Just got back from touring wales and this was the first site we stayed on. On entering the site was at first put off with the shabby looking campsite until we realised that our campsite was further up the lane and was very clean and smart looking.
The owners where very friendly and showed us our pitch which was level and looked okay. The only downside was unfortunately for us it was also next to the path for the toilets and showers, hasten to add it was very busy, plus all the children were constantly running up and down so was a bit off putting because we just wanted to chill out, I hasten to add this was not the owners fault.
The site was fantastic for a base, we just hopped on a bus and visit all surrounding areas i.e llandudno, rhyl, etc, also great for a tesco was literally 5 mins walk. Toilet and shower facilities excellent. All in all a good campsite.

We have returned home after a very enjoyable stay at 'Manorafon'. The previous reviews have already stated how good this site is, and we have to agree with them. Both Iola and Richard do their very best to make your stay a pleasant one.
Only a short walk away is the cafe opposite Tesco, which serves a good varied menu to suit all the family, with very friendly staff.
Gwrych Castle which is seen from the site, is well worth the short walk for a closer look. It is a very large building with much to admire, and home to plenty of birds including the buzzards that I watched on several occasions.
This site is definitely worth considering if you are planning to visit North wales, as it is central to most popular attractions and very good value for money!
Overall a 5* site.

Well have just got back from a 5 day stay here and loved every minute!
I have never been camping before but my other half has and we decided to give it a go this year, with our little boy and our dogs.
The site is in a lovely setting, clean, owners very friendly and all on site people where very friendly, even though it was full the owners let us stay an extra night no problem.
The site is ideally located for surrounding areas, tesco 5minute walk and woodland walks for dogs etc and the haunted castle, which we spent hours looking around at.
The site is clean as are the facilities, never had to queue for showers once, and the site isnt what id call 'chavvy' it was all families, couples etc and it is quiet after 9.30ish.
I cant wait to go again, we had 4 nights there, two adults one child and two dogs for total of £52!
Also milkman comes round and as mentioned in other reviews, ice cream van does, there is a very safe, child friendly feel to the site and ducks, chickens, goats etc in the owners grounds which they children can feed safely.
All in all a fantastic site, very good value and very peaceful setting.

Great little site and on arrival were greeted by Richard who gave us a choice of a number of pitches with EHU for just £13 a night really good value. toilet and shower facilities modern and always clean only 2 showers but never saw a queue.
Tescos only a five minute walk away for provisions. Very quiet site at night which is kept spotlessly clean, goats and sheep for the children, All in all recommended

We arrived at this site after a tortuous journey along the A55 and therefore we were not in the best of moods when we arrived. I reported to the site office to pay the fees for the weekend and was told 'oh just pay when you are ready'. This summed up the attitude of the owners, laid back and friendly.
We pitched on the enormous pitch and then went into Abergele for some very nice fish and chips. We were away with friends so once we got the kids to bed we sat outside having a little drinkie, the stars were shining above and out to sea it was possible to see the lights from several ships and gas platforms.
When we woke up the next morning we were able to appreciate the spectacular setting. In front of us a fine sea view, to the rear Gwyrch Castle nestling in the wooded hills. To me this sums up what camping should be about, the opportunity to to be at one with nature.
The facilities were fine for what we needed, good showers and a flat pitch with ehu. There was no shop but it is only a five minute walk to a good size Tesco so this was not a problem. It was only a further two minutes into the Abergele and this provided everything you may need by way of shops, pubs, restaurants and take aways.
I would highly recommend this site and we will be back.

Excellent site with spotless toilets and facilities. This was our 2nd visit this year and we will be back again soon. Owners are great and really friendly and can't do enough for you.Very close to all surrounding towns ie Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Rhyl, Towyn etc.
A previous review says Colwyn Bay 2 mins away that must be by helicopter as it took us around 10 mins or so.Only 10 mins walk from Abergele and you have a Tesco there too which is great for restocking the beers after a bbq. All in all a gem of a site and if you have a pitch on the left hand side you get a sea view too.
You also get a milkman around in the mornings and an ice cream van around in the afternoons. All this for £14 per night and £1 for your awning. Bargain. Thanks again and see you soon.

We had a choice of 3 plots when we arrived. Some of the pitches have a slop to them but it didn't affect our tent.
The camp site has amazing views as it's on a hill and you can see the sea and the castle. I recommend a walk to the castle as it's only ten mins away with small children.
The campsite was very clean and tidy the shower block was always clean and well stocked.
The owners are very friendly and are always somewhere on site and always stopped to talk they also love children. Also our two loved the goats, chickens and the owners dog. The site is very children friendly even though it doesn't have a playground.
There is a few rules about children being in toilet blocks on their own but they are the only ones for children.
The whole of are family will be going back as we enjoyed it so much.

First visit to this site and it was fantastic. Clean grounds, toilets and showers. Very welcoming owners and the local amenities are great.
No 12 bus from Rhyl to LLandudno stops right outside the gate! Abergele has some loverly shops as well as a superstore. Lots of pubs and some nice cafes. There is even an internet cafe of you feel the need to connect.
The local ice-cream van visits the site twice a day. So good we booked to come back in Sept. Worth the 9 hour journey from Scotland.

Originally booked for 2 nights but due to it being such a nice site stayed an extra night. The couple who run it are lovely and made you feel welcome.
We had a slight slope on our pitch but nothing to worry about, we picked our own pitch as we were told of a couple were we could go, we had no electric, there is electric but limited.
The toilets and showers looked pretty new and they were clean with a hairdryer (20p) to use. 1 indoor and 2 outdoor dishwash facility.
The children loved the goats and the ducks on site, great views of the castle and right next to the golf club, walking distance into abergele and tesco 10 mins walk. We look forward to going again in august.

This was our first time camping. We went with our two children and dog. This site is excellent. Toilets and showers are really clean and there are washing up facilities. The views were great.
The children loved it here, they loved visiting the goats and walk up to the castle. Loads to do within short drive away and Tesco and town within walking distance.
Owners where really friendly and helpful, just made the weekend for us. We will be recommending this site and be visiting again. Excellent value for money
