Generally you would have to say that the facilities were good at this site and certainly the toilets and showers I saw were very clean which really is the essential thing when one is camping. It is also generally reassuring to have a security presence on sight although quite how they managed to miss the gorup of middle-aged carravaners sipping cider and taking it in turns to streak around the campsite I will never know. Also it does seem very odd that the pool closes at 18.00 as this seems a bit early. For the price you pay you would expect the showers to be free, though as mentioned, they are clean. I notice some people have complained about the slope. We were on a slope and were pretty grateful for it when it chucked it with rain as the water drained away to the flat pitches below us. Would probably go again The local 13th century inn, a 20 minute stroll down the road was really good value and the food was great too so that is definitely worth a trip.

Firstly like most of this summer `07 the weather was awful. This had a negative effect on our holiday. We stopped on a super pitch which had mains water, electric, drain for grey water and a tv point (cable free from reception for a £10 deposit ). Our pitch sloped badly,as did the majority of the pitches and because we were on grass ( no hard standing at all ) the rain ran like a river through the awning,we can still smell the mud. The site was good though, very clean and staff very friendly. The pitches although quite large were squashed together,I would not like to go in high season when it is full, getting your van on and off must be difficult. The shower cubicles had no shower curtain, wet my clothes more than once and at 20p a go thought it a bit poor. The mirrors over the sinks next to useless unless you are under 4ft 6". Playground was good and large.Pool clean but cool, one of the boilers broke down whilst we were there. The beach was 20 - 25mins walk away over large sand dunes and 5mins drive but you had to pay to park up. Clubhouse was ok but small, food ok reasonable prices. On site shop ok sold out of tie down straps too quickly! There is a small fun park at the rear of the site, kids loved it but it shut at 4pm. Overall a good site, the weather let us down, gale force winds and torrential rain.

I agree with most of the reviews regarding Trevornick, but, I would say how very small the pitches are, even the so called larger ones. We took our dog and I do understand you need to be in a separate field to non-dog owners, but these pitches seem to be smaller than the non-dog ones.
The previous time we went, the caravan next door couldn't get out of their pitch and we had to move our windbreaks to allow him to get out,. The space also to get your caravan actually out of the park is a bit difficult, at one time I saw 2 vans coming in the opposite direction with escorts on walkie talkies! Bit of a squeeze getting past each other, not for the inexperienced driver. We are not in a hurry to go back, except my son really likes it, which is why we went for a 2nd visit, good for kids!

We visited this site the week following whitsun to ensure it was quieter after the kids had left and having never really been to a professional site before with 800+ pitches and entertainment etc. We were gobsmacked how much we appreciated the heated, immaculate toilet blocks (of which there are 4 at least that we visited) with many many cubicals, music piped in to dance to in the shower, nice soft loo roll and never a queue. The shop was excellent, more like a spar that a small site shop selling all camping gear and plenty of stuff to keep kids occupied like colouring books. We had dogs with us to stayed on the red field on pitch 396 with electric hook up. It was spacious enough for our large tent, a gazebo, car and sunbathing spot. The bar with entertainment looked great and it was certainly busy but with our furry friends we were unable to go in so I cant verify the feedback from other campers. The takeaway is great though, about a fiver for Chicken Tikka Masalla and chips and it was proper curry not the microwave packet stuff and the portions were huge. There is a golf club right next to the site which has a clubhouse that allows dogs in and the dog walking area is huge, you can let your mutts of the lead and they can run as far as the eye can see. There is a hire shop which is reasonably priced for everything you can possibly imagine, fridges, tv's and microwaves just to name a few. The pitches on our field were all of good size and absolutely level. The site is about a ten minute drive outside of Newquay but being in Holywell Bay is absolutely worth it. There is a path way directly from the site down to the beach, stunning, beautiful, all the cliche words to describe the bay could be listed. There is a pub on the edge of the beach, nice food, pricey but allowed well behaved dogs so we tried it out and would definitely go back again. Bus service to Newquay and Truro from outside the site and very helpful reception with thousands of leaflets and assistance if required (we enquired about trains to Looe and they searched the internet for us and got us the times etc for the bus to line with the train). I would recommend this site, I can imagine it would get a bit mad in school holidays but there is a pool, play park and numerous kiddie activities so I am sure everyone can get some peace at some point. Prices are OK, about what you would expect from a site with all these luxury facilities.

We had the bank holiday week there - 26 May to 2 June. We were on the pond field - pitch 32. We arrived at 10am and were allowed straight onto the pitch after first being asked to go to the waiting field whilst we booked in. I particularly like the fact that we were shown to the pitch by a lad on a scooter - an excellent idea when you are faced with a large, unfamiliar site. The pitches on the pond field all looked pretty flat, and were set out in tiers. The ground drained well, and the only a few problems getting pegs into the ground which was nice grass but with plenty of stones under the surface. We used a breathable GS (mandatory, but nobody checked)which was fine apart from on the Thursday - we'd just had so much rain by then that it was coming through in places so we just put down our PVC GS instead and all was well. On the pond field I think the mix of tents to vans was about 10:90% so we were definitely in the minority. Some of the tent pitches over in the main camping area didn't look too flat. Had some noise problems in the late evening from the usual teenager crowd, but nothing worse than we have experienced elsewhere. The staff were very friendly. They have a new "restaurant" that opened this year. We ate there once - OK but nothing special. £34 for 4 drinks and 4 main meals. Service was pretty prompt, but it wasn't busy. The take away was open long hours, as was the shop which was excellent. The pool was warm enough - even on cold days. Changing room was OK but a little dark. EHU was rated at 16A and the TV outlet had freeview channels on it. Washing up facilities were good - hot water was fine but they close these facilities at 9pm which is I think a little too early. Toilet bocks were clean, but I had problems using the 20p showers in two of the cubicles. They have a hire shop with most things available, but some of the children's bikes I saw being ridden around the site the brakes weren't working.pretty dangerous in my opinion. Overall - we were pleased with our first visit to Tevornick. The only downside was that it was quite a long walk to the local beach, esp on the way back.

Superb site with excellent facilities but not completely free of fault.
1) the site is quite hilly with some substantial slopes. Not good if your under canvas! Maybe the booking staff could help put tents on the flatter parts where possible.
2) I got the distinct impression that it was a huge money making venture. No refund of any kind if you chage the original booking details within six weeks of your visit. I booked two pets to go (approx £55) and the day before one fell ill. Couldn`t take the pets and the park was absolutely adamant that we could get no refund-I mean, I ask you, what facilities does a dog use! I also didn`t expect to have to pay 20p for a few minutes in the showers and the other thing that riled me was the fact that I felt that all the campers there were squashed in like sardines.
However, knowledge is power and when we book to go there again, I`ll ask for a flatter berth and keep the booking to an absolute minimum and `add on` when we book in!

Just got back from Trevornick, Newquay the camp site is brilliant for families. My son who is eight, (who may I add gets easily bored), loved every minute of the holiday from the swimming pool ,Kanga club, amusement arcade , the playground or just hanging out on his scooter round the site. The facilities are excellent, the staff are so friendly nothing is too much trouble.
We travelled in to Newquay and visited the main beach, but I have to say we did prefer, Holywell Bay beach as it was much more secluded. The only down side is the journey to the beach it took us 20 minutes to get their on foot , but hey we need the exercise.
The site shop is fairly reasonable, we have to recommend the fresh chocolate croissants, they are divine.
We are already looking to book for August next year, and my son cannot wait.

For a first time camper we couldn't have picked a better place to come although very far from home. The pitces are great and the whole campsite is spotlessly clean. There is so much to do we couoldn't fit it all in. The kids who are 6 and 3 loved the kanga club every morning and of course we had to go to the disco each evening til 9 which was just about right for them, and I can't praise the staff highly enough. Trevornick is also very close to Newquey and a trip to perenporth is highly reccommended. We can't wait to go back again next year

We were pleasantly surprised by Trevornick from the moment we arrived. We are used to camping at sites with few amenities (Such as Fisher Ground in the Lakes) We have not been to a 'Holiday Camp' site before. I must admit, that we were a little wary at first. (Amusement parks etc not being our thing!) On arrival we were met at the gate and directed to reception, which was about 20 feet away! We were booked in very quickly and efficiently, and led to our pitch by a very pleasant young man on a scooter. Our pitch (327 Super Pitch) was ready for our arrival. The pitch was flat and tidy. However, we thought that for a super pitch it was a little small. We were using a Sunncamp Oasis 600 main tent with a Pup Tent and Gazebo. However they all fitted onto the pitch with a little planning. We had an electric and water hookup on the pitch. Shower and toilet block was a short walk down the hill. The block was clean and tidy most of the time. Showers were 20p a time! (Thought this was unnecessary expense bearing in mind the cost of the pitch itself) The shop was fantastic! Well stocked and very reasonable priced. Selling provisions, news papers and gifts etc, there was not really any need to drive to Morrisons (15 minutes away by car!) The hire shop was good too. We were travelling light, so it was great to be able to hire a toaster and fridge for our tent! They have most things for hire, should you need them.including TV (once again, not our thing.but each to their own) The Cafe was very good. Nice selection and reasonable price. Used the club house once. Great for kids (Kanga club looked great for the youngsters) If you are into the Holiday Park scene, then this would probably be ideal. Two bars on 2 floors. Well equipped and clean and tidy. It just had that 'Bingo' feel to it. Great for some, but once again, not our scene (Sorry if we sound snotty, it is just that we dont do clubs at home.and especially not on holiday) The amusements were not visited, however we did go to the amusement park, next door. Great fun! Recommended. We also took advantage of the Pitch and Put. Very Good! Almost like a full course. Cheap too! The swimming pool looked fantastic. Although we spent most of our time at the beach. The tennis court that you can see in some of the brochures is private. You can walk to the beach from the site.but if you are planning on going for the day, we would suggest that you take your car and park at the pub carpark (only £2.50 per day, with a 50p refund if you go into the pub afterwards) There is also a National Trust car park about 50 yards further along the road. (£3.50 per day) Beaches were fantastic. Life guards on duty, Snack bar and Surf Hire. Some great pubs in the local area. I would like to make a special mention about the staff at Trevornick. They were all well trained, efficient and very polite. They made the biggest difference from other sites. Well done! To sum up, we would recommend Trevornick. A good site with great staff.

Lovely well run site with friendly staff who can't do enough for you from the receptionist to the bar staff, cleaners etc, very nice people. The site it self is very large & takes some getting around, it has three large toilet blocks with laundry room & plenty of very clean toilets & showers. Make sure you have plenty of change as the showers take 20p which I thought was a bit inconvenient for a five star site where everything else was free to use, (why not put 20p per person on the pitch fee if they must charge?)
The entertainment was top notch with karaoke, show bands singers etc every night, & early evening entertainment & club for the little ones. There is a well stocked on site shop & cafe/take away doing reasonable meals. There is also a good bus service from right outside the site running to Newquay & truro also from the beach at Hollywell bay if you dont fancy climbing over the sand dunes or walking up the road.
Adjoining the site there is a golf coarse open to non members, fishing & a fun park (which closes at around five so no problem with noise)
We would recommend this site to anyone & are hoping to visit again sometime
