Only stayed a few nights but it doesn't take long to judge quality of a site. Great setting. Wardens very friendly and helpful. Pitches level, well spaced and situated. Some hardstanding, most grass. We had electric hook up. Two shower/toilet blocks. Tried both - spotless. Family room (in older block) warm, clean and roomy for 2 adults and 2 little ones (bath, 50p for 2 mins hot water, loo, handbasin, baby change pull down). Large childrens field with swing/slide/climbing stuff. Plenty of room to play safely away from pitches. Direct access from site to forest for walking/cycling etc. Fishing pond on site - well fenced for those with little ones. Small site shop for essentials and larger supermarket nearby. Thetford Forest bikes trails well worth a visit- graded family to advanced - own bikes or hire.

Lovely site with a dog walking area to the forest. Site Wardens really friendly and helpful. The toilets to the left of the site are lovely and warm and newly done up but the lukewarm temperature of the showers really lets it down. Apparently the showers in the other block are warmer. The kids play area was quite a distance from the grass pitch we were on but we felt safe enough to let them go off and play.
Basic shop run by the friendly wardens or Tesco over the A11 roundabout towards Thetford & take the 1st left.
As there was a rally going on it was quite packed but you would never know it from the facilities which were quiet and clean at all times.

I have just returned from my first trip to this site (and indeed to caravanning!). Being a single Mum with three young children I was very nervous, but the site owners helped me out and were very friendly.
There was lots of space between units and the whole site felt well spaced out and was beautifully kept. The children loved the play area (though it could do a little more equipment). There was a huge ball area and we went for a walk in the forest (even if we did get lost lol).
The showers and toilets were immaculately clean and fresh. We didn't venture off the site much as we were only there for two nights but the kids were happy and therefore so was I!
We liked it so much we've left the van there and are going back within the next 2 weeks!
Overall, a lovely, friendly, clean and peaceful site.

We spent 5 nights at this site, and overall, it was brilliant. On the down side there are only a couple of showers in each of the men's and women's block, but I understand there are plans to build another shower block. In addition, just 2 sinks for washing up are totally inadequate for a site of this size. On the plus side, the loo's and shower's were clean and spacious, there is a disabled loo and shower, and a separate bathroom, 50p for 2 minutes of hot water. The site was spacious, with loads of room between units. There is a children's play ground with a field adjacent for ball games etc., as well as loads of room between rows for children to play. Other facilities include laundry room, small shop selling the basics, and a small fishing lake. The owners were very helpful and friendly, and would do what they could to make peoples stay enjoyable. There are some good forest walks nearby, and the wildlife is spectacular. It is a quiet, peaceful site, a real get away from it all place, which I would highly recommend.

Our first visit to this site was a Bank Holiday Weekend so as you can expect it was full and busy. I have to agree with previous reviewers about the showers but having spoken to the owners they tell me that a new bigger shower block will be in place for next season. I thought the site was great, lots of room, well organised and lots of space. The pitches are level and appear to be well drained. Thetford is about 6 miles away, the closest supermarket is Tesco which is on the outskirts of Thetford. If you're looking for a great quiet away from it all site you can't go far wrong if you choose Thetford Forest.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this campsite and had a fantastic time. The campsite is in a wonderful setting right on the edge of the forest where you can go for lovely long walks. There is a good children's play area with a huge area to play ball games. The two couples who run the site are very friendly and helpful. The only thing that lets this site down is the toilets, there are only 2 showers, 4 wash basins, and 4 toilets for the ladies and we had to walk quite a distance from where we were pitched, the one good thing was that were very clean and when they were being cleaned you could use the disabled toilet. I understand that in the future they are hoping to add a new toilet block. The small shop sells the basics and you can order a newspaper daily. All in all I think that this is a lovely quite site and I would definitely return.

We Stayed at this campsite for the Thetford Forest Concerts. It is approximately a fifteen minute drive to High Lodge which has excellent facilites for all. The campsite itself I can not fault. The Pitches are very well spaced and ours faced the excellent play area for the children, this also has a large area for ball games etc, which stopped people playing around the vans. (well at least while we were there). The shop is very basic but serves you well for any essentials you may have run out on. There is a large Sainsburys approximately 15 - 20 minutes away in Thetford. We did not use the showers themselves but when I looked over there they were very clean. A word of advice there is a fish and chip van that visits the site on a Friday night and unless you like your fish dripping with fat and chips that tast like they have been cooked in old fat dont bother. (Even My kids didnt eat them). The owners are very friendly and helpful as to information on the surrounding area etc. Would definitely use this site again.

Went to Puddledock Farm at Easter and it was fab! The site is now being run as a C&CC franchise so you gat the usual C&CC deal in the shape of space between pitches and clean facilities. The site is large so even though it was full there was loads of room for the children to run about and for a kick about. There are a good few hook ups for those of us that need them. There is a very good, new, play area that kept my son entertained for a lot of the time, a small fishing pond that kept myself and the kids happy and walks / cycle paths into the forest straight off the site. There are only 4 showers (2 gents and 2 ladies) but there is a family room and a disabled loo. The gents had 2 loos, 2 urinals and 6 sinks. The ladies had 5 loos and 6 sinks (I'm informed!). The on site shop sells the basics and ice creams. Sounds like they have some great plans which include more toilets etc, which I think they really do need. They organised an Easter draw and a decorate an egg competition whilst we were there. The whole site is clean and well kept. The site is on the edge of Thetford Forest so there is lots to do in the forest including “Go Ape!” for those feeling brave. Thetford is not far away with a large supermarket and plenty of shops. The Broads and Norwich are easily reachable from the site. Plenty to do and explore. I would recommend it to anyone and we'd be going back at the May bank holiday but they were booked up by the time we got round to looking for somewhere to go.
