What a lovely campsite and great owners, Bev and Dave. Stayed with my kids, friend Helen and her two - they had a blast. Never seen such lovely, clean loos and showers - better than home! All round excellent site near lots of places of interest, beaches etc.

This is one of the nicest campsites I have ever visited. With a maximum of 60 pitches it is a quiet site set in beautiful countryside. There are three fields in use, the top field isn't used as much as the lower two. The pitches are large. The wash facilities are excellent and cleaned several times each day, There are three showers each for men and women. There are three toilets for women and two for men (plus two urinals). In addition to these, there is a family wash room, which is accessible by those using wheelchairs. This makes washing the kids at the end of a day considerably easier than using most campsite showers. The adventure playground is first rate and my children loved it. There is a sand pit for younger children which is covered each night. There is also a large trampoline with safety netting. If this doesn't wear the kids out there is a football pitch up at the top field. The owners are kindness itself. It is obvious that they love the job and nothing is too much trouble for them. Bev runs a session in the mornings where the children are encouraged to help look after the many rabbits, chicks and goats that the site has. They also run family activities through the week. There is a supermarket in Newcastle Emlyn, five minutes drive away. The town has all the usual amenities, and has a very helpful medical centre to help to deal with holiday accidents! On-site there is a nice rustic bar (open 5 days a week), and children games room. But over all this is a beautiful quiet site. A perfect place for a family holiday. I can't recommend it highly enough and only wish that I lived close enough to make weekend visits a possibility.

Dolbryn is one of the nicest sites we have visited in the last three years. It's in a beautiful setting just a mile or so from the sleepy, but interesting town of Newcastle Emlyn. Our three children (7, 5. & 1) had a great time and actually cried when we had to come home.
The toilets and shower facilities are immaculate. The pitch sizes are generous and the grass is very green and flat. Most pitches seemed to have electric hook-up and taps were spaced evenly around the field.
The play park kept our kids busy but there's lots of other things to do with the kids too. We had an afternoon fishing in one of the lakes (more of a pond really) and although we didn't catch anything, we did have a good time. There's a great dog walk up by the vineyard where the children enjoyed playing hid & seek in the long grass.
There's a farm nearby producing lovely organic cheese and we also visited the woolen museum. The staff there were really nice and tried their hardest to make the place interesting to young children. We also liked Newcastle Emlyn. We went in on a Saturday night and it was like a Sunday afternoon in other towns, very quiet and friendly. There's a good pub which serves real ale (Bunch Of Grapes) and an Indian restaurant that will serve take-aways.
We had a lovely long weekend and the weather was great. Amelia's ice-creams were delicious and very good value. Can't wait to return for a longer stay.

Just spent the Easter weekend at Dolbryn. Bev and Dave made great hosts, and ensured that the kids were kept occupied. Toilets and showers were kept spotlessly clean. Nice, flat pitches, with plenty of open spaces for ball games, etc. The children's park was ideal and very safe.
Nice, friendly welcome. The children didn't want to leave. Will certainly return to this lovely site soon.

We have just returned from this Campsite (having stayed over Easter weekend) and were thrilled to bits! We normally stay at Caravan Club sites - so this was a real change for us. Dave, Bev & children are in their 3rd year with this site and with a great deal of hard work and enthusiasm, have created a wonderful haven for familes and couples alike. We had a large 9-man tent and travelled with family (2 other caravans). We had been pitched together in 'The Pines' field with the fabulous playground opposite. Kids were delighted with the sandpit, rope-bridge, swings, slide, trampoline and even the chickens/ducks that roamed around! They even got to help feed the rabbits.. The opposite field 'The Lakes' has a beautiful natural pond at one end and all pitches (in both fields) are large & have electric hook-up facilities. Though we visited at a peak time and the site was full, we did not feel in the least 'crammed in'. The toilet & shower facilities are fabulous - we were impressed with the way they had kept them in keeping with the 'farmhouse' style yet having all the mod cons (the free hot power showers are the best I have ever seen!) and all were kept scrupulously clean. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for the owners. The real hit for the kids were the two goats (be warned, they will eat anything within nibbling distance, which includes your shirt cuffs and your toddlers hair!). Numerous times our kids trotted along to the adjacent field to feed them - they are undoubtedly the best fed goats in Wales! We only visited the bar once (simply because we have young children and didn't want to off-load on the grandparents for too long!) but it was a welcome break. Wonderful real fire and a great atmosphere. Felt just like our local at home - small and quaint. We felt like we were amongst friends!
Only open at weekends and over holiday periods between 7-11pm and staffed by either Dave or Bev. We were a little concerned that a bar on site would mean it would be rowdy - but far from it. People wandered back to their tents/ caravans and there was very little noise, certainly none after 11.30pm (considering it was a Bank Holiday and the campsite was full!). All in all, we were really impressed with this site and can't wait to return. We've promised the kids we will book again for Easter next year for certain as they were in their element with the egg-rolling, egg-throwing and treasure hunts 'laid' on by Dave & Bev. Certainly one of the best sites we have visited - miss this and you've missed a real treat.

A fantastic site. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our two children, Michael and Joseph, were in their element. A well laid out site with plenty of space between the perimeter pitches. It was great having the centre of the field for the children (and adults) to play ball games. The chickens, goats and play area were a big hit with the kids.
Dave and Bev could not do enough to help us.The bar in the evening was a great way of winding down before retiring to our tent. There are well thought out walks for the dogs as well. Mark particularly liked the walk that Bev suggested we go on; a lovely wooded walk, a short car journey away, that followed a stream and ended at a rocky waterfall. The beatifull sights that we saw at the waterfall pool were something, my husband, Mark will remember for a long time! We enjoyed camping at Dolbryn so much that we booked a week in May as soon as our stay had ended.

We were greeted on arrival and told all about the site and shown to our pitch. we were lucky to be right near the play area as I have a 9 year old. The play area was great with a large trampoline. My son loved feeding chickens, goats and rabbits and also the freedom to roam around the walks on site. The club house was small but friendly with games and quizzes. The showers and toilets were always clean and well stocked. All in all an excellent site, very peaceful, friendly and well located.

A wonderful friendly and warm welcoming site. The facilities are maintained to a very good standard and the owners are always there to help if you need it. The local villages and places to see are well worth the visit. Located close to Cardigan and the coast of west wales are only a drive away. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and will return recommended +++++++

Very well laid out site. Owners very friendly and helpful. Really clean toilets and showers. Is worth a visit. Great place for the kids to play, also very good for walking the dog. If it had a shop on site it would be perfect, so just take plenty of supplies, though there is a supermarket a short drive away. Had a lovely time thanks again..

Finest family venue. Space, nature and peace! PROBABLY the best kept secret in West Wales! Flat site, new shower/toilets, good dog walking area, well equipped play park and even a football pitch!
Bar - rustic, cosy and charming. Fully equipped with board games, hoopla, library and drawing corner.
IMPORTANT: Such a family centred site could lull you into a false sense of security...there is a deep pond (well fenced) but you must keep an eye on your children. You, your children and your dogs will be made to feel very welcome. Well Done Bev and Dave!
