and plentiful.
On site shop ok for basics Sainburys about 4 mile away.
Milford on sea 30 min walk with pubs, smugglers arms do nice meals and there's a chippy.
Lymington is just a short drive and is a nice little town
After are experience in France see my review of chateau de lez Eaux this site made up for that and at a lot less money.
I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing stay next to the New Forest

Just got back from a couple of days on this campsite which is part of the Shorefield family of parks. We booked on spec on the morning (12th) and were there within 5 hours. However, there was a computer glitch on our arrival and so luckily I had the email confirmation sent! We were directed via map to the pitch which was pretty straightforward. Unfortunately we caught a shower as we were laying down the ground sheet :-(
The pitch was a fair size with electrical hook up (no 236). We got our Quecha 4. 2 XL illumin plus Quecha Pop Up 2 secs with people carrier and place to put our cooking with a tarp if needed. We were a bit adamant about pitching under a tree as it was pretty blustery so all guy ropes out!
The facilities toilet block etc were clean and good and the water very warm (need to be careful with smaller children). The playground was a little small but there is a big playing field next to the dog walking field. Lots of bikes and scooters showing the family friendly nature of the place.
This is a family friendly/dog friendly park and so those who may wish for another camping experience might not be the first option. The access to the New Forest was great. Smugglers Inn pub was a popular place to eat and a good experience. The Royal Oak pub was however disappointing from our experience. This was compensated by a Chinese take away in nearby Hordle village!
My only criticism was that access to the toilet blocks need to be considered with a pathway from the field side as people rightly did not wish to have people trapsing across their pitch and it was a long walk around if you were in a hurry! A designated path might be a good thing here.
Also in having Leisure passes for Shorefield was a great touch, however there was a 40min wait for using the swimming pool due to demand especially around 4pm. This might need to be reconsidered by the management around peak time.
All in all a positive experience and we would stay again.
Now onto the next site after a brief pit stop at home!

We have just returned from a weekend break at Lytton Lawn; we stayed two nights in our tent along with our friends who have a caravan. On arrival we were greeted by an extremely friendly warden who gave us all the information we needed about the park and surrounding area. We had a large pitch, alongside our friends, which backed on to the dog field. Both with electric hook up. Slightly sloping; but nothing to put you off. We also found it to be well drained as it rained heavily that night! (The pitches around the edge seem slightly larger than those in the middle, we had room to spare!)
The park has excellent facilities including a small (secure) play park, games room with free Wifi, well equipped shop and two shower blocks. The one closest to us also had waste disposal etc which was safe and clean. There were ample toilets and wash basins with mirrors. Four showers all with separate drying area and fold down seat, fairly small but served the purpose. Most importantly, lots of hot water and powerful! There was the added bonus of full use of the facilities at their other site 2 miles away with a pool and entertainment, all free of charge. If we had stayed longer we would have used them.
The surrounding area is beautiful and the town is only a mile away. There are lots of pubs and places to eat. We can recommend The White Horse for a good (reasonably priced) meal. The beach is close by with views of The Needles, well worth a visit. The cafe there does a fab breakfast!
All in all this is a great campsite, however our stay was spoiled a little. This was not down to the site or the lovely people that work there, but the other campers and our location within the park. We were by the dog park and football field. Although we couldn't hear any road noise there was lots of shouting, especially very early in the morning. There were many large groups that stayed up late whilst we were there, so this may not suit everybody.
We would recommend and return if visiting the area again.
