A lovely site which we will definitely return to. Clean facilities and no over crowding. The pitches are clearly marked out and were large enough to comfortably take our 9 berth tent. There is a small wooded area and a field next door for the kids to play in. Vans are not allowed to park next to pitches but can be parked by the front gate.
It is quite expensive for the serviced pitches, but I guess you get what you pay for. You also get to use the facilities at the nearby sister site.

We loved this site as it has the best of both worlds - the peace and quiet and natural play for the kids at Lytton Lawn and the excellent organised facilities at Shorefield. We really didn't see much of our two (aged 6 & 8) as they played down by the stream each day building dams and bridges with a gang of other kids from the site - much like we used to do as kids at the back of our house! There is a leaflet available at reception with directions of a guided walk across woodland and fields which we all enjoyed (about 1.5hrs), and we cycled into Shorefield through the woods to enjoy the outdoor and indoor swimming pools, fairly priced restaurant, organised activities for the kids such as tennis, badminton, dancing etc. And of course the kids disco at night. My only gripe was the silly rule about not allowing parents to take any photographs or camcorder footage of their own children in any of the swimming pools, which I though was political correctness gone mad!
We would definitely return to Lytton Lawn and also hope to try the other site in the New Forest owned by the same family soon.

We fully recommend this site it was easy to locate. My husband had never been camping before and for a first timer he thoroughly enjoyed his stay. The site was a sun trap when it came out and we certainly had a relaxing few days on the site. Warden and his wife and all staff were very friendly always had a smile ready. Showers were superb believe me I have seen some dodgy ones in past places!Local Rose garden centre up the lane was a lovely place to visit wonderful ploughmans lunch and the staff here certainly made us welcome. We are certainly looking at coming back here in the future. Hopefully September this year. The place to visit is Lymington market on Saturday what a lot of stalls and lovely shops far better than we have at Staines Middx and certainly better than Ashford Middx!

We had stayed on this site previously (10 years ago) in a tent, so we knew the score - higher than average pitch prices but this includes free use of the leisure facilities at the main site in Downton.
We cycled to the (inclusive) Leisure Centre at Shorefields after being told of a short cut through the woods that avoids the traffic. Please ask at Reception for details and they will show you the route on an aerial photo.
Our only disappointment was the quality of the Restaurant which was nothing like we'd remembered. Even though the numbers being served were not exceptional, it took 20 minutes to be served from a small set menu, and the food itself was second rate and lacking in taste - watery cabbage, rock hard roast potatoes and tough vegetables. Very disappointed, considering this was the day of their 50th Anniversary Luncheon.

What a find, quite clean and in a good location. The site staff could not be more helpful and when there was a problem with someone smoking in the loo an extra notice was put up in minutes. The staff had good local knowledge and gave us a leaflet which allowed us to go to Isle of White for only £34.00!
Addressing some of the other points raised in reviews, yes there is road noise and I would not want to be camping on the road side, yes it does flood at the bottom of the field and there is a slope and finally the showers are not easy to clean but I only saw one dirty shower in two weeks. I never had to wait for either the loo or the shower and the site was almost full at the weekends.
The pitches are large, our 12 man tent had plenty of room. You have use of the sister sites with all there swimming and leisure faclities and evening and childrens entertainment. I would not hesitate to recommend the site.

This site looked good on the Website and we were not dissapointed! one of the nicer sites we have been on. No bothering wardens especially with hypo lawnmowers! and yet the grounds were well kept, clean and tidy. Just sheer peace and quiet, we loved it. We also found the toilets and showers clean and tidy. It got busier at the weekend and yet still remained relaxing. It is good how the playpark is fenced and gated with set times when it opens and closes. I think it was 9.30 am till 9.30 pm which we thought very fair.
We were in the smaller premier pitch behind the playpark part accomodating about ten caravans. And yet we felt not disturbed by noise at all. We had our own drain and tap, bigger than normal sites, the fellow campers all seemed so friendly as were the warden and his wife. I found the shop really good, prices were very fair and stocked some really good little items, infact I purchased all the grandchildrens treats from here.
Added bonus were the lovely lanes ideal for walking the dog, going off in 3 directions, also the pretty garden centre just across the way, the rose garden well worth a visit, here they they serve cream teas and light snacks, again too, such friendly staff.
One day we walked to Milford on Sea ( nice little village ) also along the coast walk. Plenty of benches and beautiful views and also Keyhaven really most enjoyable. In all we had a lovely week it was so good that time allowed us to book an extra night, we were so impressed. We are thinking of booking again, really soon, the end of August when all our family are booked on sites in the New Forest, but we are not tempted to join them there, we want to revisit Lytton Lawn as it appealed to us so much, we felt so much at home !

A very nice site.
The wardens are friendly and helpful. In fact only too happy to come out and lend a hand.
The showers and loos are immaculate, absolutely spotless.
The play area is for smaller children but there is a large field set aside for ball games with a goal net.
The shop is well stocked.
Included in the price are passes to use the swimming pool of the sister site 2 miles away. This is well worth a visit as we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We struggled to find this site at first, it's well hidden. First impressions of Lytton Lawn were very good. It's an attractive, well organised site, with good facilities both on site and at the main Shorefiled site 2 miles away.
The playground is modern, clean and tidy, if a little uninspiring. The loo blocks are mainly clean(the shower trays weren't as clean - difficult design to clean well)and the showers operate on a push-button which was irritating. Also the shower head is very very high, making it virtually impossible to wash our 4 year old who didn't want water in her eyes! However, there was plenty of hot water.
The shop on site was useful and the fresh bread went down well.
There is a stream at the bottom of the site which led to mosquitoes so bring insect repellent. I was bitten to bits - but they ignored my husband!
After a lovely stay, we encountered the biggest problem of the site. After a night of torrential rain which continued all day, we woke to a stream of water and mud running through our tent. The dogs bed was sopping wet. Unfortunately we were leaving that day so had to strike a wet and muddy tent, my husband fell over twice inside the tent, it was so slippy. As I type, our tent is draped around the garden(thank goodness for sun today!) and I've got most of the mud off.
All in all, we would return to Lytton Lawn, but will be requesting a pitch near the top of the field. To be honest, I don't think pitch 234 should be used for tents! Also it has a lot of passing traffic to the children's playing field, stream and dog area, so isn't peaceful. And it backs onto the dog poo bin which was overflowing!

We stayed here for the bank holiday. We stayed in an area of about 10 caravans which were on premier pitches. When we arrived it was peaceful but by sunday it was full and rather noisy. Nice clean site ,toilets clan enough. Though no extra amenities like swimming pool and entertainment. Milford on sea, a pretty village was a 20 minute walk away. A small pub was at Oveton 15 minute walk. Would stay here again off season.

We have just returned from a bank holiday weekend at the site!
Our party consisted of a mixed group of 20-24 year olds!
Have to say generally a good site.
Showers absolutly rubbish! Ok if like a trickle of water that you have to keep your hand on the knob all the time!
Facilities cleaned between 2-3pm. Although by 8pm because of the families on the site they were in a bit of a state!
Another downside is the poor drainage! We were warned when we got to the site that should it rain we should park our cars nearer the path! A bit concerning we thought! Then on the last night discovered why!
The whole pitch was one big puddle! We were pitch 219. Our friends had pitches 218 & 220 and had the same problem! Avoid these pitches if possible, although they do seem the bigger of all the pitches.
On a good note the location is ideal for exploring the area as Mildford on sea is a short drive away.
We would stay here again if we were down that way again!
