This is a wonderful campsite. We stayed here for a couple of nights and were very impressed with the location, facilities and warm welcome we received.
The site is pretty big, spread across an expanse of sand dunes (think a links golf course without the golfers) and the pitches are very well spaced so you get a bit of personal space. The site is on an excellent beach and there are amazing views across to Skye and the Torridon hills, especially at sunset.
The shop is the best stocked campsite shop I've encountered, it has a better selection than the main shop in Gairloch with a great selection of food, camping equipment and toys, and the prices were very reasonable.
The toilet block is big and clean with plenty showers, sinks and cubicles - my wife appreciated that fact that there were straighteners in the ladies that you could use for 20p. There is also an indoor area with picnic benches where campers can eat, useful if the weather turns (not that we needed it as it was sunny both days we stayed).
There's even a Loch and river that angling guests can fish at no additional charge.
I'm definitely planning on coming back in the future.

Stayed for 7 days last august and this is a great site well maintained and spotless, shop is great and kids can hire bikes, wetsuits and kayaks so plenty for them to do. The only downside is the midges I live in Scotland so I am used to midges but my god have never seen it as bad as last year, when we were pitching our tent I could hardly see as they were all over my eyelashes and I was nearly crying at the thought of spending a week there, but as soon as the sun came out they disappeared but as this is Scotland the sun appears few and far between. Would love to go back to this site but couldn't put up with the midges again. It is a 3 mile walk into the village which is lovely and the butchers is fab all in all very good site and is dog friendly too also has resident pigs which the kids love.

Nice large site with well spaced out pitches which can be a pain if you end up miles from the loos! Love the camp anywhere rule they had but its so hard to pick a spot with so much space. Plenty of flat, sheltered pitches. Bit of a trek over the dunes to the sea from where we pitched and the midges were terrible but even the staff commented that they weren't normally that bad. We stayed 3 nights before moving on, bit too isolated with very little to do locally for us. Has a nice children's play area and small football pitch. Would suit older children better, our 21 month old was hard work to keep carrying around.
As a bonus they are a hotspot for the Highland Wifi system so you can get super speedy internet to keep you connected. We had no EHU but used the games room to charge the laptop.
Staff were all lovely and friendly. Well stocked shop with all basics available. Small toilet block near the entrance with a much larger one in the centre of the camping area, never saw any queues and they were always spotless. Plenty of washing up sinks and picnic benches in the cookhouse so no washing up in the rain. Gets very dark at night so don't forget your torch. Would visit again if we go up that way in future.

Great site really big with lots of different areas for pitching up we were basically told to go and find a pitch as long as we left 7 metres between us and the next van super!
Toilet block appears to have been half renovated - the floor tiles look new and there are plenty of showers and toilets and indeed three blocks altogether but there was no mop to clean up the showers and with the site being on the beach virtually there was a lot 0f sand about.
Shop was open from 8. 30 am to 8. 00 pm and the best stocked shop I have seen on a site ever and good prices
Great views over the Minch but midges were plentiful so take lots of skin so soft and cintronella candles (although shop stocks lots of anti midge stuff)

This is a great campsite. Although it is large and busy, it doesn't feel like it. The pitches are spaced out with dunes and long grass separating spaces.
There are large shower blocks with plenty of showers/toilets so no waiting. With large indoor areas with tables and seats for bad weather and cooking facilities if needed (coin operated).
There is also a shop and games room. On the site are laundry facilities. With a nice sandy beach and great sea views this site is ideal for all.
Gairloch is a great little town with plenty of pubs, restaurants gift shops and activities including wildlife trips to see dolphins, whales, sea eagles etc.
I have used this site for three years and would recommend it to all.

Great campsite. Clean toilet blocks & plenty of hot water. They have an indoor area for washing dishes which also has tables where you can sit to eat if its wet and small hob to cook on.
Shop very well stocked including children's wet suits for £15. Fresh pain au chocolate and danish pastries also fresh bread and rolls. Beaches clean.
Recommend a trip to Bridge Cottage Cafe at Poolewe - lovely sandwiches and superb homemade cakes. Whilst in Poolewe visit the Button Bothy - Alison has beautiful jewellery at very affordable prices. Tues Market in hall has great selection of foods and crafts. Butchers in Gairloch/Strath has amazing fresh burgers and sausages -
small supermarket opp car park and next to Na Mara bistro has great selection of cheeses and homemade quiches.
We managed to watch dolphins from pier down at main harbour - it was a baby and mother who had been resident for 4 months which was unusual.

We had visited friends staying here the year before and decided it was such a gorgeous place that we would have a weeks camping here. The location is gorgeous, set beside the sea. Loads of space for kids to run/bike, small playpark.
The toilet block & showers could do with a bit of an update - you have to keep pressing the shower button as it only stays on a short time, also the showers were very busy and people were not cleaning them after using them.
In the scullery there are benches and tables and an area for putting your stove to cook if the weather is bad, that was a great idea as it poured with rain on our last night - although the rest of the week we had glorious, scorching sunshine.
There is a small TV/Games room for the kids which was great and a well stocked shop. The staff were very friendly. Lovely views of Sky and the Outer Hebrides.
Nearby in Gairloch itself there is the pier and lots of boat trips available, we saw whales, seals, birds & dolphins.
Overall a fantastic holiday, my only complaint was that in the height of summer (on a beach) the toilets & showers need cleaned more than once a day - and could do with being updated!

What can I say. We discovered our own piece of paradise. Fantastic location in the sand dunes.
The most amazing beach and clear blue/green sea. Our weather was brilliant but even in the rain it was still nice. We had views from our van over to Skye and Lewis.
No formal marked pitches and you can pitch where you want within the 7 m rule. Site is huge so you never feel squashed in and the dunes and different levels mean that you never look into someone else Fab kids play area with zip slide.
Football pitches and kayaks and bikes available to hire from the site.
A well stocked shop but for the best butcher meat I have tasted in a long time, visit Gairlochs own butcher who also happens to sell the best selection of fresh fruit and veg.
Prices here in this part of Scotland are quite a bit dearer than most parts of the uk and this was the biggest shock to our budget. Next time we would hit Morrisons for the staples, cereals, tins etc. Toilet blocks clean and showers free.
Even family showers. Free hairdryers. Laundry block with plenty washers and dryers. There is even a cookhouse with cookers and benches for campers if the rain gets too much.
TV and games room for kids. We stayed over our time and can't wait to go back next year ( with supplies)

this is a very good campsite with different areas for tents among the sand dunes.
Very clean very safe for children. Not a lot for very young children but great for those older.
Water sports canoeing very good can be hired from shop. Great family dance near every week good fun.
Would surely go back. Great shop great customer service. A bit out in the wilds but great for safety of children.
There is a sports centre near for wet day archery badminton that kind of thing. I am sure they do arts and crafts for young kids only costs a few pounds and great value.
One more thing in high season camp has pottery classes for children in a shed at the camp.

This is our favourite campsite. We have visited several times and are always delighted to return. There are plenty of hook-ups and the site is extremely spacious - so lots of room to enjoy the spectacular views, or shelter in the hollows if it's windy.
The site is adjacent to a long sandy beach with dunes to shelter in and rocks to go rock-pooling. Superb toilet and shower facilities, an extremely well stocked shop and a fabulous children's play area add to the enjoyment. Camping facilities for tents, caravans and camper vans as well as wooden wigwams and chalets make it an ideal spot for everyone.
The town is delightful with a good mix of practical shopping, eating places and gift shops. We can definitely recommend the Mountain Coffee Shop and Hillbillies Gift Shop. Fresh fish is sold from the harbour, where you can also take boat trips out into the bay and beyond.
Only thing to be aware of is midges which are typical of the west coast of Scotland - but there were none here on this visit, and the shop stocks deterrents if you forget them.
