Fabulous, Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The site is amazing and gorgeous. Toilet and Shower blocks were clean and lots of them.
Beware, winds do get strong very suddenly, our tent and many others were wrecked, tie downs a must.
Midges were a pain but the site is doing all it can to combat this and there is a room to eat and cook in if needed.
I highly recommend this site, just be careful.

We visited here for a long weekend in July to try out our new RV before heading to France a couple of weeks later but we loved it that much we cancelled our trip and came back for 2 weeks in August.
The staff are very helpful and the site is huge with plenty of toilet / shower blocks, washing and laundry facilities. The service point for the Motorhomes is top class with easy access off the road (so you don't cause a traffic jam when using it) Our RV is 36 foot long and the site is perfect for manoeuvring in.
The views are great and the beach is outstanding. We cant wait till the season starts again in April and the kids keep asking when we are going back. The next time we go we will be Bringing our tow-along as there are only two taxis in the area and one had been put off the road when we were there so we didn't get the full potential out of the surrounding area.

Last visited this site over 15 years ago as a teenager and have now returned with my young children, and it is still excellent!
Site shop is well stocked, the staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Both beach & playground are excellent for the kids.
Toilet Blocks are very clean, although the block in the tent area still has the same fittings as my last visit, except the showers are now free and not 20p!
The site is positioned by sand dunes, close to the shore so generally has a sea breeze to keep the midges away - repellent is a must.
Ideal base for canoeists, wind surfers, kite surfers and walkers. Loch Maree and the Torrodin fells are only a short drive away.
Highly recommended and will gladly visit again.

Lovely site. Very efficient and informative staff on arrival. Tent sites are in an extensive area away from caravans and statics.Although campervans do seem to fall into tent classification! You can be as close or as far away form facilities as you want and still remain a short stroll from the beach.
Playpark was a great size (not huge but had enough) for the children and kept them occupied when setting up or dismantling.
Shower / toilet blocks were more that adequate.Did look like ageing swimming pool facilities but clean, warm and water hot. Push button shower controls were a little annoying as on a very short cycle (or needed pressed in all the time) but someone had hooked up an ingenious cable tie in one that I used which worked like a dream!
Great indoor area for cooking / eating if weather turned for the worse. Would say this was the most social area of the site as you can be pitched quite a distance from anyone else.
Good shop.Well stocked.Decent prices - very handy as you are a bit out of Gairloch. Certainly were not ripping you off for being an on site facility!
Would go back and stay longer. Was windy but that blew the midgies away and hey it's right on the coast of West of Scotland so wind is expected and anything that blows the midgies away is welcome!

This site is in one of the loveliest locations you could imagine - metres from the beach, among the sprawling sand dunes. Arriving at reception, you are given a map of the large site and a list of 'rules' to make everyone's stay more enjoyable. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent and plenty of them - you may have to queue in the morning for a shower but if you leave it a bit later then no problems. The site has a well stocked shop - you can even place an order for the bakery for breakfast. You are asked to pitch approx 7 metres from the next nearest tent. This does give you privacy but sometimes the site lacked the friendliness you would normally find on smaller sites. I have to say that the midges were out in force and meant that sitting with a glass of wine watching the sunset was almost impossible. The site has installed midge machines but I don't think they make much difference. The close proximity to the beach makes it ideal if you have children - you do have to be careful as the wind can whip up quickly so I would not let my kids go unsupervised, even teenagers. The site had a play park for younger children which was great - my only criticism was that some of the kids were on the Flying Fox before 7 in the morning and the creaking and whirring of the wire wasn't conducive to sleep! There were lots of dogs on the site and everyone seemed to keep them well under control and clean up after them which was great. The site is a bit away from the town but the shop on site stocks most items. There are plenty of things to do in the surrounding areas eg trip on the glass bottomed boat in Gairloch, stunning drive to the lighthouse (now a hostel) at Rua Reidh and there is a lovely little coffee shop in Poolewe about 20 - 30 mins drive away which is well worth a visit. Would definitely return to this site if I could find a deterrent for the midges!

We passed up the Gairloch site as it looked crowded and pressed on to this one. ONLY disadvantage is distance from town.
This is how a site should be run. Best toilet and shower facilities and in immaculate condition every time I went in them. Loads of room (handy with a dog) and asked to pitch at least 7 metres away from anyone else. Hook ups well placed and despite rolling meadows there are plenty of level areas to park a camper/mobilehome. Shop on site.
This site has a bit of everything. Statics, cabins, vans, mobiles, tents etc and uses it's area imaginatively with selective mowing to outline areas for each. Very natural and no signs required. Dunes and a wonderful beach for the kids and families and whilst in the office they looked up a forecast for some kayakers on their PC. Very friendly, excellent value and of course those unbeatable West Highland views.
Unless you want the town itself I'd choose this for Gairloch.

We are just back from a stunning 2 night break at Sand's, we stayed in one of the large wigwam's which were great for us (family of 4) and to be honest I really cannot recommend the accommodation or site highly enough. The toilet's on site were great, always plenty of hot water and very clean.
Gairloch itself is a lovely wee town and the drive into it really is something to behold - we will be back again a few time's this year!

Had this site recommended to us and it did not disappoint.
Touring pitches for caravans are up away from the dunes and are quite exposed to the wind - good thing as it keeps the midges at bay.
Toilet facilities are a plenty and there is an excellent playpark and well stocked shop onsite.
The sunsets over the Outer Hebrides from the road to Red Point are a must to catch if you are lucky !
Very family friendly and the kids were delighted with the beach - as was the dog !

Went here in 2007 so DH could relive his childhood. His family went here every year from when he was about 6 until he was 16 so it had been about 15 years since he'd last been.
We had a fantastic time, the inlaws came in their caravan and there was loads of space for the kids to run safely outside the caravans. The Cameron's are very friendly and made us all very welcome. The drive in has stunning views. The beach just over the dunes was wonderful and we spent a few brilliant afternoons here. Also went out to Red Point (?) and played 'golf' on a deserted Gairloch Beach just behind the golf club.
The pub at Badachro Bay was lovely as was the food. Some lovely little shops down by the harbour. Also visited the farmers market nearby which was small but very friendly and definitely worth the trip if you like home grown, home made produce.
Definitely worth a visit!

Our third visit a lovely spacious site. Facilities are good/clean and they now have a sheltered area to cook in etc, staff are friendly & helpful there are free freezer storage for cool blocks or you can pay 20p per block if you want it left in the shop. Shop open late and well stocked, up until this year we have always caught fish off the pier in Gairloch which is a busy pier but wonderful views. There are also a couple of resident seals so it is often a fight to see who wins the fish.
The midgees are often out and can be a great nuisance but as it is mostly breezy on site this keeps them to a minimum. The only draw back we found was the wind which each year has gotten the better of us as we have a large family tent so it is advisable to pick a sheltered spot.
