The site is absolutely fantastic. It is in a wonderful setting with stunning views and there are walks across the farmland to a gorgeous beach and a fascinating old graveyard.
We were pitched at the top of the tent field, near (but not too near) the playground which is great for children - ours (aged 12 and 9) loved it. The facilities are the best we have ever experienced on a campsite and are kept spotlessly clean.
The fire-pits are a brilliant addition and we had great fun toasting marshmallows every evening; we also used ours twice as a BBQ. The cook-house is a great idea in case the weather is bad - luckily we didn't ever need to use it for cooking - the only slight downside to it is that there is no hot water, but there is a kettle on the gas hob waiting to be boiled by anyone wanting to wash up. There is a covered drying area at the top of the site, which is ideal for drying towels in if you don't want them draped all around your tent - we appeared to be the only ones making use of this, though.
It is a family site, so there were plenty of children playing and having fun but the noise tended to start dying down between 10.00 and 10.30 pm and the site was practically silent by the 11.00 pm curfew!
There's lots to see and do in the area - we were visiting family but still managed to fit in trips to Kirkcudbright Wildlife Park and Cream o'Galloway Ice-Cream Farm. You can get everything you need in Kirkcudbright itself - there are several very good restaurants if you want a meal out, and you can phone a pizza order through to Tamburrini's to collect and take back to the campsite.
All in all a fantastic site with lovely, friendly and helpful owners - we will definitely be making more than one return visit!

If you like to completely unwind and chill whilst away this campsite is ideal.
The site is pretty quiet, with the nearest town being 5 miles away and the nearest pub being 2 miles down the road; however, the walk to the pub is very pleasant.
The view from the site is fabulous, providing a great views over the Solway Firth. Furthermore, there are plenty of opportunities for walkers, being very near the coast and surrounded by woodland and trails.
For communal shower blocks I would say these were the cleanest and nicest showers that I have ever used and were a big plus on this site.
It's an ideal place for children as well, having a small playground which is in clear view for the parents to keep an eye on their children.

My wife and I spent Easter Week at this site
We booked one of their WigWams, (before we bought our F/C,) very comfortable and well equipped. This is a working farm with sheep and lambs, cows and calves but strangely never heard either before 6:30am when I was up and about.
The site is very well run, toilet block always clean and the Cook Shack with 2 x 4 ring gas hobs and 2 wash sinks and 2 tables with benches was a boon, cook eat and wash-up all in one place and it's free. There is a play area for children which kept them happy. The owners Patricia and Neil were very helpful, in all an excellent site.

We have just spent the easter bank holiday on this site,it was our first visit and certainly wont be our last. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It is a working farm but the small site is immaculately kept.
The toilet and shower block are brand new and are kept to a very high standard. There is a cooking hut on the site which is invaluable when the weather is poor as it has two gas hobs and a table and chairs, so you don't need to try to cook in your tent and battle with the elements at the same time!
The walk through the woods to a small cove is beautiful and well worth the stroll. Kirkcudbright is about a 10 minute drive away and has an assortment of shops also a small wildlife park which is worth a visit if you have children.
Each pitch has a fire pit and a picnic bench, we didn't use either but they are a really good idea.

Great site - stunning views and nice big pitches - loos (although just the two) were spotless and showers nice and hot. The walks round the site were great although a bit challenging for the unfit (me!) down to some lovely hidden coves and an interesting old graveyard - saw 2 buzzards circling the woods. Kids all loved the rope swing and watching the cows. Followed the Google map as per their website but it stops about 15 minutes from the camp! Got there in the end. We didn't get to use the picnic benches or barbecue supplied due to the weather but they were a great touch. As we have just taken up caravanning and camped for the last 8 years we were very impressed with the tent field and its own cookhouse. A lovely site and the owner couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The wigwams also looked great and we had the added bonus for someone playing a guitar round their campfire.

One of the most peaceful sites we have ever been on. The camping field is massive and is not over used by the owners (ie you get a big pitch for your tent!).
The owners couldn't have been more helpful (including providing an extension cable for our hookup because they considered the pitch they had planned to put us on too damp) The facilities were always clean and because the owners don't squeeze the tents in there is no queuing for loos, showers or kitchen.
The fire pits are an excellent idea and wood can be bought from the farm, great for marshmallow toasting and baked potatoes! We enjoyed our stay so much we plan to return during the October week to stay in one of the wigwams
Lovely location and fantastic for star gazing.

This is a quiet campsite in a lovely location. Nice big pitches with picnic bench and fire pit. The toilet block was really nice, although, as previously mentioned, there were repairs underway and the gents were using a single disabled shower, which did lead to some waiting around. The kids (including ours) all congregated at the rope swing, which was a favourite and we had a couple of evenings exploring rock pools at the nearby beach. The cook hut with its gas hobs and tables and benches was a real boon, especially as the weather was 'inclement' to say the least for the first couple of days. Loads to see in the area. We spent some time in Kirkudbright and visited a couple of castles.

Really lovely site, pitches large with fantastic views and each has its own picnic bench and bbq which is a bonus.
Also has a big shed with tables and benches and two proper gas hobs which as a god send on the day it rained.
Toilets and showers very clean, only two of each for each sex but as it is a small site this was fine and we never had to queue. Extra washing up sink would have been useful but not really an issue.
Walk to a secluded beach took about 10 mins with two small children.
Owners friendly and helpful. Had a great time and we will be going back

Not long back from a week at this campsite which was excellent (apart fromt the weather on the last two days - persistent rain). We arrived on the Saturday and Neil showed us to the huge pitches, we had two as where in a group of 6 adults and 6 children and our tents felt miles apart! But with the picnic benches and fire pits it made for an excellent stay. The tree swing was a bonus for the kids and they spent many hours happily swinging.
Neil was very friendly - firewood was readily available but at £5 a bag we found it cheaper to pick some up from the garage in Kirkcudbright! Especially since my husband is a fire -starter and burns through at least one bag per night.
The shower blocks where clean and well stocked - they appeared not to drain well on the first morning but that turned out to be due to tissue blocking the drains in the ladies and so it was sorted almost immediately. Neil also came round on the evening and apologised for the blockage.
Another added bonus was the cook hut - a small hut at the base of the site which was ideal in the rain to cook and feed the kids in, saved getting soaked (adults took advantage of the many take aways in Kirkcudbright!)
We also had on site entertainment of a violin player - not sure if they are there regular but the kids loved it and he did requests!
If you happen to be there on a Thursday take some time to attend the Scottish night in Kirkcudbright - the kids loved it and they get to play tug of war!
Overall an excellent stay and great value for money!

Like one of the earlier postings, we stayed on the site whist the owners were getting the showers sorted out.
No real problem with this across the 4 nights of our stay.
The site is divided into three sections - a five pitch CCC Certificated site field, the wigwams outlined in other reports, and a larger camping field. All are accessed via the CCC field.
The owners provide a sheet outlining a farm trail - a walk taking around an hour if taken at a gentle sightseeing (or in our case, dog-sniffing-every-smell) pace, and offers some great views back across the bay. Especially good getting on towards sunset.
The site is ultra peaceful. The local entertainment in the few nights we were there revolved around the occasional sheep or cow escaping onto the access lane, and being rounded up by both farmer and campers alike!
A lovely location and a well equipped site.
