Well run site with friendly and helpful wardens.
Toilet block facilities nearest our tent, at the bottom of the site, clean and well maintained and had BBC Radio Devon playing in the background.
Bus services from site entrance to Barnstaple and Ilfracombe run regularly through the day and until late in the evening. This enables access to the main North Devon attractions, and some pleasant walks in the area, without the need to use a car.

The site is well located off a major road (road noise can be an issue at night), and has two toilet blocks, although these can be tested in high season when the number of toilets and showers may be inadequate. Facilities are kept clean.
Two excellent children's adventure play areas are provided.
The owners and wardens are very helpful and guide you onto your pitch upon arrival.
The site is in a wooded valley and is well kept with many fowers and baskets in abundance.
Behaviour on site was very orderly, and one way systems were followed by all visitors.
The reception shop is well stocked.
There are great beaches nearby at Saunton Sands and Croyde Bay.

Fantastic Site, probably the best we've ever stayed at. Well situated with Ifracoombe & Woolacoombe jut 5 miles to the North and Braunton/Saunton & Croyde about the same distance to the south.
Wonderful surroundings in a forest setting with a flowing stream running through the middle of the site. The pitches in the top end of the park are mostly in a series of terraces, so that you are not overlooked by others.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming with on site wardens who escort you to your pitch on arrival and will even help you to unhitch and get safely onto your pitch.
The toilet/shower blocks are clean modern and well presented. There are also laundry rooms, a family bathroom with full sized bath, disabled facilities and a wetsuit wash area.
There are two adventure play grounds for children with woodland trails through the park and a small picturesque lake area as well. The stream is quite fast flowing though, especially following heavy rain and as some of the pitches in the top end of the park have a sheer drop down to the stream, it makes them a little unsuitable for those with small children. The lower end of the park is much flatter though, with the stream off to one side making it much more suitable for young children.

Currently on site as I write the review, passing the time as its raining. This is our 4th visit to Hidden Valley and although not the cheapest it is very well maintained and you can see where your extra pounds are invested. All facilities are very clean, plenty of staff and the premier pitches are very large and well kept.
We will be back again. Great to see that now have wifi throughout the camping site and £12 for a weeks worth of use is not too bad, the signal is great.

Welcoming reception staff and wardens could not have been any better. Lovely walks in the woods. Facilities clean and user friendly warm underfloor heating and constant hot water. Would recommend the breakfast at the cafe.
We had a premier pitch very large and spacious lovely setting with the stream running below our unit. Bus stop outside the site to so many destinations so no need to use your car. Will be back there in August just hope the weather is a bit dryer.

Stayed at this site with my wife and dog and found it to be a superb site and excellent value for money.
The site staff are very welcoming and helpful and the toilet/shower blocks are absolutely spot on, clean and warm and almost as good as at home.
The site is very attractive and has good woodland trails for walking the dog and lovely gardens and tea rooms for those occasions when you just want to watch the world go by.
Would heartily recommend it to anyone and will definitely revisit it in the future.
Thanks for a lovely week.

Just returned from a 10 day stay at Hidden Valley.
As a best of British site I did expect better quality pitches and site roads as these were not level and full of potholes. The general opinion of our party agreed that this did spoil the site.
Toilet block was adequate but felt if the site had been full then don't think 3 showers, 3 toilets, 3 washbasins is enough.
The super pitches looked good, but quite a walk away from the toilet block, which involves climbing about 15 steps to reach this block, someting to bear in mind if you are not fit.
I feel that I must mention the wardens (gentleman with beard and his wife) who could not be more helpful or amiable if they tried, in fact I would say the best couple I have experienced at any site in all of my caravanning years.
Sorry would not return based purely on the pitches or the roads around the site.

We arrived late on a Sunday night and had to phone for the ranger to come and let us in and show us to our pitch. Pitch was quite near to the road and we did notice a lot of road noise but that could be because we live in the country with very little traffic.
We had a hard standing pitch which was not very level and we noticed this about a lot of the standard pitches so levellers are a must, we were also asked not to use the grass patch in between pitches which seemed a bit strange as they would have been nice to sit out on seeing as we did have 2 sunny days!
Having walked around the site later we wish we had booked a grass pitch down in the meadow, so peaceful down there it was lovely, hidden away amongst a forest clearing and no road noise.
Toilet/shower blocks are adequate but only 3 showers for 60 pitches and could imagine it would be very busy in high season and possible shortage of showers. Underfloor heating was nice and plenty of hot water but the toilet facilities could do with updating, when you look up at the vent above showers in the ladies it is covered in green mould so not particularly nice. Cleaned late in the morning when we were there & would imagine by that time they would be very dirty when site is busy so would be nicer if they were cleaned before most campers up.
Plenty of lovely walks for the dog, she loved it. Did not see a warden or the site owners at all so cannot comment on them at all, though it would have been nice if someone would have come along and asked if everything alright the following day.
Information on facilities etc had to be asked for not given freely. We would visit again as it was a nice site but beware that the drive in to pitches is full of potholes and could seriously do with some remedial work. Next time we visit we will be asking for a grass pitch away form the road noise near to the standard pitches.

We visited without the kids for a weekend and used this site simply as a place to park up and sleep. It is a useful location to reach many attractions.
Pitch sizes were adequate for that. We arranged to arrive late and the warden met us and showed us to our pitch.
The toilet blocks were well looked after, even had underfloor heating. Its nice to walk into a cubicle with a dry floor!
Other than that we were out all day. We agreed that the kids would've struggled to find things to do on site, its not geared up for that sort of holiday but more than adequate for a base to do other things - especially setting off for a days surfing for example.
If we had our large awning for a full family outing then the pitch may have been a bit tight, there are bigger pitches to upgrade to though.

We booked this over the phone and they dealt with booking very quickly and on arrival they had all our information to hand. We were shown to our pitch and that was as expected, it was hard standing. We were instructed that they would like us not to pitch on the grass and this wasn't a problem as the pitch was big enough anyway.
The site was well maintained and the facilities clean with plenty of hot water in the showers. The site staff/owners are very friendly and with a pleasant pub just up the road it was a nice place to stay. We only did two nights but would definitely return and the good rates they offer for low season are a bonus.
The only negative is that the pitches are very close and in high season I think it could be a little crowded.
