We have visited this site often but have just returned from Dolbryn & had the best visit ever. It has returned to the friendly relaxing site as the cliqueness has gone.

Bev & Dave are great hosts, friendly & approachable.

We were pitched in the corner of the Pines close to the play area which meant we could chill & also keep an eye on our 4 yr old playing.

The showers are hot & clean, the wet room style family room made showering a small child easier.

Mornings start for the children with feeding the small animals at 9. 00 which is a great place for them to meet other children on site.

Sticky club on saturday morning is a nice start to a relaxing weekend, adults are offered a hot drink & children squash, while they get messy.

In the evening Dave & Bev open up a small bar in a converted barn while the children ran about outside ghost hunting (they didn't find any).

There's a nice walk around the lakes to the vineyard & a fab fellow camper showed our son how to fish.

We visited the dog friendly beaches at New Quay & Poppit Sands & saw seals & bottlenosed dolphins at Cardigan Island.

Cenarth has several nice pubs & there's a lovely walk along the waterfalls.

The Nags Head pub at Abercych is a brew pub & has fab food

Our children made some great friends so did we & were sad to leave, but are already planning to return.

This was our second stay at Dolbryn and again, what a wonderful site! We stayed for 4 nights during Whitsun. The weather was unbelievably awful, rain and gale force winds! This did not upset our stay. The site is well kept and pitches are a good size.

The toilets and showers are still cleaned to a high standard several times a day. The bar is in a lovely little outbuilding with a lovely fire! Bev and Dave actually opened up a few extra nights because of the awful weather just so we could leave our tents! Games night and Quiz night went down very well! The children were kept entertained playing on the Wii!

The park is a nice touch with the chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs running free. The children are allowed to help Bev & Dave feed the animals in the mornings. The pigs and goats are kept in a separate field, my youngest daughter loved feeding and brushing the pigs!

Would not hesitate returning to Dolbryn, hoping to get back during the Summer if they're not booked up! A lovely quiet, relaxing campsit

My friend and I spent two nights at this campsite and what a gem of a site it is. There are two reasonably sized dog walking areas where you're able to let the dog off the lead to bound around to their heart's content. My dog absolutely loved bouncing like a spring lamb in the longer grass field.

The ground was quite even, though there was a barely noticeable slope where we had parked, but as the site was quiet when we arrived and we were told we could park wherever was suitable, we have nobody to blame for that but ourselves!

The site has a bar which is open on Friday and Saturdays, unfortunately we weren't able to experience its roaring log fire as it was closed on the days we stayed there.

The toilets were really clean with a nice poem on the doors asking us to report any problems. The showers were fantastic, even better than mine at home! Great pressure and no running back and forth to a push button to turn on the jets.

We did get stuck in the mud due to the poor weather, but we were released by the camp owners in no time at all.

Internet access was available for a nominal fee, but it was slow and unreliable. I was unable to use Google search or access Twitter, but Yahoo search and facebook were okay. But at only £1.50 per day, I don't think I should moan about the access to content.

All in all a wonderful break away with really friendly owners and pets.

This was our first visit to this site and what a little gem it is. The weather was terrible rain and gales but what a welcome we had.

Bev and Dave could not be more helpful and pleasant they are without doubt the best campsite owners I have ever met and I have travelled all over Wales, England and Europe.

I had my two grandchildren with me and they absolutely loved it, they loved feeding the animals, fishing and playing games in the lovely little bar.

I would recommend this site to everyone, which means they won`t have room for me in the future and I certainly hope to meet Bev and Dave again.

One criticism, get a better website

Lovely camp site. The farmer let us chose our pitch as the site was pretty empty. We choose to pitch by the park for the kids, which opened at 9 and closed at 9pm (that's if the farmer remembered to open the gate). Lots of caravans on site.

There were plenty of animals, Pigs, Goats, Chickens Rabbits, (I wont mention their Tom cat grrrrr) dogs which the kids were allowed to feed with the farmer in the morning. Kids loved this!

There is a bar/pub on site which opens up some nights, depending on how busy it is. We managed to catch it open on our last night, very cozy with a roaring fire, it has a little play area for kids too, with board games etc, and a teen room.

Toilets were very clean, but very cold at this time of the year. Showers were clean, and there was a mop and bucket for you to clean up after yourself.

Family shower room was handy when I had to shower the kids, but it was sooooo cold in there. Kids were like little ice cubes bless em.

The farmer did tell us that if the site was busier he would do a circuit of the site and tell people to 'go to bed' at 11pm if we were still sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine or what ever. Which I though was a little strict, being adults with small kids we have the common sense to not make lots of noise in the evening. All camp sites have their own rules I guess.

You didn't have to pay until you left, which I liked. Lovely site for the kids to go off and explore, couple of small ponds on site too, if you fancy a spot of fishing. Lovely area, with plenty of beaches, shops and restaurants.

Visited this site for Easter, the weather was not brilliant, but the site was. Excellent facilities, which are kept very clean. A very friendly site, where you were made to feel very welcome by Bev and Dave. Our daughter is a teenager but still enjoyed the Easter activities. The bar is a great addition with very reasonable prices and plenty of traditional family games to borrow. Would not hesitate recommending this site to anyone, children were free and safe to roam and enjoy the surroundings. Would certainly visit again.

We stayed for one night, soon after the school holidays had ended, and had a field almost to ourselves! There were a few mobile homes but they seemed deserted, with no lights on even when we turned in at about 10pm. Spooky.

This is - as most of the reviewers have said - a lovely site, kept very clean and either newly decorated or well-maintained. Showers were hot, adjustable, free and easy to mop afterwards.

I was impressed with the disabled/family bathroom which was designed as a wetroom and therefore ideal for showering small children who decide mid-soak that they want to use the loo - voila, a toilet not three feet away!

I wish the bar had been open the night we were there but - hey, running a site demands a lot of effort and long hours so that was fair enough.

The kids area was lovely for an 8, 6 and 4 year old to let off steam; the field being empty, we could park and set up tents right next to it and keep an eye out for them.

I would definitely return if we are in the area.

Bev and Dave run the site and I must say they are lovely, very friendly, very community spirited!

The field we stayed in was very good, close to the resident pigs! Shower facilities were clean and pleasant. The pub on site was homely and rustic. Very child friendly. We even played Bingo!

There is a small play area and pets corner for the children with chickens and rabbits. Bev feeds the animals every morning and the children are more than welcome to join her!

If you want to get away from everything and relax then Dolbryn is the place to go!

We spent a very relaxing 5 days camping at Dolbryn, near the town of Newcastle Emlyn in Carmarthenshire. The site was very good, the toilets and showers were kept very clean, there was a bar open in the evening with board games available, a craft morning for the children, and there was also a playground for the children to burn off energy. The only downside was the rude and unfriendly seasonal guests, which has put us off returning here.

The local town of Newcastle Emlyn has a castle (we didn't go), a park (that the kids enjoyed), and a few food shops, good enough to see us through the week. The town of Cardigan is a fair drive towards the coast, but has many more shops and a market.

On our drive back to the campsite from Cardigan we passed through Cenarth. This village is famous for its waterfalls and coracle museum, so we stopped for a look (at the falls, not the museum). The kids really enjoyed jumping over the stepping stones to cross the river.

We also visited Tenby on the south coast of Wales. I wasn't keen on going here because it seemed such a long way to drive, but we set off early and arrived by 10am, so not that far at all. It's a lovely town, very pretty, with a walled section which I guess is an old castle (not sure). Anyway, it has lots of shops, a lovely quay area, and loads of sandy beaches, and we spent a full day here walking around and relaxing on the beach.

New Quay and Aberporth are also not too far away. New Quay was really pretty. We parked at the top of a very steep hill so had to walk up and down that a few times! Good for our leg muscles. We had a late lunch at a seafood restaurant called The Hungry Trout. What a fantastic find! A really excellent restaurant and very highly recommended if you're in the area. After lunch, and after failing to find a boat trip we could take the children on, we drove to Aberporth. I'm so glad we did. The beach was quiet because it had been so cold, but when we arrived the weather had improved. We explored and found a large area of rockpools. The kids had bought toy boats so we sailed those on a little stream on the beach and I showed them shrimps and crabs in the rockpools. We returned to Aberporth the next day because the weather was so sunny and warm, so the children managed to have a full beach day, complete with sandcastle-building, stone skimming, a bit of rounders, and being buried in the sand.

Final visit to Caws Cenarth Cheese, which is very close by. One of Rick Stein's Food Heroes. Well worth a quick visit before you go home.

A great holiday in a lovely area. We will return, just not to the same campsite.

This is a very friendly campsite set in some beautiful scenery.

There are three fields, two of which have electric hook-ups. There is a play area for children and various animals around which the children can feed each morning as a supervised activity.

The facilities are kept spotlessly clean and well supplied, the showers are free and the temperature can be controlled, there is also a family washroom with a baby changing table. There is a covered area for washing dishes with plenty of hot water.

In the evening there is a bar with very reasonable prices and a lovely atmosphere and a teen room next to it. Dogs are welcome in the bar as well. The facilities and bar are incorporated into the old farm buildings.

There is also a small lake for fishing (rods can borrowed for a small fee).

The only downside is the need to use a car to go anywhere offsite, although the drive is not far to most things we needed.

We will definitely be returning to this campsite as it was so well kept and child and dog friendly.
