We stayed over the Easter weekend this year, which was our second visit to Manorafon Farm, and it won't be our last.
The couple who run the site (Will and Jules) have been a pleasure to deal with, even when we changed our booking at the last minute due to the cold weather (another half of our party requested electric due to the cold weather). A fantastic little touch was on Saturday morning when Jules came around the site handing out Malteaster Bunnies. A fantastic little touch.
The site facilities are exactly what we would expect, clean, serviceable and well maintained. The only criticism I would have is that the water pressure in the showers is a little low, but perfectly adequate.
The site itself is well laid out, there have been significant improvements to the fencing and pitch segregation since we last visited in 2011; and it looks like the improvements are continuing this year.
The site location is brilliant, a Tesco supermarket just outside the gates, a couple of pubs, Chippy and Chinese in Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Rhyl and Llandudno within half an hour drive. The site has sea views, and castle views depending on which way you look.
The small selection of farm animals at the front of the site are a nice difference, and the little goats are very cute.
Overall, a fantastic little site which we will most definitely visit again in the future.

The site was lovely - very clean and well ordered - and we got free chocolate Easter bunnies ! The site has been levelled off, making it a lot easier to pitch the motorhome. The only criticism was the lack of heating in the toilets and showers, they were absolutely freezing, and the roof windows were open ! Very unpleasant having a shower in the sub zero temperatures we have had this week.
Would go again - handy for the Supermarket, and the local attractions.

This is a lovely site within walking distance of abergele town. 5mins from tesco and the shops.
The site makes you feel you are in the middle of no were. I took our caravan and my daughter and 6 week old baby for a week and loved it. One or two things could be improved the placing of the baby changing mat is in the doorway to the lady's toilets and you do get in the way of people using the entrance. The shower has push button control that lasts 4 seconds and when you try to wash your hair its not easy.
These are just small niggles and I will be back again next year all being well. Lovely site.

Found this site on here and stayed for three nights. Really clean and always smelt Fresh, Excellent location, Lovely people - very helpful and friendly. Everything was fine and we are going back, can't wait for our next trip - we'll be staying much longer.
We walked down to Pensarn and went on the beach and then had a drink in 'The Yacht' (lovely meals served daily), across the road is Rob's chippy. The best chips ever!
Roll on long week-ends and Summer Holidays!

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-September. The lady who took our booking was polite and friendly on the phone and took our details and what sort of pitch we needed. When we arrived we were shown to our pitch by a young man who gave us a warm welcome. The pitches were level and ours had electric hook-up as requested, and not crowded together either.
The view from our tent was sea to one side, and the mountains, forests and the castle to another, making it a lovely place to wake up each morning.
The facilities were adequate, and as we saw on the notices around the washblock etc, they are planning improvements for 2013. Whilst it is excellent to see that they're not resting on their well-earned laurels and taking feedback into account, one thing that hasn't been noted is that the only baby changing facility is in the ladies toilets and if I'd have been camping with our son on our own I would have had to use our tent floor which wouldn't have been desirable! Had we have been there more than 3 nights we would have needed somewhere to bath our son, so another option for improvement could be a mums/dads changing room separate, which has a baby bath in it too. Whilst the showers were hot the taps and heads were a bit poor and cubicles small with nowhere to put your clothes etc - an issue they will be tackling but with we were able to work around this, so don't let it put you off.
The farm animals (goats, sheep, pigs, dogs, chickens etc) provided daily entertainment for our 20 month old son, who loved going to visit them and also running around the campsite risk-free. The other campers were friendly and happy, and some were talking about a return trip, or were already regulars.
Within a short walk was the sea, but it wasn't really the weather for the beach for us. However, there was an awful lot to do within an hour's drive and we were never short of things to do.
Our only problem over the long weekend was the wind! Not really the site's fault, but due to it's position, there is nothing to protect from the wind coming in from the sea, and the site does suffer from this; after our first night someone's tent was in the wheely bin! One thing to note when pitchin is to make sure your tent is not broad-side to the prevailing wind.
One other thing to note is that our electric hook-up cable died during the first night. I spoke with the person who'd greeted us at the site the next day, and it turned out there were no shops etc to buy a replacement cable or connector to just re-wire it. He said that he would gladly lend us a spare, which he did, and that next year they were looking at opening a small on-site shop to sell those essentials that you sometimes forget or that break. Great idea and top customer service.
Overall we would definitely go back, and will certainly consider it for future trips to North Wales. It was easy to drive there from where we are in North Staffordshire, and along with good facilities and great positioning for exploring that part of Wales and into Snowdonia, it's going to be high on the list for another visit.
Highly recommended and thanks to everyone who's made it such a lovely site!

Fabulous site. Level spacious pitches. Facilities of good standard and condition. Great location being close to Abergele but in quiet spot. Owners are fantastic. Polite, courtious and helpful. We do like the idea that the owners are not standing on their laurels but have more improvements planned for 2013 and request ideas from their guests. All the other visitors were full of praise for the site. Definately one we shall be revisiting.

We came home yesterday from a 7 night break. We all really enjoyed ourselves, the site is in a great position to explore the local area and has a tesco a 2 min drive away, Rhyl a 10/15 min drive ans Llandudno 20/25 mins.
The site is only small but very friendly and a lot of people stay year after year, the kids (5, 9 & 11) all made friends and loved 'the den' the pigs, goats, chickens and rabbits. There is no playground but they didn't need it and enjoyed paying cricket and riding their bikes.
I didn't find it a problem queuing for washing up but when we did wait its nice having a chat to other campers, it could of done with a light though as was in the dark. The freezer is a lovely touch and we will make use of it on our next trip, the toilets were cleaned at least twice a day as I saw Will goin in at 6 am to clean and they were also cleaned later in the day.
We are going back next year we loved it so much, and made some great friends, it is great value for money.
I would love wifi but that would be a bonus, and McDonald's has free wifi so a good excuse to have a McDonald's for tea lol

Just returned from an eight night stay the last week in August and what a fantastic time we have had. Loved the site, lovely friendly staff, very clean and well looked after site.
The toilet block was cleaned daily, lovely flowers in the toilets and well stocked information point.
Other reviews mentioned the bins over flowing but this was not a problem for us, if people weren't being lazy and sticking to the right recycling bins instead of leaving rubbish on top they wouldn't be over flowing and not the site or owners fault.
The best road to use to access the site is about 100 yards past the archway entrance, much more pleasant and a smoother road.
Our boys aged 4, 6 and 10 loved it here, loved the farm animals, plenty of open places for them to play especially on the hill.
Great location, close to the town, beaches, a lovely park down the road and great for exploring north wales.
Can't wait to come back again, would definitely recommend. P. S sorry forget to get our bacon from the freezer and see you again soon :-)

The campsite is in a beautiful location, with sea views, and views of Gwrych Castle on the hill. The pitches are spacious, flat and free from rocks, and the relaxed approach of the owners meant we could set our two tents up in a way which suited our two families, with space left for a game of football with our fifteen month old.
It is a relatively small site which meant the older kids (aged 7 and 9)were able to wander off round the site without us worrying about them. The farm setting was lovely, and provided a point of interest for all the children.
The town is close enough to be convenient (big Tesco, don't worry about packing your own food!), and there is plenty to do within a short drive away.
I would thoroughly recommend this campsite for families or people who wan't peace and quiet between 11 and 7!
The owners are lovely, the site is really well maintained and well lit for night time necessities, and the loo block really is immaculate.

Stayed here during a busy time in August (last week of the school summer holidays) on a last minute booking.
Location was great, and we had a view of the sea too! Only 10 minute walk into Abergele town centre, which has a few great pubs with good food, most of which were very family friendly.
The campsite was (as I mentioned) busy, but there was a really relaxed atmosphere, and the owners were great.
Toilets and showers were very clean, and the water points were conveniently located.
All-in-all, we would definitely go back to this site, although would probably wait until a slightly quieter time.
