We have just spent four days on this site and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

When we first entered the castle gates to this site I was quite nervous about my choice of site. However the first two fields of tents belonged to a different site which didn't look too impressive. Carry on up the lane a bit further and you come to Manorafon farm.

This is a small site but it's very neat and tidy. We had loads of room for our tent, plenty of room for the car and room to lay out tables, electric hook up etc. The 'site full' sign went up while we were there and there was no signs of anyone being crammed in, despite being the middle of the summer holidays.

The shower blocks seemed quite new and although I was initially worried about there being only 2 showers for women (and 5 toilets), I only had to wait once, for 5 minutes, for a shower. The other 7 showers I had, there was no queue. I also didn't see anyone queueing on any occasion when just using the loo! The water in the showers was always hot. It is a bit of a faff pressing the button for water about every 5 seconds (surely the spurts of water could be made to last a bit longer!), but you get used to it and it is no real hardship.

My only criticism of the bathroom facilities is that there is no mop and bucket available for you to mop the shower stalls after use. Its a gripe of many a female camper that some women don't use the supplied mops, but this is the first site I have been to when there are none there in the first place. Dispite this the showers were kept clean considering there were no mops, and I do always use flip flops in the showers anyway.

I had been worried about the dish washing facilities as a previous review states that there is only one outdoor sink that isn't undercover. It usually rains when we go camping so I had images of us getting drenched every time we wanted to wash up ( I nearly didn't book this site for this reason). However, not only was the weather pretty nice, it turned out there was an indoor dish washing room right next to the outdoor one, which you could easily miss as the door was closed most of the time.

There is no on site shop, but it doesn't need one because there is a large tesco a 5 minute walk away and abergele high street immediately after that. I saw a milk man come every morning and an ice cream van in the afternoon.

As the site is so close to the high street there are a few pubs within a 5-10 minute walk, we ate at the Chinese restaurant (lovely food) and at the Bull pub just off the high street (big portions and good for the money). Although there were a few children eating in the bull, the pubs were not the big family type eating places some people may be after, though most had beer gardens.

This site is on a bus route (buses every 12 minutes)that takes you to Rhyll one way (a place that we left almost as soon as we arrived, walking back to Abergele along the beach path), and through to old Conwy, Rhos on sea and Llandudno the other way (a much better direction to travel in). There are some really lovely beaches traveling west, some were almost deserted even though the weather was lovely. We walked the cycle path from Abergele to Llandudno on one day and although it's probably about 15 miles from the site to the end of the Llandudo promenade, it was a nice flat walk.

The owner was very friendly, the site was small and simple but had everything we wanted. There was plenty of room for the children staying on the site to play games and football, without intruding on the tented areas. There is a no noise after 11pm policy, but it always seemed to be quiet earlier than that.

We would use the site again, if you are after a smaller, nice clean site, that's not too big with plenty of room on each pitch, then you should be happy with this site.

We arrived on the Friday and was greeted with a friendly welcome, we was shown our pitch with electric hook up, we had plenty of space to put up our tent and relax. The toilet block is very modern and was kept clean all the time, by tea time we decided to get a take away as I had forgoten the cooking pans, Tesco and the town is only 5 minutes walk away. The camp site is a nice place to relax and it is child friendly, we took our kids to the a castle that was a short walk up a path (great for stories). As this was our first camping holiday, we are pleased that we came here and are coming back here again in August. There is also a small farm as well which the kids loved. We had no problems even when it was raining. We took a day out to conwy castle had our dinner in a cafe there, quite expensive but the fish haddock was the best. This was a 10 min drive from the camp site. Apart from Abigele town centre everything else is a 5 to 10 minute drive away.

Just back from a weekend with our children. A small site with a very helpful owner who took numerous calls prior to travelling. We were shown to our pitch and due to the size of the site were not far from the toilets. The owner took a walk around every morning checking things over and having a chat. The facilities look new and very well maintained. Still have the usual water and grass bits on the floor after the morning ablutions but not a problem in the least.Free hot showers which were brill - not trickling water pretending to be a shower there !

There is only 1 uncovered wash up area which is a bit of a draw back. The weather was beautiful so we luckily didn't have to stand around in the the rain. There is no freezer to freeze your ice blocks which would have been really helpful.

The setting is beautiful, if sloping at the top end. There are a mix of tents and caravans, with electic hook being one of the cheapest we've come across( £12 pernight. There are lamps with the hook up posts fixed at eye level and they stay on all night. Not great if you like complete darkness. Personally it didn't stop me sleeping.

It got very busy on Saturday and there isn't any real place for the children to play (apart from a small hill which isn't ahy good for football/ cricket etc.) when the site is full.

We had 2 great evenings on the shore at Abergele, paddling & crabbing. It's a stoney beach as most are in the area but when the tide is going out there are some excellent large pools that get warm in the evening sun. Rhos on Sea also has a beach area with a little more sand at the small harbour area. Nice place to get hot chocolates and do a little browsing. The Traweller Chippy in Abergele does excellent fish & chips done to order.

Overall this site is probably one of the best in terms money terms but could do with a little more space for children to play games, a freezer and a cover on the wash up area but if these things are not a problem for you then give it a go.

Stayed here for 3 nights,This is a lovely site with friendly helpful owners. There is a new shower block /toilets that have constant hot water and are cleaned regularly. You are a 10 minute walk from Abergele town where there are a few pubs and an Indian restaurant and a tesco for all your supplies. Nice peaceful surroundings and safe for the kids, Well worth the money.I would recommend this to my friends.Easy access to all North Wales and Angelsey.

Well we arrived Friday night at around 7.50pm. We were welcomed by the site owner and he showed us to our pitch, but once he new we were with friends he offered us another pitch closer to them.

Showers and toilets were very clean and always hot water (only downside is showers are on a push button start so keeps stopping but not real a problem).

Nice and quiet surrounding next to a golf course so the nice sound of golfers teeing off in the morning.

There is only one washing up basin for you to wash your dishes and its also outside and not undercover so if it rains you will be getting wet. Another problem (not for me though, only our friends in a caravan) you had to walk/go in car to take your toilet waste. Lastly a few of the pitches weren't level but not a real problem.

All in all a really enjoyable weekend and we will defo be returning in the future.

A very pleasant site situated close to the town of Abergele with all the facilities you would need including a large Tesco store.

There are very few pitches suitable for tents requiring electric hook-up as most of the site is quite hilly and uneven or not close to hook-up points.

The modern toilet block was well appointed with showers and wash basins and an ample supply of hot water. These facilities were kept clean and tidy most of the time and are obviously the pride of the camp owners

All in all a good 3-night visit to a campsite ideal for exploring North Wales
