We had an amazing stay at this site. The owners were very friendly. The site was quiet at night as it is very family orientated, which was great as our daughter is very young. She loved feeding the animals with Bev and also the small park. The site was great for children with plenty for them to do. The showers were free and seemed to have plenty of hot water and the family room was very useful when it came to our daughter. The toilets were always clean. We are considering going back for a longer stay.

The campsite is clean neat and friendly. Amenities, laundry, etc, brilliant
Family / owners lovely
Pub on site small and friendly, open 7. 30 - 10. 30 due to child friendly camp
Surrounding areas beautiful
Very generous size pitches. If you don't like children however don't go. We were in the lakes field - no ball games apparently quieter, not by much, however wouldn't put me off going again. Owners very obliging

There is one word that can sum up this site and owners fantastic!
3 of 2 adults and 1, 3 year old girl us spent 5 nights here.
From the first minute we were made to feel welcome by Bev who helped us to choose a good pitch for our tent, she ran few a few basic rules and let us crack on.
There are mens and womens toilets with 2 toilets in each as well as separate shower rooms, there is also a family room which we used everyday and really helped us save time cleaning and getting our little one ready for our planned days. (the showers are free!)
The owners have a wash room and fridge freezer available and in the same room a mountain of leaflets of local attractions, this is very helpful indeed though bev told me of one she knew locally which was brilliant.
As mentioned in the previous review, each morning at around 9am the animals are fed and children on the site are invited to help, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats and the 2 pigs Meredith and Noah at no extra charge and my Daughter (and me) loved it.
There is a small bar/tuck shop on Friday and Saturdays which is popular on site and well managed by Dave or Bev allowing everyone to socialize and relax in safe surroundings, while older children congregate in a teen room near by though the noise curfew was still maintained.
All in all it is as I said at the start Fantastic.
Thank you. We will be back!

We have just returned from a week at this site, 2 adults and 2 girls age 11 and 5.
This was a fantastic peaceful site with a great park for the children and animals too. The owners are really friendly and let the children help feed the animals on a morning. Chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats and pigs, they even take the pigs for a walk in the field with them.
The facilities are lovely and clean with plenty of hot water, there is also a laundry room with lots of information of the local area.
The site also has a small fishing pond which is free to fish, husband and girls enjoyed fishing there.
The site has a small barn bar which opens weekends and some evening as it was a school holiday week, we played bingo one evening and did a quiz another, the children are included in these with children's bingo and quiz.
Small village nearby with shops to get anything you may need and a large town (Camarthan) not too far away.
If you like peaceful, family friendly sites then this site is fantastic, we would definitely return if visiting Wales again.

This is not a our first or won't be our last visit to this excellent site. The owners are the perfect hosts at all times.
The toilet facilities are in a converted out building and are spotless and in keeping with the surroundings. There are family/disabled toilet and shower facilities too, outside wash up area, play area with petting area, pigs and goats there too. The barn bar is an added bonus serving bottles, cans and some spirits, with kids tuck shop and for those of you who don't want a drink tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available.
During bank holiday weekends and school holidays they tend to do sticky club on Saturday mornings for the whole of the family to get involved, the bar opens in the evenings on weekends and during school holidays it opens some evenings. Plus they do quiz nights and bingo for both children and adults.
All in all I would recommend this place to both families, single travellers and couples as they have 3 fields, Pines near to the play area(more level field), Lakes near to the lake and quite a relaxed feel to it (some pitches on a gradient, some man made level pitches, both have ehu) and Mountain View which has no ehu and tends to be the tent field but have seen caravans, trailer tents and folding campers in it.
Newcastle Emlyn is the nearest place to shops, takeaways, pubs and Restaurants. There are waterfalls in the village and cennarth also a cheese factory at cennarth while well sign posted its a bit out of the way to fined the cheese factory but well worth it.

Our First Visit to the site and what a find.
Shown to our pitch by the owner and the kids found the park immediately and off they went to leave us set up in peace. They met up with the owners and fellow campers every morning to feed the sites animals pigs goats rabbits chickens etc a novelty for our little tribe. As the weather was miserable rain rain and more rain we appreciated our visit to the on site barn bar where we played bingo and the kids could also play for sweets there was also a quiz which we joined in with. As the weather was pretty wet the shower and toilet block were kept clean and plenty of hot water to do the dishes in pots and pans also washing machine and drying facilities available at an additional cost. Nearby village has everything you need supermarket chip chop etc. We also visited the local cheese farm and cenarth falls and highly recommend The Three Horseshoes for a meal.
Having read other reviews the only criticism that we have is that there was a number of friends or seasonal pitches there who gathered in a large group at the entrance of the field that we were in and we found this a little off putting and considerably noisy.
We would definitely go back but would request the other field as it seemed quiter.

Just spent our second holiday in what I would call Bev and Dave's little piece of paradise. It truly is a special family friendly site. Shame about the horrendous weather we have all suffered. But the owners did really go the extra mile helping to make the best of it by laying on family activities for us all to enjoy?
The facilities were again kept spotlessly clean And we hope to return again next year hopefully with some sunshine

In brief, because others have covered the background and history better than I, we booked here because of the reviews but frankly I was a little bit suspicious before going - no site is that good, surely? However this camp site is brilliant. (Should have trusted the reviewers more).
Go here if you like Wales, want peace and quiet and like small, family run sites for families. Do not go here if you want noise, need to be entertained or seek bright lights and loud people.
The owners seem to invest a lot of themselves in this site and it shows; it's in the details with the little bunches of flowers in the toilets, the signs showing where everything is, the weekly kids club (Sticky Club), the morning ritual of animals feeding, the barn bar with its library and games. In terms of facilities there are showers with taps (not timed plungers) and adequate hot water, toilets and washbasins, all cleaned daily and the toilets about three times daily, a free fridge/freezer, cheap washing machines and a dryer, a teenagers room, bar that opens in the evenings 5 days a week where there are general knowledge quizzes, bingo etc, a small children's playground and a washing up area. Don't think I've missed anything, but it's worth mentioning that there is also a small lake stocked with fish where you can fish for free.
Overall I was stunned at how little it cost. It is clear that Bev and Dave don't do this for the money (we paid £18 per night for a HUGE pitch with hookup, large tent and porch, 2 kids, 2 adults and a dog) but for the love and we felt surrounded by love; the bar is run at supermarket prices.
What we liked:- site, location and surroundings, pitch, hookup, attention and customer care from the site, bar, kids activities, fellow campers, dog facilities (there's a dog sitting service!).
What we didn't like:- it rained torrentially for 10 out of 12 days. Apparently has done since May. This resulted in the rain sitting on top of the field and not draining properly - I should emphasise that our site managed better than others and the drainage problems were not as a result of inaction by the owners, just constant and consistent rain for day after day.
Locally we found some of the activities absorbing (Woollen Museum, 3 steam railways all within striking distance, the town centres of Cardigan, Camarthen, Newport all great to walk) the scenery dramatic and striking but the supermarkets and fuel prices expensive. Even compared to Surrey.
Newcastle Emlyn was lovely and the walk around the castle and the Teiffy beautiful. Ate at one of the local eateries and spent £30 on food that my dog could have cooked better. We particularly loved Aberporth and the beach (dog friendly and with sand for the kids.
So, 2 weeks of hard core camping with persistent rain. Woken every morning to the sound of a big bird of prey, chickens cows and other nature noises. Tent didn't leak, we cooked just fine, it wasn't cold, kids loved it, the scenery was beautiful and site and surroundings quiet and restful. We set up in rain, packed up in rain. Left feeling rested and destressed. Would we go again? Yes. Recommend? Yes. The danger is that too many people will find out about this site.
NB gave site facilities a 9 because no takeaway pizza. Laugh out loud.

Fantastic site for camping with young children. Our two had a great time feeding the animals each day. We all enjoyed the fun activities in the evening and the lovely children's activity Saturday morning :)
The facilities were kept very clean and everything was reasonably laid out, while still retaining a more rustic farmhouse feel.
The property itself was enjoyable to explore and provided plenty of space for the kids to spread out safely (with supervision near the stream and pond).
The children's park was simple, but effective in providing morning distraction while we got ready for our trips of the day. We enjoyed the nearby wool museum on a very very rainy day - they had a great kids section and also had tea and sandwiches - definitely worth a visit. Other days we did the beach, a bike ride near cardigan to the wildlife refuge there, Newcastle emlyn was sweet with nice shops and cafes, and we also did a national trust gold mine visit that was a real hit with the kids!
The owners were really helpful and gave good recommendations. Thanks!
The only downside was the horrid rain Wales has had all summer, which meant that the pitches were suffering with some muddy patches. We did spend quite a bit of time in wellys. But for all that rain the site definitely showed how much care was taken to keep it as good as possible under the circumstances.
Highly Recommended!
