August 2004 Have just returned from our 2nd August bank holiday trip and it could easily become a annual event as we love it so much.
If you want bars, clubs, entertainment or shops then please stop here and don't bother reading any further. Eweleaze is about basic camping and making your own entertainment.
The facilities are basic and I mean basic, there are 2 showers in what can only be described as a garden shed but they work and are hot and clean. You do have to get there early or be prepared to queue but lying in the early morning sun while you wait is no great hardship. There are limited toilets (8 in total this year) there was only ever 1 person in front of you.
The things that really make this campsite for me are the seaviews (have to use top fields so further to the toilets) and the campfires. I wish I could describe how lovely it was sitting round our fire polishing off bottles of red wine while watching the bright full moon and it's reflection bouncing off the bay. We will definietly be returning next year.
P.S. if you get a chance you should try the organic meat that Peter produces the lamb chops we roasted on our BBQ we possibly the nicest I've ever tasted.

sat 23,24 august 2003 I didn't known what to expect when we booked as it was last minuite, and only place who were still takening bookings. Read a review and decided to go for it. The track was bumpy not a problem as long as you take it slow, as we were driving down the track the kids were getting excited as you had sea views and huge hills, cliftops. We had a choice of field, a good space between you and the next person, also a fire in the evening which is great to just sit around and chat. The only thing I didn't like was the toilets, (portloo) they got pretty bad by the evening, and didn't want to use them. Other than that really enjoyed our stay, and still would go there next year.

August BH 2003 Yes, it is true that the scenery and surroundings are great-the coast path is lovely, and takes you to Bowleaze Cove. This is great for swimming, but not so good for sandcastles as it is stony. The atmosphere on the site was very relaxed-fires and BBQ's allowed, and our dog didn't have to be tied up all the time (not that she bothers anybody else anyway).
HOWEVER.....As it was a busy weekend the chemical toilets were not able to cope with the numbers of people using them and very soon were full to over-flowing!! I'll leave your imagination to work out the gruesome details.

August 2003 An excellent site, based on a farm outside Weymouth. Large open fields, with fantastic views of both the coast line and in land.
Fantastic if you enjoy a genuine camping experience.
Facilities are basic, but hey I'm camping !!
We for sure will visit again.

August 2003 The site is reached via a VERY steep narrow unmade up road which I found difficult to go down but my car is very low, others were having no difficulty.
There were four toilet cubicles on one side of the field and four huts on the other. These looked basic from the outside but inside were wonderful - a toilet and sink (cold water only) in two and a toilet, sink (hot and cold water) and a shower in the other two. The showers were wonderful - but you have to be prepared to queue.
The beach is reached via a walk over a field and then climbing down some rocks. It was very quiet when we visited. The views are awesome.
Firewood is provided and many fires lit the field at night, adding to the atmosphere.
I enjoyed my stay there and intend to return.
The charge is per person, rather than per unit, which was fine for me as I was the sole occupant of my tent but I guess if a number share a tent it could work out quite expensive.
I would thoroughly recommend the site. The facilities were good, but you had to be prepared to wait to use them.

August 2002 This was our first attempt at camping. We spent the bank holiday weekend here and it was really good despite being very basic with only 1 shower and toilet. Because we were on a field we were allowed to have camp fires which added to the atmosphere and made it a 'real' camping experience. We felt very safe and the atmosphere was brilliant. Peter who owns the land is very friendly and turns up twice a day to collect your money. It may be deemed a little expensive at £10.00 per night and is certainly not for anyone who wants facilities on tap as you do have to make your own entertainment but its basicness added to the camping experience and the children in our party loved it because they could run round freely with all the wide open space. The scenery around is breathtaking and there are some nice costal walks to the beech. We will definatley use this farm again.
