Very good site. Stunning views and all were so friendly. Would definitely book here again

Ideal for all ages. We are in our 50s (pushing 60 )but would recommend it to our children and their families.

We had our dog with us and there are a lot of places to walk them. Beach is dog friendly too.

The shop was the best I've seen with all the essentials and much more. We had a gorgeous meal at one of the eating venues.

Very clean and very well kept site

We stayed in the field with the 3 lakes and had a great time, if we were more local we are sure it would be a site that we use all the time.

The pitches are huge which is brilliant as you don't feel cramp and have some privacy.

The beach is a 10mins walk, but it isnt flat, so you need to be quite fit.

2 golf courses, 1 x pitch and putt, 1 x par 3, 3 x fishing lakes, equipment can be hired for all the above.

There is a hire service there and basically you can hire everything, from a 240v fridge to wetsuits, so if space is a problem in your car, this is worth looking at.

The heated pool stayed open for an extra week which was good. Only small but child friendly and long enough to swim a few lengths.

Woodys bar was open every night so if you fancy a hot meal and a pint well worth a visit. Free wifi there as well.

There are a couple of other bars and places to eat but they were closed. Shame really as the booklet doesn't say that but the website does, so maybe they need to clarify what they actually offer. So I have marked that down a bit.

Showers ok, push button and set at the same temperature, I would guess as the year goes on these wont be warm enough. Never busy but the site was quiet.

60mins from Lands End and 20mins to Newquay. Morrisons about 10mins away for a bigger shop.

Phone signal, 3G, signal very very poor.

All in all a good site

Just back from a fab week at this fantastic site, highly recommend, staff all helpful, pitches and amenities spotless. Plenty to keep a 7 yr old occupied and so dog friendly. Bars and restaurants providing good food and drink lovely views from woodys bar. All very well organised on arrival, added touch of a DVD channel was superb really well thought out campsite. Will definitely be returning well done to the family who run this site.

Just returned after a 10 night stay at Trevornick

We travelled down on the Friday as we live in Yorkshire, I checked our booking with the site before we left, making sure that we were ok to use the early arrivals field, we were told the field was available from 9pm that night.

After along journey we arrived at 10pm we were meet by a security guard who took our name he informed us that our pitch was empty and would be available from 9am, he showed us where to park up, explained that 9am a gazebo would go up where we could check in. We were free to use all the facility's on the park that night.

On that Saturday morning a gazebo had arrived with 3 ladies checking in a full field of campers ready to start their holiday, we went back to our car and followed a coned off path, were a gentleman directed us back to the site entrance, at the entrance we were waved in and pointed to a parking bay and asked to wait, too our amazement a lad on a scooter pulled up asked our pitch number and asked us to follow him. We were taken straight to our pitch, easiest checking I have ever experienced.

After that it was set up time before exploring our home for the next 10 days. Toilet blocks were spot less, showers hot and power full, plenty of sinks for pot washing, we paid £5 plus £5 deposit for a family bathroom key so much easier with our 5 year old great added bonus. Heated out door pool, jacuzzi and toddler pool, spa treatments are available as a extra treat. Farm shop with is well stocked, hungry horse which is a take away, the stables which is a licensed restaurant/ cafe( fabulous cream teas ), amusements and club house and a up stairs sports bar. These are all in a court yard once again spotless.

Situated Right next to Holywell bay fun park and a 10 minute walk to Holywell bay beach, we drove to the beach as we had all the kids body boards and wet suits, picnici, towel etc and parked 2 minutes walk from the beach it was £5 to park all day but well worth it free if your a member to national trust.

Perranporth is only 5 miles away, Newquay is 3 miles away a bus service is available from the park entrance. Cubert is a little village you go through to get to the site it has a fish and chip shop that opens 5-8 on a night, expensive and not that nice,

I would use this site again really enjoyed a relaxing stay, only down side for me was you have to pay for your car been there and to take a dog is £5:90 per night, we left our dog with my mum as I thought this was very expensive, dogs are welcome any where on site including the pub, Holywell bay, perranporth, fistral and Newquay beach are all dog friendly so if you do take your dog there is no restrictions.

All staff wear pink shirts, all very friendly and happy to help.

WOW! Fantastic site, generous size marked pitches which were very flat! approximately 3 miles away from Newquay. Has everything you need on site so you don't really have to venture out. Golf and fishing passes bought prior to our stay and have to say the lads loved it using both every single day, sometimes twice a day. Fishing ponds stocked very well. Bars, restaurants, cafe, shop all really good. Toilets and showers spotlessly cleaned a few times a day. Slight downside, we stayed during a very HOT July and could not avoid the sunburn, showers a little too hot during this time but sure would be glad of them if the weather was not so kind. Bus stop just outside site entrance but we ordered a taxi to take 5 adults into Newquay for a night out which only cost £15. If you do go to Newquay be sure to visit Cribber bar and check out the toilets! Well worth the 6 hr drive and will definitely visit again next year.

We visited this site Easter 2013. When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff, who showed us to our pitches, the wind was relentless and it was bitterly cold. But we managed to get set up.

The kids loved the entertainment, and Woodys bar was a welcoming site for us as we need to get out of the cold, the food and staff were excellent,

We have visited lots of sites in cornwall and found this one to be very good. The Food and Friendliness of the staff were second to none. However, the shower block ( ladies) was not very warm, and I struggled to get a shower which was HOT (WHICH YOU NEED WHEN ITS COLD OUTSIDE). My son loved the lake for fishing. And me and my brother in law made the very BOLD decision to trek to the beach across the golf course. This was a lovely walk. But very long and hard to walk to in the wind. Not recommended with small children.

All in all I would recommend this site, but make sure you walk the short way to the beach and not the long way.

This is the 3rd time we have visited Trevornick and we love it here. It is expensive in comparison to other sites but when you consider the facilities available here it's easy to understand why you pay that little bit more.

We always travel through the night to avoid the huge amount of traffic you can encounter on the A30 but Trevornick offers an overflow field where you can park up whilst you are waiting for reception/check in to open.

Check in is easy and pain free in our experience and once you have registered your arrival a chap on a moped escorts you to your pitch. A nice touch we think.

Location:

Trevornick is located next to a small village called Cubert between Newquay (about 2 miles away) and Perranporth (about 5 miles away). The setting of this site is absolutely picture perfect with views of the beautiful Holywell Bay and it's golden sands.

Beach - Holywell bay beach is about a 10 minute walk away from the site via the road and about 30 minute walk via the golf course/sand dune route. It's a bit of a trek through the sand dunes, especially if you are carrying all your beach stuff but it's well worth the effort once you get there. The scenery is lovely and the beach is beautifully clean.

There's a little van that sells sandwiches and drinks but it is pricey. We paid almost £15 for two sandwiches and three bottles of coke, I nearly fell over so I would advise anyone to take a picnic with them. You can also hire body-boards etc from another van but we have our own so couldn't say what the prices were like.

It would be handy to have a loo somewhere on the beach as the nearest one is a smelly public toilet block about a 10 minute walk away which isn't ideal if you have kids.

Trevornick's Facilities:

Fun Park - Next to the site is Holywell Fun Park which is ideal for something to do if you like Crazy Golf, Go-Karts etc but it is really geared towards smaller children and there's not much apart from the Crazy Golf and Go-Karts for the older teenage child.

You have to purchase credits to go on the rides etc which are loaded onto a card and although you can buy packages, for example buy £30 worth and get £10 free, we do think the rides are a little on the expensive side. We worked out that it cost about £15 for the three of us to play Crazy Golf and although it's one of the best courses we've been on it's still a bit expensive.

Woody's - Woody's is the 19th hole pub which overlooks the beautiful bay, the pitch n putt and the golf course, views are nothing short of breathtaking. Sunset views in the evening are absolutely lovely whilst you are enjoying a drink. Woody's also serves some lovely food, a bit pricey but you get a huge portion.

Swimming Pool - Trevornick has a fabulous outdoor heated swimming pool that is free to use. As would be expected on a site this size it gets absolutely rammed when the sun is shining so you need to get there early to secure a decent spot. Whilst we have stayed here there have always been two life-guards on duty and when the kids club is operating in the morning they do restrict the number of people entering the pool area for safety reasons. The only gripe I have about the pool is that there aren't nearly enough sun loungers or chairs and it's a bit annoying when folks save sunbeds for their kids (via the towel method) who spend all day in the pool, don't have any intention of sunbathing and only go near the thing to collect their towel when they are leaving for the day.

This is perhaps something Trevornick should look into, either get more sunloungers or stop people reserving 6 loungers when they only use 2 of them. There is a spa offering massages and eyebrow shaping etc and a tanning booth located within the swimming pool area. I've never personally used this so can't comment on the prices but it does seem like a nice touch of luxury if you fancy pampering yourself.

Bars - Besides Woody's there are two other bars on site. There is the Sports Bar located upstairs in the main complex and the Stables Bar downstairs. The Sports Bar as the name suggest is themed on sport and as the Olympics was on during our stay it was showing all the sporting events on the TV's dotted around the room. There is a pool table, table football and dart board for use on a pay as you play basis.

The main bar downstairs does the usual campsite type kids entertainment until 8pm then there's bingo from 9ish and entertainment after that. We did spend most evenings here but you do need to get here early to secure a table as there aren't nearly enough during peak season which meant quite a lot of folk standing up, blocking the exit doors and access to the bar. The evening entertainment was OK and watchable.

Cafe - There is a take-away/cafe located in the main complex which is all around the edge of a courtyard. They do the usual pizza, chips etc and are open until 11pm. The food was ok but a little pricey, £2. 50 for a tray of cheesy chips is a little excessive in our opinion.

Restaurant - Right next to the cafe is the Stables Restaurant, in fact the food comes from the same kitchen. We didn't use it this year but from looking at the menu you are looking at about £8 to £10 for a pub style meal.

Indoor Play Area - Next to the restaurant is an indoor area with a snooker table, two pool tables and two table tennis tables. You can hire the equipment on a half hourly basis for £1.

Shop - For a campsite shop the shop at Trevornick is quite well stocked and not overpriced like some places we've visited. They sell all the usual supplies along with newspapers, magazines, freshly cooked baguettes, toiletries etc.

Arcade - There is also a small arcade in this area with the usual arcade games and a mini ten pin bowling alley but it gets packed out at night with teenagers being obnoxious whilst their parents are in the pub. There wasn't any trouble as such but some pretty colourful language on offer which isn't particularly plesant especially when there are young children playing in there.

Hire Shop - The hire shop is a great idea and you can hire absolutely anything from an iron to a wetsuit. We didn't use it this year but in the past we have hired a fridge for about £20 for the week.

Playground - There is a playground that has been renovated for this year. Usual playground stuff but our child didn't use it (too old )so can't really comment further.

Toilets/Shower Blocks - We used these facilities at various times of the day and always found them to be clean with plenty of loo roll and plenty of hot water. The showers could do with a couple more hooks for hanging your clothes/towels on as there are only two per cubicle but apart from that no complaints. These do get very busy first thing in the morning (for obvious reasons) and in the evening but we personally never had to queue. The piped music was a nice touch too but this gets turned off at about 8pm to avoid any noise nuisance to nearby campers.

Elsan Point - There are elsan points at various locations on the site but we did find that ours was quite a distance from our pitch. We were pitched down by the fishing lakes and considering that most folk that were on these pitches were in caravans (with loos that need to be emptied) it would be handy to have an elsan point a little nearer than up a hill, over two speed humps, up a ramp and round the corner at the back of the main shower block. It's not a big problem but as any 'vanner' will tell you, emptying the loo is unpleasant at the best of times without having an uphill trek to do it.

Fishing & Bait Shack - We chose our pitch because of it's location (pitch number 2) which is smack bang next to the fishing lakes. There are three lakes in all that sock a variety of fish including Bream, Carp, Roach and even Eels. Day tickets cost £3 and there's also a well stocked bait shack. You can pay for a weekly fishing pass in advance which we did and it works out a bit cheaper than paying each day. We paid for a weeks pass in advance but found that for two of the days my husband could only use one of the lakes (the not so good one) as the others were reserved for fishing matches. This was a little annoying as we were residents at the site, had paid extra for our pitch and had paid in advance for a weeks fishing pass. Perhaps if this is common practice folks should be informed in advance to avoid disappointment.

There are other facilities such as a laundrette/ironing room (useful if you run out of clothes) and family bathrooms which you can hire a key for, handy if you don't fancy using the communal facilities. There is a large football field at the end of the Red Field where folks were also flying kites.

Nearby pubs - We visited the Smugglers Den Inn which had a lovely beer garden and a beautiful view of the countryside and valley. We were going to eat here but one look at the prices on the menu put us off. We also visited the Trebellen which has a lovely olde worldy feel to it with it's thatched roof and proper old style pub interior. Average prices for beer at both.

The staff at Trevornick are polite, friendly and helpful and there's security at night should anyone have any problems.

All in all Trevornick is a lovely site, with plenty to do and there's loads of places to visit within an hours drive if you fancy venturing off site for the day. We will definitely return to this lovely site again.

Just returned from a week at Trevornick Park although we left a day early due to 40mph gusts and thick cloud/rain over cornwall!

We are a family with 3 boys and it was our first weeks camping! It didn't disappoint, the site was fabulous, clean, excellently maintained, friendly staff and great campers!

We stayed on the Blue field, huge pitch, direct to the lovely heated pool and jacuzzi ( my boys loved it with all the fellow lady campers even though they are 7 & 9 yrs old!)

The beach is stunning, access via road or across the golf course and over the sand dunes.

Woody's bar was our favourite, great food, quiz night, live entertainment and superb half of lager!

We played a 18 hole round of pitch and putt with beautiful views to Holywell bay, and the Go karts on site were well received by my eldest son.

The hire shop has everything you can imagine with reasonable prices although I thought the bike hire was excessive, especially if you have 3 children( ours would have cost over £90 per wk!)

We are definitely coming back next year but for 2 weeks so that we get a proper time to enjoy everything this site and the fabulous area has to offer

We booked for 14 nights here at Trevornick, but left 2 days early due to strong winds and driving rain at the end of our holiday. Most popular field for tents with hook up was Blue field which unfortunately was undulating across every angle, even individual pitches were domed or valleyed making it almost impossible to get a 7m x 3m tent level.

Toilets were kept clean at all times, they were cleaned regularly. The showers had hot water constantly, but lacking a shelf to put your clothes, shampoo and toiletries on, only a hook provided. The toilets and showers had great background piped music all night long.

The Hungry Horse take away had a huge range of snacks to go. The hire shop had amazing offers on body and surf boards and wet suits. There was a large recycling centre which we always support if available.

Quiet time was observed and we didn't really notice any noise at all. Shop was well stocked and very accommodating staff who put a pack of steaks away for us at their next delivery as we missed an earlier delivery.

All staff were really polite and genuine, no stupid have a nice day Americanisms or insincere greetings etc.

Entertainment not experienced by us but was available every evening including kids entertainment. Heated swimming pool was heated and not just luke warm.

Woody's Bar great staff, lovely food with the best views across Holywell Bay and Golf course out across the Atlantic. The Stables - cracking breakfast and lots of choice, very reasonable priced. The reception was large, lots of local info and very helpful.

We did have a drink at the beautiful 13th century Treguth Inn about 2 miles away, but the menu was uninspiring.

If you want the best Cornish Pasty ever you must visit Chapman and Sons in Perranporth (4 miles away).

The nearest beach is 2 miles away by road, or a 25 min walk from the site over sand dunes. But its for surfers and not really a bucket and spade beach. The sand is coarse.

Well worth the cost for a 5***** site, but a pity about the uneven pitches and field.

Just got back from Trevornick where we had a fantastic time,

The facilities were faultless, very clean and well kept,

The only minor complaint is that our pitch was quite small and next to the road outside but we booked it very late (the previous day), all the other pitches looked better, this was a minor thing and I would happy to book here again.

The staff were very friendly and the entertainment was good.
