We had a small pitch here for 4 nights and must say we had a great time. The pitch was a bit sloped at the front but not too bad. Toilets and showers always clean and never a queue for the showers although for the additional mens' toilet there seemed to always be a queue! The campsite is beautiful and full of wildlife if you take the time to stop and look. Great butterflies, birds and dragonflies all around the site and the woods surrounding are great. We walked in the pine forest one day and the deciduous forest another and didn't see a soul (except the wildlife) all day - brilliant. It was a very peaceful site despite there being lots of children there. A relaxing place. We thought it was a little expensive but then again we had such a good experience just staying around the site. The shop was ok for some forgotten basics but we didn't eat in the bar or cafe. We hung out by the lake quite a bit as that was another very peaceful place. If you're going walking near Woolacombe and don't mind hills then park in Morthoe £2 all day, much better value than Woolacombes' car parks.

Site easy to find no narrow lanes plenty of room to park at reception. Bit disappointed at the size of pitches, getting on and off the pitch was tight due to parked cars in front of the units. We didn't bother with the awning as there wasn't much room between vans. We were put on the first terrace due to the waterlogged ground where we would have preferred.
Toilet block was average could have been cleaner
But it was busy and grounds were muddy. Thought the site shop was way too expensive, didn't use the cafe / bar so can't comment.
Wouldn't say we would return as it was expensive for what they offer.

Visited Hidden Valley for the first time at the end of the month with friends. Length of stay five nights. We were offered hard standing pitches on the terrace. However as we preferred grass pitches the management offered us alternative pitches in Kingfisher Meadow. These pitches are really large with water, electric hookups and TV points. Lovely wooded area which screened the main road which was not too noisy or intrusive. The whole site well landscaped. Toilet & Shower facilities good. Did not use either the Coffee Shop or Bar so cannot comment. Ideal for exploring North Devon from Woolacombe to Lynton & Lynmouth. And Exmoor. Owners friendly and helpful We will return to this site.

We liked this site and we are fussy, loads of space between pitches. Set in amongst trees and hedges with well kept gardens and grass. Toilets and showers were marvellous They are doing they best for recycling and environmental issues which is good to see. Being in a valley TV reception requires a lead to the booster boxes (Mrs wanted to watch Wimbledon). Even though we were on a hard stand the surrounding ground got very soft. (but it rained and rained before and during our stay) There is a lovely walk through the woods from behind the site which brings you in a circuit to the bar/coffee shop/restaurant. Good dog exercise areas. Down side was the cost of a pup tent £24 for a week! and it must be on the hard stand too. Whilst not the campsites fault it would have been nice to have be alerted to the tick problem in the area every dog owner we passed warned us,our poor mut was covered and even I got one (nearly got sent to the pup tent with the dog rather than sympathy) We would recommend this site and would go back again if we go back to that part of the country

We have just returned from our first holiday at Hidden Valley and we had a great time. The weather was far from ideal but the drainage on this site was fantastic, the rain we had one night I expected to wake up to a flood, there wasn,t even a puddle, brilliant.
The facilites were first class, clean and tidy at all times, maybe the showers could do with extra hooks or maybe a stool? Having Classic FM on while showering is a great idea i,ve never had that before!. Having the TV hook up and water on each pitch was also really helpful and well thought out.
The Wardens (Alf) were great, very friendly and helpful made the stay evenmore of a pleasure.
The only gripe I have is don,t bother with the on-site evening meals, we had a takeaway one night and the chips were awful, the worst i,ve ever had! Another couple we got chatting to said the same thing. There are plenty of pubs locally that do nice food (all child and some dog friendly).
All in all I would quite happily return to this site for another holiday.

We visited again this year and although the showers now have a curtain, and the grass etc is all well maintained we were still a bit disappointed in other areas of the park. Check the bar times if you want to use it as we walked up there only to find it not open that night even though it should have been. Another night it was full of people from a Rally on the site eating so we did not feel we should have gone in as we had our dogs with us. A long story but our dog pulled a claw out the previous day so we had blood all over sleeping bags etc. So planned to use the laundry at Hidden Valley, the machines were not cheap as you would expect but we were told that the dryer would take at least three tokens before it would start getting warm, perhaps it should be replaced or repaired. Apart from that, all OK.

Just returned from a bank holiday weekend stay at this site - we hadn't camped for three years so it was with some trepidation that we set off with our three children (10 yr old and 4 yr old twins). This site surpassed our expectations though - I have camped at many sites, and I have never pitched on a more perfect site - completely level, amazing drainage (it rained A LOT - not one puddle or muddy patch!) water, waste water, hookup and tv point next to each pitch. The pitches were more than adequate in size. The park itself is absolutely beautiful with several nature trails around the park and a small lake to wander around (or sunbathe around in nicer weather?!) plus a small stream which runs right through the park which we saw children playing in happily. It may be that I haven't been camping in a while and things have moved on, but this was the first place I'd been to that had piped music in the toilet block! It was also heated, and very clean. The showers lacked somewhere to put your clothes to keep them dry whilst you washed - a small stool (as I've seen used at other sites) would suffice. We didn't check out the laundry facilities as we weren't there long enough, but we did check out the bar which was very comfortable (and non smoking in advance of the law change which we appreciated) and had a separate games room and play room for the little ones. The next door coffee shop had beautiful views over the park with lots of bird feeders attracting not only the local birds but also the squirrels which all our children loved to watch (and they do a nice breakfast too!). We had Sunday lunch in the restaurant which was very reasonably priced and tasty. The play areas were enjoyed by our children, although not recommended for very young children - I would say age 5+ is OK, and even then supervision would be needed - if they let go at the end of the zip wire they could plummet down a steep bank! All in all a beautiful site - and of course not far from the many attractions nearby, of course the beaches at Woolacombe and Croyde or over to Saunton, and nearby Ilfracombe had plenty to see also. We will be back!

We visited this site for the third time in April 2007 and can say we yet again enjoyed our stay. The pitches were roomy - all with electric if required and the shower and toilet facilities were clean. The children loved the 2 play areas and enjoyed the tractor rides (laid on last summer). The site is also close to at least 3 great beaches (Woolacombe, Crode and Saunton) and there is plenty of other entertainment available on site or mearby. The proprietors seem to be making some improvements to the laundry and washing facilities which will be welcomed during the busy summer period. Previous reviews have mentioned the road noise and that can be a problem - but it hasn't yet affected our enjoyment of the site. In fact, we have booked again for the summer!

As the site owners we would just like to take this opportunity to let it be known that we do take all comments and reviews seriously. We are perturbed to find that a few customers were unhappy, especially as we continue to have a very high level of repeat bookings and many customers return year after year, and continue to send us messages of thanks and praise. Over the past few years we have made every effort to respond to customer comments and as a result have been undergoing significant investment in the park's facilities. There is increased road noise during the peak period, naturally due to the greater number of visitors to the area. The vast majority of our visitors, however find that the the wonderful wildlife and general park ambiance negates the noise, and of course during the shoulder months the park is significantly more tranquil. For the forthcoming season we are taking on additional warden staff to ensure very high standards are maintained.
Martin and I would like to reassure existing and potential customers that we remain fully committed to providing quality care and facilities at Hidden Valley Park

Visited this site as part of a rally. Some of the pitches were not very long and people ended up somewhat squeezed in. Plentiful water points. Facilities were clean and in good working order.
Possibly wouldn't bother visiting again, not because it was a bad site, it wasn't, but being in a valley with lots of trees, we didn't see a great deal of the sun.
You need to get tokens from the shop to use the laundry facilities.
We didn't try the meals on site, but other members of our party who did were not particularly impressed.
