July 2003 What a great site! It was partially landscaped, overlooking a wonderful and cheap Golf course. You could walk through the course to Holywell Bay beach, this was a long walk and not really suitable for anyone with mobility problems. The amenities are excellent, shower blocks are clean and washing facilities are also good. The entertainment was good, the childrens clubs fantastic with a good range of activities. The takeaway is surprisingly good and cheap. Nearby Newquay is good shopping but parking is a nightmare to say the least, Perranporth is my all time favourite seaside resort, why it should be so different from Scarborough I do not know, the life style is different and not a single amusement arcade in sight. I am reluctant to go elsewhere now I have found this site.

July 2001 This was an excellent site, everyone really friendly but not sickly with it. Loads of places to drink, which is most important of an evening!! Next door to the fun park which has something for everyone. Going back this year, we've booked the same pitch as we had before. This time though, I'll make sure we've got enough cash, as I remember it was about £1.25 to withdraw each time from their link machine thingy! They've now got a new pool, which my son can't wait to try out. It was a toss up this year whether we went back to Holywell Bay holiday park or here, but decided on Trevornick as the peeps are much more friendlier. Thats well worth an extra walk to the beach!

April 2004 This was our first time camping and it was brilliant, pitches are 10m x 10m so we had loads of room. We found the staff very friendly and helpful.the site was always clean as were the toilets and showers. The site seems to me very well managed. The fishing was good, my 2 sons and I had plenty of carp. We found the funfare was reasonable if you bought a large amount of tokens at the beginning of the week, therefore getting them cheaper. The beach wasn't as close as I expected but great fun for the 3 kids on the dunes on the way to the beach. We just loved our time there

August 2003 Large campsite and quite busy, but nice and clean. The walk to the beach is only for those who are quite fit, but the children (aged 2, 6, 11 and 14) enjoyed climbing the dunes. The nearby beach is beautiful, there's a small fun park on site, and a (cold) outdoor pool with a nice toddler pool. The shop is well stocked, what looked like a standard chips with everything take-away (we didn't try) and a typical campsite pub with entertainment. Lots to do in Newquay (but be prepared to queue in the traffic). It's good that you can book a pitch (chose to be near the loos for the baby etc) and when someone turned up in the dog-free area with a dog the staff dealt with that quickly and politely. Would recommend the site and would go back.

August 2003 What a site. even though it is large you get a feeling of space. Toilets & showers - cleaned twice a day showers 20p for about 5 mins and hot. Shop - well stocked and very reasonable. Entertainment- very good Staff really helpful and friendly. Swimming pool- very nice and popular Golf & fishing - excellent The site is well laid out and even fully booked not much noise everyone respected each other after 11 o clock. Holywell bay fun park can get expensive if a limit is not set. Playground for the children is very good. Cafe - serves lovely food and is also reasonable. hire shops hires everything you could need We wont use any other camp site in cornwall now. best I have been on so far

August 2003 Overall a good site in among some nice countryside. Booked on site because of the closeness of park to entertain children but was amazed at the prices charged (£30 gone in an hour) not somewhere the kids can pop into which is a shame. New pool is nice but pack out qickly in good weather and jacuzzi is victim of its own success.Pitch and putt is good entertainment and again popular. Good supermarket. Beach is superb but is quite a walk over dunes and has no facilities other than a sandwich truck and surf school, nearest toilets are a walk back over the dunes. Club is popular with decent entertainment but again is popular and if you are interested in the main entertainment which start around 10-10:30 each evening you have to arrive around 7-7:30 in order to get a seat, also very hot and smoky so although we would have liked to have gone more this was not to be. Site facilities good and level of hygene high. Comprehensive rental shop. During our stay, in the heat wave, we experienced a holiday in a cloud as an the offshore mist came in an sat in all the bays. Driving out we enjoyed Karting at St. Eval (expensive but very exciting and very well run), the Eden Project (which we found disappointing overall, prefer Kew). Overall we enjoyed the site but enjoyment could have been even higher.

july/august 2003 Well what can i say but the best uk site we have been to in the past 3 years. The swimming pool complex is superb with spa bath and jaquzi. Very helpful staff from reception to cleaners, nothing seems to be a problem for them, when we arrived there was a small problem with our pitch as it had somebody on it who had thrown their paperwork away and were adamant they were booked until the following day even though they had not paid until then. We sorted it out and squeezed our two folding campers in, they said pop into reception later and we will have a chat we were given a refund for the first night and so were the other party who travelled with us and all without having to argue, mistakes happen although i think somebody was trying it on. The only thing i could say negative would be the beach walk is quite a long one, would be more than happy to pay for a shuttle service down to the beach and back with all the body boards and wet suits as the car park by the beach soon fills up as it is a popular beach. All in all a great 2 week break and we were very tempted to book again for next year.
