This site is ok for a base for a weekend lovely castle ruin in grounds for a nice walk

Site is ok for long weekend

Toilet block was not always tidy breeze blocks are not easy to clean when they get dirty, showers your clothes got wet

Toilet and shower cubicle always covered in clumps of grass so perhaps need new mower that actually collects the grass

Shower cubicle not big enough if you got kids, plus no where to sit if you got any health conditions like me

Washing up area only 2 outside no area if its raining again quite basic

Will only stay here again for weekend

Just had a lovely 3 nights on this site. Quiet, the owners were very friendly, showers etc very clean and tidy. We had a flat electric hook up pitch, some of the pitches further up were on a bit of a slope, but not too problematic.

Ideal for the local beaches, Tesco only 5 mins walk away. There is also a milk delivery to the site every day.

Kids loved the goats, pigs and free roaming hens. We had a great view of the coast from our pitch.

Caernarfon castle 45 mins away, and you must take a look at Gwrych castle - very eerie and only 15 mins walk away.

Ideal site for us, we will certainly be back.

This was our second visit to this site, and it is still as fantastic as last time, busier than last year so must be doing well, which I am not surprised about as the family that own it are lovely and friendly people, they remembered me by name! :-)

The site is set in the grounds of Gwrych Castle, with views out to the sea. It is a peaceful site, even with the Roosters! There is the toilet/shower block which was clean even during busy times. The goats are friendly, as are the hens that roam about the site, certainly made cooking more interesting! All comes with the charm of the site.

Plenty of space to pitch up, some parts of the site are on a slope, but most is level.

The castle is a short walk up the path, although it is now badly damaged, it is still worth a walk to. You can carry on down the path after the castle, it comes to a road further down after some caves.

Tesco is a short walk away, as is the town centre. Recommend the Bull Hotel for somewhere to eat-homecooked food very nice.

The number 12 bus stops outside the gates at the main entrance- runs every 12 minutes during the week to Llandudno and Ryhl- Llandudno has many other connections including Conwy.

Overall a fantastic site, we stayed for a week. Can't find fault, just praise for a friendly, well run, peaceful site. :-)

The other reviews are spot on for this site. It's friendly, picturesque and extremely reasonable for what you get!

We broke down on the way there and when we rang to tell them we'd be late, we were told that they'd hold the pitch until midnight if they had to!

The location is wonderful and we had a stunning view out to sea, with the castle behind us. Our 'neighbours' were all great and all seemed to have been several times before, another testimony as to how nice Manorafon is.

We can't comment on the child friendliness as we didn't take one but it looked okay with the animals etc.

The owners are very, very friendly and all in all that's very important and starts the break off very well. Will definitely be going again.

Just returned after a fantastic week to celebrate my 40th and my sons 1st birthday, and what a fantastic time we had along with the family who visited through out the week to help celebrate. The weather was fantastic and the site as always was fantastic.

From monday through to friday we had fantastic people around us in their tents with there family and then. The children's holiday family started to arrive and the worse one had to pitch up behind us.

From 7 o-clock they screamed at their children constantly it was that loud it woke up my son at 21. 45pm, although the children where on holiday and where roughly about 3 and 5 you could tell they where excited about being on holiday and where not tired, but no, they where constantly being shouted at to go to sleep.

Then at 11. 30pm another inconsiderate camper decided to go out in their car and returned 15 minutes later then decided to rev the engine of their car, 10 minutes later our tent got fallen into (although our new gelert horizon 8 does have black guide lines) so I accepted that and put lights around them only for the same to happen again the next night, and as I went out to investigate it was then I saw a grown woman with her 2 children laughing away, no sorry about that or a sincere apologies! nothing. Maybe I'm being critical as I am now a father, or maybe I'm just considerate towards others.

Although this didn't spoil our break but it did make me realise that although this is a fantastic site, there are one or two unrulies that will slip through.

 Just returned from 2 night stay. Group consisted of me(47), sister(60), 2 daughters(20&7), niece(8)& granddaughter (20 months).

We all had a marvellous time!Site was great, no park for kids but didn't really matter as they spent most of their time stroking the various pigs, goats and sheep.

Site was quiet and clean.

The owners were very helpful (needed to jump start my car just outside campsite due to a midnight trip to hospital with my poorly granddaughter)and the owner didn't hesitate to assist.

Bus stops just outside were handy and Tesco just down road for breakfast provisions.

Am planning a return trip with hubby and daughter in a couple of weeks. Can't wait!

We stayed at this fantastic site with our niece and 61 year old dad, who was absolutely delighted with this site as well as we were.

The owners are fantastic friendly people, who obviously take pride in their site.

The site is well maintained well respected and is one of the best sites we have stayed on, and this year 2011 July we are taken our son on his first camping holiday to celebrate his 1st birthday and what a first fantastic site to take him to.

We have stayed on some nice sites, but this site cannot be beaten in any aspect.

We spent 3 nights at this site and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a very relaxed 'pay when you're ready' atmosphere and we chose our own pitch with EHU. Some of the site is sloping but there are plenty of flat areas

The toilet block was clean enough with 4 toilets, 2 showers and 3 sinks. No private sink cubicles and the sinks could really do with having a shelf of some sort above them because there isn't really anywhere to put stuff, but the water is hot at all times of the day.

The showers are the push button kind and don't really stay on for long enough but nothing that a continuous push on the button doesn't solve, and again, they're free and the water is hot and plentiful. There's use of a hairdryer for 20p (don't know for how long though).

The lights in the toilet block work on a sensor when you walk through the door, however, this can mean that they go off when you're in the shower if no-one comes in which is okay if it's daylight but could leave you in the dark if it's not!

There are 2 potwashes, 1 inside and 1 outside situated in the amenity block

Bins are situated over by the house both for rubbish and recycling

The pygmy goats over by the house are delightful and you will find hens and cockerels strutting about the site like they own the place! The cockerels are very fond of giving their early morning wake-up calls - all a part of being in the countryside!

Payment is by cash or cheque only as they're not geared up for cards yet although the lady of the campsite says that she is constantly being badgered to enter the 21st century by her family!

There is a Tesco about 7 minutes walk away from the site and Abergele itself is only a few more minutes walk further on than that. Easily walkable for a drink in the pub

An ice-cream van visits and the milkman also visits

All in all this is a very nice site and whilst it may not be 100% perfect, we would not hesitate to go back - oh, and we could see the sea from our tent. Bliss!

Just returned from a 3 night stay here. The owners a very friendly and helpful. Ideally placed 2 minutes drive from Tesco - or a 5 minute walk, Abergele itself a few minutes further down.

Great to wake up in the morning to see chickens and rabbits running around outside the tents. Plus there are goats and pigs on the site to keep the children happy.

Worth the walk up to the castle even if you have no dog - we went beyond and found beautiful views of the sea. Small quiet site - but was quite busy (like everywhere) in the school holidays.

The toilet/wash area was very busy at times, but was very clean. Well worth the visit and will definitely go again.

Just returned from a weekend at this 'gem' of a site. Recommended by friends and it didn't disappoint. Our weekend started with a lovely warm welcome from the owner and that set the tone of the whole weekend.

Great value for money and very handy location, short walk to Tesco and Abergele where there are plenty of pubs and takeaways for whatever your taste, if you like fish and chips then Trawlers, on the High Street, are the best we've had in a long time!

If you cycle, National Cycle Route 5, from Talacre to Penmaenmawr (I think that's how you spell it), can be picked up at Abergele, being keen cyclists we cycled from Abergele to Llandudno, it made such a nice change to not have to battle with traffic and have a 'noise free' ride!

We called at The Pirates Locker pub for a cheeky little pint, very welcoming staff and lovely views,it was great to see how many people of all shapes and sizes and ages were using the route.

Our weekend seemed to go on forever and as its only just over an hour away from us we will be back as often as we can.
