We really enjoyed our week at this campsite, and could've stayed much longer!

The road to get to the campsite is quite steep, but was easy to drive on. I'm not so sure how easy it would have been if it had been wet, though.

The site had it's own private beach, which was accessed by scrambling down the side of the cliff - a rope was provided, but I would not recommend this for anyone who is not confident of doing so, or with small children. The beach is pebbly, although there is a very nice sandy beach in Weymouth, not far away.

There were plenty of toilets and showers, although many of the toilets were 'earth toilets' - basically a hole in the ground with a shed with a toilet seat in, which are fine, as long as you are not squeamish about doing your business down a hole!

The showers were hot, and we did not have to queue for long at any time of the day.

The shop sold a good range of products, although not always the same things every day.

The camp site was larger than we were expecting, and quite busy when we arrived on a Saturday, although it was less busy during the week. Much of the fields is not flat, so be prepared to sleep on a slope, especially if you arrive on a weekend.

All the staff at the site were friendly and helpful, and the children particularly enjoyed being able to stroke the dogs, puppies and kittens. The site had also provided bales of straw in the middle of each field for the children to play on, which proved very popular, and a great alternative to a childs play area!

I would definitely recommend this site to others.

This was my first camping trip with my two boys(9 & 5), We picked the best week in August I think as only had a few spots of rain. Not sure I would have stayed if the weather was bad

The site, well the road or track is a little nerve racking single track down is one way of describing it (especially in a little micra!)

We pitched in Flat field (not completely flat but flatter than rest) which was lovely could see the lights of Weymouth at night.

Never had a problem with toilets except they should refill toilet roll earlier in morning, showers were lovely really hot(not that the boys went anywhere near them.

I found shop little expensive, didn't use pizza place or takeaway(chips & pies) Ice blocks £1 deposit then 50p per block.

There is a co-op about 15mins walk away through fields or we used the waterside site shop on way back from beach (bowlease cove)

The beach on site shelves and the way down was a bit steep for me with all the gear and a 5 year old, should have used steps farer up coastal path.

The Farmer had put out haybails for kids to play on in middle of field and there was loads of room for kites and cricket / rounders (didn't really see the boys when I was on site) and wasn't worried about them while I was in loo / shower which was great.

There is a bus from Bowlease cove to weymouth which runs every 20mins during july and august.

All in all this site was great and both my boys and I can't wait to go back next year.

This is a huge site with 5 or 6 different fields. Although there seemed to be hundreds of tents it never seemed crowded.

There is a very relaxed chilled out atmosphere to the whole place and it almost had a festival feel to it.

The views across to Portland are stunning and despite its proximity to the coast, the wind was not as bad as expected (Our gazebo did not survive but the tent was fine).

The facilities on site add to the festival feel of the place. They are not to everyones taste but then you shouldn't choose a site like this if you don't want the proper camping experience! There are sufficient toilets and showers although they did get busy at certain times. I'd advise using the showers near the shop as they seemed to get the hot water. All the others we tried were cold. Definitely take your own toilet roll with you and be prepared for doing your washing up in cold water. Additionally - make sure you have some wellies with you! We found the site a little expensive considering how basic the facilities are - particularly at the weekend when the price doubles!

The shop sold most of what you need but was obviously a little expensive. There is also a pizza van and a chip van on site - great for those rainy days!

Most people had fires of an evening which added to the great atmosphere on the site. (Not sure how safe it is to sit next to your fire on hay bales, however, which a lot of people seemed to do!) If you want an early night or a quiet night then you may struggle.

Whichever direction you go from the site you will find a pub! The Smugglers is the best, which can be reached by using the coastal path. Good food, good beer and a good atmosphere. Dogs are also welcome both inside and outside the pub.

We didn't use the beach at the campsite as it had rained and it would have been treacherous trying to clamber down the cliff side in the mud. If you head towards Weymouth, however, there is a good beach along the way (dog friendly).

The only real problem we found with this site was the mud. Due to the large number of people there, once it started raining the mud developed quickly. When we arrived, our choice of pitch was dictated by whichever field we could actually safely drive into! One day we also had to leave the car by reception for safety as it was too slippy.

I've just had 4 days camping here and wished they did camping through the whole season. It's an amazing coastal site with toilets, some compost and some flushing in every field, water taps, some washing up areas, showers, a well stocked and fairly cheap shop, stone baked pizza and fish and chip stand. There is plenty of room to choose your own spot, available wood to burn, coastal walks and a quiet pebble beach to walk to.

Children flew kites, climbed around the fields, played with the animals and straw bales and seemed happy and occupied. My friends and I enjoyed walking and a nightly camp fire with BBQ.

I loved it and will definitely book again but beware of the coastal weather. The wind does take its toll if your not set up correctly but even suffering the back end of Hurricane Bill very few tents were damaged. Great place!

We camped at Eweleaze Farm the 3rd week of August, it is a lovely setting and very restful/layed back. There is a huge field area for kids to run and play in safety and view from your tent. Toilet are close by and although basic were clean. Showers were lovely and warm, we found best time to go was mid afternoon, 3:30 - 4:00 pm. However the few downsides we found were: There was no facility to have hot water to wash up other than boiling your own, which can prove expensive on the gas, although the shop sold lovely food (sausages, bacon, bread) unless you were first in queue you would miss out on the one delivery a day. The beach a short walk and climb down using guide rope or steep steps, is only large shingles, so no use in taking your bucket and spade! The entrance is via a narrow single track with minimal passing places which can be difficult in wet weather and with oncoming traffic. All in all we had a good week bar the wind!

This was our 4th Year on site. Previously it's been quiet and magical. This year we found out from a 'neighbour' of the owner's that he had gone for a 'free for all' approach and not limited the number of pitches.

As a result the fields were crowded especially around the weekends and the facilities, toilets, showers, shop, take out and even the narrow road on and off site were stretched to say the least. We counted over 100 tents in our field alone.

Our main issue was more that some people ignored the large expanse of space towards the centre of the field and pitched up SIX FEET behind our tent, this is no fault of the owner but if he's going to encourage large numbers of people on-site then perhaps there should be pitches or at least a minimum space between tents as a basic fire safety precaution.

All in all we felt this year the site had lost it's 'magic', it's still a lovely location with ease of access to Weymouth and surrounding areas but it seems the farmer has gone for greed over good sense.

We camped for the first four days that Eweleaze was open this year. The location really is fantastic, with wide panoramic views of the coast.

Despite larger numbers this year (120 isn't correct) there was still plenty of room. The two car free fields were great and seemed much less crowded.

Freezer blocks are now 50p to swap which seemed very steep to me (and a 250% increase from previous year's review!).

The facilities are fine, plenty of 'earth toilets' which were serviced daily. The showers were a little stretched.

Fires are allowed which is great but the site got very smokey with all the damp wood being used(and our tent now has burn holes from our neighbours' fire, not something I'd considered might a problem before!). Firewood and straw bales were available to buy.

Weymouth is a lovely walk away (our 6 year old managed it fine - but we got a bus back).

We did have a lot of rain and many areas become very boggy, as any site would have done, but they dried out quickly. As reported by previous reviewers, cars did have trouble getting stuck in mud, but we avoided this by carrying our stuff back to the car. The beach access became a muddy, slippery scramble during our stay.

Recommended, if you are happy without luxury facilities.

We just returned from EweLeaze and it is a lovely set up there but very windy, we didn't know that they had Earth Toilets as someone had invited us to come along so that was a bit of a shock, Showers were good, the little shop had everything you could need in the way of food.

You could buy fire food which is was we did but there is a HUGE pile of sticks you can sift through if you fancy that! You can play with the dogs, pupies and kittens too. It looks like a great place to take kids if you just want them to run around playing on hay bails and generally tiring themselves out.

There were little ones starting from about 1 which we thought was brave but obviously doable. It was nice to have open campfires just be careful of the embers traveling too far and burning someones tent. Unfortunately it wasn't the best camping experience for us maybe it was the Huge group that we were with (We didn't know it was so large & we didn't know the people) but it is a nice setting for those who want to get away from it all.

Just be careful as I have been sick in bed for 3 beds with some sort of virus which I most likely picked up at the campsite. Even though we used antibacterial hand wipes to clean our hands after using the Eco toilets I don't know if anyone else was or if the set up was very hygenic.

The Campsite was lovely and clean. Toilets and showers hosed down at least once a day. Solar block near shop was lovely and warm. Beautiful campsite. Had views over the sea, campfires most nights, laterns and marshmellows.

To the nitty-gritty.

The beach though not far is pebbly. There is a better sandy beach along the coastal path towards Weymouth, not far (mile and half at most).

Riding Stables practically in the next field - should have been mentioned as over tens can stay and groom etc for the day.

The logs for the firewood was £3 a bag. Sounds reasonable until we found out that they were unseasoned, and smoked like hell.

We had some lovely, chilled families next to us. The dogs were very good.

When we arrived at this site we were amazed at the lovely view. On checking in we were told that we could choose any pitch that we wanted and I wanted to have a sea view so we chose the Top Field. This site is a must for people with children who love the freedom, lots of free wood for the campfire and the shop was well stocked.
The beach is lovely and the Toilets were very clean all the time, the showers were always clean and lots of hot water even in the solar showers
We stayed for a week but wished we could have stayed longer, our 6 yr old made some very good friends and so did we, we loved this site and the facilities nearby were excellent, we would reccomend this site to anyone as it was a brilliant holiday. And the sun was shining all week so that made it all even better.
