Lovely campsite, has all the facilities you could want, even has a full bathroom for hire if you want a relaxing bath! Close to tourist areas too! Staff were great, freshly baked bread was available from the shop and so were many other items. Has a cafe and bar, didnt use the bar but the cafe did wanderful cream teas :-)
The pitches are HUGE, could have fitted 3 tents on one pitch quite easily! Electrical and TV hookups were available for an extra charge.
Local town of Braunton has a range of shops and a drive to the beach was about 15mins (traffic permitting). Theres a supermarket in braunton so you dont have to worry about running out of food either! Camping Gaz was available from most garages too which was a relief as we so often run out after a weeks camping!
Overall a fab campsite, well worth a visit ill give it 10/10 :-)

June 2005 We've just stayed at this site for the first time having seen good reviews on here. It was really lovely, with huge pitches, all with electric and TV hook up. The toilet blocks were clean and never crowded and the whole site was spotless. There are some play areas to keep the kids amused and a bar and cafe etc for the adults. We didn't visit the bar though it did seem to get busy, especially with locals. The cafe was nice and there are plenty of nice walks around the site.
The location was more central than we had expected, only about a mile from Mullacott Crossroads, which leads to Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Taunton etc. The main road next to the campsite was fairly noisy but not enough to keep you awake.
The staff were very polite and friendly and they were relaxed about the 10am exit time, which was good for us as we never seem to manage to pack up by the time we're supposed to.
All in all, a very good site and we'll definitely visit again.

May 2005 We were a little dubious when we booked this site as it was the only one out of about 20 we called who had any vacancies and wondered what was wrong with it! We need not have worried as the site is excellent! The pitches all have electric hook-up and are large enough for a large tent, car and plenty of room left for the kids to play, equally good was the shower / toilet block. I really liked the family shower room and the fact that all toilet cubicles had their own sink - great when you want to clean your teeth in private!
Yes, the site is right next to the main road between Ilfracombe and Barnstaple but the noise was barely noticeable even at night and the river running through the park was very soothing and dampened the road noise even further. The owners and staff are really friendly and make you feel at home, very easy to talk to and pleasant - even with noisy kids!!! The site itself is beautiful and very well kept with a lake to relax by, a nature walk and 2 childrens play areas. They also have a cafe and a bar to aid relaxation even further.
Ideal location for exploring North Devon coast and villages - fantastic beaches only a few minutes drive away. While we were there we had the mother of all thunder storms and the sky was incredible - worth the trip just for that!!

August 2004 Location on the main road isnt great but a really well organised operation. Really clean facilities which is so important. We've been here a few times now and standards are aways kept high and for some reason eveyone who stays here seem really laid back and cool - never come across any neighbours from hell. The disco and quiz nights at the bar are really good and I'd also say the on site restaraunt is ok if a tad pricey. Well worth a go.

May 2004 Lovely Site, bit of road noise but not a problem to us. Well maintained, clean facilities. Lots of woods and stuff for the kids to play in. Would reccomend.

February 2004 Yes, It was cold... I have meant to stay at this site and everytime I have ended up somewhere else. The standards are up to C&CC, and, I should imagine the CC. You can't ask for better than that. The season had not yet started but I wanted to test the new insulation on my home-build Motorhome; that performed very well. There is only one thing that could spoil your visit. The site is very near to the main Barnstaple to Ilfracombe road. I can imagine that this would be very noisy in the summer. Having said that: How many sites do you know where you can get a Robin to take food out of your hand? I can't find a higher reccommendation than that.

June 2003 This is a lovely campsite with immaculate facilities and friendly staff. The trees and pitches are good - nice walk in the woods behind the park. Good food in the restaurant with nice views over their small lake. I agree with a few other comments that the road is a little on the noisey side but I must say it was only the intense heat we had whilst there that kept me awake! Will visit again!

August 2002 My husband, myself and our young daughter spent a lovely week at Hidden Valley. The campsite seemed pretty much full while we were there but there was always showers available and we were able to do laundry when we wanted. The site is very pretty with a lovely lake and a couple of play areas which our daughter enjoyed. This is a really nice part of Devon and there are lots of attractions for children nearby if the weather isn't great. Our only disappointment was the traffic noise that could be heard from the nearby main road but we got used to it after a couple of days. I would definately recommend Hidden Valley as we drove around and took a look at several campsites in the area and didn't see any that we thought offered better facilities.

April 2003 I would agree with the above comments but would like to add that the site is literally alongside the A361 which is a main route through to Ilfracombe and consequently quite busy. Although as the name of the site suggests it is in a valley hidden from the road, we found the site quite noisy due to passing traffic.(The traffic does subside considerably at night). The site itself however was quiet and there is a rule that there should be no noise after 10.30pm and before 7pm which everyone seemed to keep to whilst we were there.

This site, just North of Braunton, is set amongst woodland and has excellent facilities with a restaurant/take away on site, woodland walks (ideal for dog owners), good childrens play area etc. Excellent value, very friendly and helpful owners also reduced fees in late season.
