We have just spent ten days here. The site is kept immaculate as are all facilities. Dave and Bev are great, very welcoming and helpful. This senior week we thought has been great idea, the price was good and the same can be said for the days out that was arranged.
John thought the fishing on site was good and we had quite a few laughs in the Barn Bar. We`ll be down again later in the year, (and please arrange another senior week).

Well where do I begin, we arrived on good Friday in heavy rain, this was our first time on this camp site. Dave and Bev, the owners, greeted us with a smile, and was so very helpful, the 2 nicest people you could find, they booked our touring caravans in, myself and husband in one caravan and my daughter, husband and 2 children in another caravan. We were booked in next to each other in the pine field
What a jem of a site, the fields were well looked after, the toilets and showers were lovely and clean, and the barn they have the bar in was great, really homely, (just like Emmerdale) and everyone was friendly happy and enjoying themselves.
Bev organised events all week-end with the children, Easter bonnet parade, making easter baskets, painting eggs, egg hunt and on Easter monday, roll your eggs down a hill, then everyone did egg throw, what great fun all weekend, my grandchildren loved every minute of it
Not forgetting the lovely animals for everyone to pet, I walked also every day to feed the 2 goats that were in the top field, they got to know me by the end of our stay. Yes we will be back.

We found Bev & Dave so friendly and helpful. Despite only living 75 miles away, we knew nothing of the area and they helped us out with info on what to do and where to go.
We have two children, then aged 2 & 4, and the only criticism I can find is that they found the toilet block a bit of a trek from where we were in the field.
The laundry/shower/toilet block were always immaculate, the fields were well kept (despite the torrential amount of rain we had) and the play area and animals were wonderful for the children.
It was our first year of camping as a family (hubby was also a first-timer). This year we intend to go back, as long as Bev & Dave have room for our new improved massive beast of a tent!
It gets a definite 9.9/10 from us. Fingers crossed that the weather improves for this year, as last year we sadly couldn't see the Perseids shower. Here's hoping!

Dolbryn is situated in an area of wales that has an abundance of natural beauty. Ready access to many mini coastal resorts as well as larger ones, all unspoiled by over commercialisation.
Many places of historical, cultural and culinary interest are on the door step as well as lovely quirky and interesting shops.
All this and much, much, more can be discovered and explored from the comfort of Dolbryn. Dave and Bev, your hosts, have strived and succeded in creating a beautiful setting to springboard you in your journey of discovering Wales.
The site itself is a truly lovely balance of adaptation of existing old farm buildings to provide for modern hygiene requirements without creating 'blots on the landscape'.
A lovely evening can be had in the old barn, with a glass in your hand, sharing the delights of your day with other guests. A beautiful fire in the log burner to warm your cockles (if they need warming).
If you fancy a 'day off' you could do worse than spending your time meandering around the grounds. A lovely pond provides fishing for those who fancy catching the huge one your new friend told you about in the barn last night. The pond provided the venue for a kingfisher to strut its stuff whilst we were staying. Although not 'twitchers' we saw lots of beautiful birds as well as other wildlife.
This was our first visit to Dolbryne and we shall certainly be returning. Others we spoke to are so regular in their visits that they could be termed as semi resident.
The overall impression we are left with is one of great respect for all that Dave, Bev and family have achieved. Far from resting on their well deserved laurels they continue to strive to enhance all they already offer. A warm welcome awaits you in a wonderful setting that isn't tainted with commercialism. Rest assured if you choose this site you will not leave it feeling dissappointed

It was a really nice site on the whole and has been put on our list of ones to use again. The kids & husband loved the fishing. The toilet / shower facilities were kept clean and it was unusual to meet anyone else using them. We visited the bar a couple of times and it was cosy & warm with the log burner. The CCTV in the teen room & outside was a great for relaxing in the bar and keeping a watch on what was going on next door.
Laundry room was great to have especially with all the rain we had during the stay. If pushed to find any faults with the site it would be I wish it had drying faculties in the actual laundry room not at the house - Do you really want to hand over your underwear for someone else to dry for you ! !
They do have a noise policy that the site must be totally quite after a certain time which is great as noise carries from tents.
Bev & Dave were extremely friendly and helpful and lent us a board to uses in the doorway of the tent when the ground became boggy with all the rain and it was becoming dangerous to get in and out of without slipping. You can’t help the weather and there have been weeks and weeks of rain this year. But Dave is planning on improving the site for next year, which will be welcome as the smell from rotting grass / boggy field is horrendous but that is something that could happen at any site with the amount of rain we had this year. Hopefully next time we visit the weather will be better.

An awful site! Awfully good. This site is a little gem. We stayed during the Welsh monsoon season (April to November!) but nothing seemed to dampen Dave and Bev's enthusiasm to keep all the campers happy.
We stayed in the mountain view field and were given a choice of where to pitch anywhere. Dave advised us of the best places and we pitched in the middle on a level piece in a sloping field. There are many of these flat pieces, so if you pick carefully then the general gradient of the field is not a problem.
The peace and quiet is deafening and even with children running around playing it didn't bother us. The play area is off another of the fields, but the children were just having a whale of a time enjoying the freedom of the whole site. Our children were playing with a rugby ball and there was plenty of room for them to do up and unders in our field.
The toilet and shower block was clean and fresh, despite the weather being poor. Plenty of hot water. It was a nice touch having a fridge freezer in the laundry, which meant that we could keep things cool in their fridge.
The barn bar was brilliant. Nice atmosphere, cheap drink, and, on one night, a log burner. The bingo night was a laugh, especially as I won £7 for having a line! The children and the adults had different games, with Dave being a great bingomaster, with an echo transmitting the numbers to the room at the back.
The local area is lovely. I was brought up about twenty miles further up the river Teifi, and since leaving the area, I have become more and more impressed with the unspoilt feel of the area. Of course there are touristy things going on, but it doesn't give the feeling that it has spoilt the area. Dolbryn tends to adapt that ethos really well.
All in all, a wonderful site, run by very friendly people, in a beautiful part of the country.

Family of 5 (2 adults + 3 girls: 11,9,4).
3rd time of visiting (previously 2008 & 2006) and it just gets better and better at this site and we are already planning to come back a 4th time next year. If you like family camping with plenty of opportunity for children to explore and make their own friends and fun, and for you to get to know other campers then Dolbryn is for you. Each time we go the site it seems to be more sociable with residents chatting over a coffee / beer / BBQ at all times of day & evening, plus of course the chance to meet in the bar later on.
Dave, Bev & their family are wonderful and friendly, putting on events for families and children, plus 'Bingo' and quiz nights in the bar around the log burning stove - fantastic. It was stew and stars night when we were there this year which was great - the kids will remember it for years to come.
The facilities are all in old farm buildings which adds a wonderful quaintness to the whole thing, but everything you want as a camper is there and works well - hot showers, hot water for washing up, immaculately clean toilets, etc. The animals are lovely and the children just love feeding them. Best suited for young families (ages toddler through to 12-13ish) I'd say.
Masses to do in the area, great site, great hosts.

What a delightful site. We picked this site because it was in an area of Wales we had visited a few years ago. Dolbryn caught our eye because of the amount of reviews it had and that they were all positive.
Well we were not disappointed. Dave and Bev are warm and welcoming making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. We have two children both girls aged 7 and 8 and they loved it.
We had a pitch in the pines field which is for families and were near the playground. The children loved the feeding of the animals and the freedom that came with a site of this size and its location. With the children enjoying themselves we could relax so much more compared with being on other sites. Bev and Dave do so much our two enjoyed the sticky club on a saturday morning, and the pony rides. They also tried their hand at fishing in the lake and both caught a fish.
Facilities were always kept immaculate, it was good to have a fridge to keep food in not just a freezer. Dave and Bev keep the site well maintained.
There is plenty to do in this part of Wales from nature walks and sandy beaches to theme parks and museums. Newcastle Emlyn is a lovely town with some very good shops.
A great three weeks was had by all.

Stayed here last week and despite some mixed weather we really loved the site and the local area.
Bev and Dave were great hosts and the bar they run really came into its own on some pretty damp evenings; so damp that the woodburner was lit to give a really cosy atmosphere, plus the kids are made to feel really welcome. The rest of the facilities were top notch. The camping field got a big boggy with the rain, but Dave was working really hard to make sure that the grass stayed in a useable condition.
We also loved Newcastle Emlyn with its independent shops and cafes - ate 2 fab breakfasts in Harrisons nr the castle and then you can pop next door to the butchers/deli for great picnic food (assuming weather is kind enough).
Local beaches were excellent (on the 2 sunny days we had), plus the national wool centre and Mwldan theatre in Cardigan are well worth a visit. Great stuff all round - we will be back.

I agree with everything already said. The site and owners, Dave and Bev couldn't be friendlier to both kids and adults.
The facilities were perfect, totally in keeping with the old buildings and always clean. I never saw anyone else in the shower block.
What a fab site. I was dubious about going all the way to Wales (as Dorset is our usual place from Surrey) but after having read all the reviews here we just couldn't not go! We booked for 4 nights with our boys aged 3 and 5.
All in all, the boys loved the goats, feeding rabbits/ chickens every morning, fishing pond (wow - huge hit as 5 yr old caught his first fish using gear hired from Dave and now hooked on fishing!) and kids club on Sat morning which was a craft and face painting. We didn't venture to the bar in the eves so can't comment on that.
We loved it and will return next year, for longer!
