We have just had a fantastic 2 night stay at this campsite. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. We chose our own pitch, close to the playground to keep the children happy, which made it very easy to supervise them. The site was very clean overall, the toilet block was immaculate. The positives of this site are level pitches, good walking and cycling directly from the site (routes happily explained by the staff), great staff, good children's playground and ball field, superb cleanliness. The downsides for us were lots of yappy dogs (I guess we were unlucky!), bins that are outside the exit (but maybe this was a positive as the weather was very hot but there were hardly any wasps!) and showers that lasted a mere 4 seconds when the button was pushed! The positives far outweighed any negatives, however, and we will definitely be back!

We have just spent the weekend here with friends who have been here 4 times before and loved it. No wonder it really is a fantastic site, the pitches are huge and really well laid out.

The facilities are brilliant but have a shower outside normal times if you want hot water. The owners could not have been more helpful and pleasant.

We took our 2 jack russells who absolutely loved the fact that the forest is right on the door step. We spent 4 hours out walking on saturday and only met 3 other people.

We didn't need the children's facilities but our friends 9 year old son had a fantastic time in the play park as well as the huge games field.

The little shop is ok for emergency bits and bobs but we used Tesco in Thetford 6 miles a way.

If you are looking for a weekend or a week site this one and the local area have lots to offer.

Arrived here for our weeks stay and had a very warm welcome from staff. Shown to our pitch by the wardens.

Big site, surrounded by forest. Lots of wonderful forest walks. Clean toilet/shower blocks, good washing up facilities with plenty of hot water, nice cabin with tourist info and laundry fac (£3. 50 wash, £1. 50 30 min dry). Fruit trees everywhere and were told we could pick fruit if wanted. Good children's play area although very busy when we were there.

Piped TV to EHU posts, £5 for week or £1 per night. £30 cash deposit for cable. You will need to have a freeview box or TV to use this. If you have a portable satellite system you struggle because of trees (we found this out and ended up buying a freeview box).

Bad points.

Lacking facilities, showers etc. When busy there are potentially 157 pitches on site, pods and 10 jumbo pitches. 5 showers in one block, 2 in the other, definitely not enough when busy.

Fruit trees everywhere, nice but attract wasps when sunny.

Laundry was expensive and wash did not get clothes clean, clothes were still not completely dry when came out of dryer.

The narrow road on access to the site seems to be used as a lorry trailer park. There were always trailers parked there, ok if in a car but I can imagine that if you were trying to get a caravan/motorhome out you could have problems. This was not mentioned anywhere.

It is a nice site, friendly staff but definitely for out of season. Would not recommend in peak season as too busy.

Stayed here for 8 days in July.

Immaculately kept site. We were on a large hard standing, but the grass pitches would have been just as firm. (Rock pegs required for the hard standings for awnings)

There are two bike trails through the forest, accessible from the site - a 1 mile green run and a 2 and a bit mile yellow run. These are marked out by posts with the colour code on top - though it's easy to take a wrong turn as not every junction is marked.

We were second in the queue for the Friday night chip van after reading the reviews below (the first chap in the queue also being a UKCampsite.co.uk user!) The van was still there two hours later, so most of the campsite must have queued up.

Round and about, we visited Grimes Graves - a prehistoric flint mining site (11 miles - mildly interesting but expensive for a 5 minute climb down a ladder), Castle Acre Priory (20 miles - an 11th Century monastery - excellent, Denver Windmill (21 miles - working Windmill - fascinating!) and Norwich Castle (26 miles - excellent and only £1 entry each during lunch hour)

Entry to the campsite is via keycode barrier, and no entry/exit is allowed between 11pm and 7am. Recycling bins are at the exit just after the barrier.

The access road is about 200 yards long and is in need of repair with many potholes making for a bumpy trip - there's a passing place around half-way up if you meet an oncoming vehicle.

Would return.

We visited this wonderful site for a 2 night stay on the 8th and 9th July.

It was a real pleasure from start to finish. On arrival we were made most welcome at the lovely reception / shop and after being shown our pitch on the site map we followed the Gentleman to our pitch (on his bike!). We were given clear safety instructions regarding where to pitch and where to park. Our pitch was on perfectly flat neatly cut grass as were all of the pitches.

The site was busy but the facilities were never stretched and the cleanliness never waived.

The site is immaculate in every way with the cleanest toilet and shower block I have ever seen. The site is visited on a Friday by an excellent fish and chip van which I can recommend (just be prepared to queue as it is extremely popular)

A good little information shed in one corner with local attractions leaflets and pub / restaurant info.

Fab walks straight from the top corner of the site into Forestry commision marked circular walks of the forest.

All in all a site that is a real credit to the owners and employees with a lovely little play area for our children who also had a wonderful time.

I have no hesitation in recommending

Stayed here for 2 nights arrived at short notice, we could basically pitch where we wanted as site was not full. Shower blocks immaculate although as others have mentioned the button needs to be pressed every 5 seconds on the shower to get any water and the cubicles are really small, and could do with another hand dryer.

Staff really friendly and hard working.

6 miles to Watton for small Tesco or 7 miles to Thetford for larger Tesco and pub that serves meals although we did not try this. About 12 miles away is High Lodge Forest Centre where there are great cycle routes all clearly marked with different levels, there is a Go Ape here and Segways, this is a must visit.

You can here the road noise from where we pitched but ear plugs sorted that.

Thetford is famous for where Dad's Army was filmed and there is a bronze statue of Captain ManWaring in the centre

Would definitely return

We visited Puddleduck Farm for the second time this June. We had a very good break and enjoyed our stay, extending this by an extra night. The next time, we will choose a pitch away from the park, as there is a lack of control from both the site wardens and the parents of children, allowing children to play beyond the signed closure time.

On balance, this is a nice site, well maintained and with good facilities. The wardens are nice and do react when asked to.

It is very likely that we will stay again in the near future. I would also add that my father also joined us for a couple of days, staying in a standard pod following his recovery from Cancer treatment, and had a wonderful time.

Only our second trip in our caravan and we were very pleasantly welcomed and taken to our pitch and guided in to position. The warden spent time going over the facilities. The toilet and showers were spotless.

My only criticism is the push buttons on the showers and the fact that if you only pop in to use the loo, there is only one hand basin and one poor hand dryer.

There are some lovely circular walks and cycles from the site and a pleasant fishing pond, which my son and his granddad spent an afternoon on.

Despite rain and a bad summer cold, we are already planning to come back.

This was actually our second visit to this site. We arrived on the day of the Royal Wedding. Great fun to watch the wardens all kitted out in wedding gear.

Still cycled us to our pitch too.

A rally was taking place, but this did not cause any problems.

Facilities usual C&CC standard, although there was a visitor in the ladies, a hawkmoth.!

Chip van still visits, great food.

Walks from site are fantastic.A must is a stroll along the old crab and winkle line to Swaffham, you pass the pingo ponds, a sight on their own, deer roam freely.

We will be back again.

Stayed here for a 3 day break in March. Very warm welcome from staff and was allowed to choose my pitch. When I pitched my tent I realised that my electric hook up lead was short so the staff sorted an extension lead out for me.

Wash rooms, showers and toilets kept very clean and nice and warm which was a godsend at this time of year. God area for dishwashing.

Great area for woodland walks and cycles on tracks and empty side roads. A good range of pubs in the area many of which were in easy cycling distant on quiet tracks and roads from the campsite. Also great for viewing wildlife. During one walk spotted both roe and muntjac deer, massive variety of birds and even a hedgehog.

All of the area seemed very quiet and was a great place for a spot of relaxation. Will definitely be returning for another visit. Thanks again to the friendly site staff.
