August 2005 Having read a lot of the reviews I decided that it would be a safe bet to choose this site. Whilst the site itself was clean and tidy there were a few problems to watch out for. I booked a Premium Pitch on the front row by the fishing ponds and despite warning them that I had a large van (7.5m) they tried to put me on a pitch (number 1 as a warning to you all.....) that was tiny, impossible to get a heavy twin axle van on to unless you have a motor mover and are also willing to reverse for over 200m. The facilities in the bar and restaurant etc were very good but in peak season you would struggle to get a seat after about 6:30. Showers have no dry place to store your towels etc while showering and you cannot adjust the temperature on them at all - they were set far to hot for my 3 year old. All pitches are grass and by the end of the summer season they are VERY tired - my pitch was a patch of mud.

September 2005 Just returned from Trevornick after spending a few days there, with my friend in her parents caravan. I found the park to be very good, the staff was friendly and there is not much that can be bad said about the park. The toilets and showers was very clean and smelt fresh everytime i visited them. Even though we were there during the end of season week, the entertainment was still very good, and having less people in the club house made it more comfortable and enjoyable (friday evening, last night was heaving though until the singer came on, then it emptied very fast!!). The reception staff was very friendly and helpful, the pressence of security was very good and they can be very strict. The amusement facilities are very good and a good size swimming pool (shame it rained most of the time i was there). The walk to the beach can be a hike, but it is only a few minutes drive away down into the village. There are also some very good pubs nearby, overall i thoroughly enjoyed my time at Trevornick.

August 2005 I would give this site 10/10. The facilities were top quality and it is a campsite for real campers. There is a hire shop where you can hire just about anything from a toaster to a tent. The cafe and take away is very reasonably priced and the food was good. The on site shop was a little pricey and I would recommend using the nearby Morrisons/Safeway in Newquay. The pitches were large and the toilets and showers were clean and there is a family bathroom for those with young children. The nearby beach is a trek and would recommend parking nearby if you have young children. There is a fun park nearby which was a good day out and within easy walking distance of the site. The best day out for families I would recommend is Springfields Fun Park and Pony Centre. It is reasonably priced and there is something to do rain or shine. I will be returning for a second visit to this site as it was the best I have stayed at by far.

August 2005 Very clean site in an excellent position, we were camped right next to the fun park with go karts etc but this was not a problem. Very large pitches with good views. Nice swimming pool area which was free, good golf course. Only gripe was paying 20p for a shower every day after paying nearly £30.00 per night for a pitch, apart from that all was good.

August 2005 Just got back from a fab week at Trevornick. Very modern well organised sight, lots of very freindly staff very well maintained. We had are tent pitched in Hayfields nearly at the top of the hill but not quite. Toilets, shower blocks all not too far for that early morning dash. Excellent facilities lovely clean heated outdoor pool. Entertainement each night in the main club house and good fishing according to my husband and brother both caught whoppers (no photographic proof again!) Very considerate campers no noise after 11pm which is to be commended. Bingo is good at the club house one off game and was normally for a good sum of cash each night. Kids club looked good but we were too busy to send ours. There are beauty treatments if you you wanted them. Shower blocks are plentiful and clean cost 20p to shower and last long enough for you and one of the kids. About a mile walk to the beach but some walk as it is over sand dunes. You can drive and park there for about £3 for the day( much better idea)Take advantage of the sites facilities they serve excellent food at the Gull Rock Bar on the site good choice and very reasonable. A great base for exploring Newquey and Cornwall. The beaches and the surf are superb we especially enjoyed the body boarding which was a first and enjoyed by all. Porth beach is good just north of Newquey as you can drive your car onto the beach and park for £4 all day the adjacent car park is £6 and a walk with all those beach towels, wind breaks etc. There are toilets and cafe practically on the beach. Check the tide times as when you pitch up early the walk to the sea can be immense. We have already booked for next year as they have an offer at this years rates. Only problem was that all the good pitches have all been booked up for next year so back to Hayfields again can't wait!

August 2005 Upon arriving you will be escorted by someone on a moped to your pitch which is a great idea. Stayed at the top of blue field which was reasonably flat unlike many other pitches we could see. The pitch itself was a decent size but only just got our aspen 700 and the car on it. Most of the other pitches seemed a little huddled together, in one instance a family had to take their guylines down to allow a caravan to get on its pitch.
Good amenities for kids and parents, the on site shop was well stocked and reasonably priced. Evening entertainment started about 6.30pm but in no way could it cope for the amount of people on site, buildings were well decorated and fitted out though. Showers and toilets were fine and cost 20p, not long enough in my opinion. This place is definitely suited to families with young children as there is a pool, arcades, funpark, gokarts and a kiddies club. The beach is a fair walk over the dunes or by road but its very nice.

July 2005 Just got back from 2 weeks at Trevornick and have to say it is probably the best commercial site we have stayed on. There are no statics here so that would explain why the touring facilities are so good for a commercial site.
The site is well landscaped and the premium pitches are huge (car, caravan, full awning, pup tent withs loads of room left).
The pool is of a decent size and is heated. On site fishing ponds are well stocked. Shop stocks most things but is expensive as are all site shops. Decent food served in on site cafe/takeaway. Three venues for a drink in the evening (Trawlers bar, club house and Gull Rock sports bar- stunning views over Holywell bay and golf course from beer garden).
The beach is a hard walk through the dunes and is excellent.
Loads for the kids to do.
We will be going back.

July 2005 Just left Trevornick had a super pitch which was flat and a good size. The toilets and showers were always very clean. Very friendly staff. Good club but if you are there for more than a week everything is repeated. And if you are there in peak weeks won't get a seat after half seven.
Many people we spoke to have been going for years. Unless you have walking boots on don't expect to walk to the beach from here. Overall a very good site but too many for the facilities

July 2005 Just got back from a weeks holiday at this site. We had a wonderful time, very clean and well run ascorted to pitch and staff very friendley and helpful. The kids club entertainment was very good although the bar is quite small and even if we got there at 6.30 we couldn't get a seat. However it is high season so perhaps that's usual.
Holywell beach is within walking distance and is excellent esp for little ones. There is a small inlet or stream running through it and they can paddle and play very safely while the sea is just a short walk away.Pitch however was on the small side and we just managed to squeeze our Aspen 700 on no, room for windbreaks or a utility tent and there was hardley any room between tents.(very crammed in) Good job that we got on so well with our neighbours.
Also only two washing up sinks caused a problem at times espe as they closed at 9pm. There is a theme park next to the park which is great for keeping the kids occupied but beware it's run with a token system and when you work out how much you are actually paying it's very expensive. Most families that I spoke to were spending between thirty to fifty pounds on it. Beware Merlins Maze with little ones we got lost and after an hour trailing around with crying children desperate for the toilet and a drink cheated and crawled under the enterence turnstyle. Shame they couldn't have provided an escape route, hate to think what would happen if there were an emergency.
In the surrounding area Newquay is nice to visit, but very hard to park, and we had a lovely time at Perraporth lovely pastys and chips on the beach.
Overall a nice site, lots to do and great for familys but chose your pitch wisely and check it's size, some are larger than others.

August 2004 Also visited August 03. The site is fantastic, we were there when the Boscastle floods happened and we got wet! However, the facilities were great, the toilets could have been a bit cleaner but I always compare it to Haven down the road and feel a bit better. It is a trek to the beach but what a beach! Central for Newquay and Perranporth. Not too many amusement arcades. Plenty of shops. Cornish pasties and cream teas on tap and a stone later none of my clothes fit. What a great holiday. I would recommend the site to anyone. We have had a super pitch and a regular one and they were both good pitches. Incidently, the webcam on their site is good for spotting the weather. JB
